Can confirm these numbers and the fact that a big catalogue of smaller songs can be more powerful than 1 huge hit. It’s actually amazing how much money can be generated with pub, writers share and master. We producers need to put in more pressure about the master tho.

@@The_pots_guyif you have a large catalog of small/ medium placemats itll start to add up over time and yeah a big placemat is good but lots of small and medium sized placemats will add up over time is what I take from it

So if you started out in 2019, you’ve made about 42k a year on average so far. On one hand, you are definitely being underpaid considering how many streams you’ve had. But on the other hand, you’re still getting paid to do what you love, which makes you luckier than 99.99% of human beings.

And what is your stance on choosing a publisher, as I want to release my own songs very soon but don't know whether to use say, Beatstars Publishing, DistroKid, Ditto, or any others if there's better, again not for beats but songs, would love to hear your advice!

The labels are supposed to be paying you master royalties directly, you shouldn’t have to register for those.
Gotta register on sound exchange and also set up vendor accounts with the labels tho hahah, that’s what I been procrastinating
@@prodkxvi oh the vendor accounts, yeah, those are terrible, but they’re not technically registration. Sound exchange is a ‘performance royalty’ but on the master side- hopefully every agreement had the sound exchange LOD on it, I’m sure it did based on the lawyers you work with 🙏🏽🙏🏽
