My last lobster hoop net trip of 2022-2023 season on March 17th

All lobsters were released.
Caught 2 spider crabs. 1 was kept and 1 was released.
Bait used were expired tuna in a can (10 cans total) mixed with chicken drumsticks and thighs.

nice, wish i got to go one last time. didn't bring my yak down though 😅. What's the size limit/quantity limit for spiders? Never got one before and don't really get them up north

Hi Ben, according to my friend Ted who has been hooping since 2007 he said there are no size limits in spider crabs. I've tried searching in California Wildlife website but can't find any info on it either.
