I did about 16 songs for an artist with Warner Brothers… I was 20 and just excited to have my first break. Signed away rights for 2 cents per record 😂 granted, the artist was taking care of me on the back end cause I was an in house producer, but MAN! Get your paperwork right fellas, nothing last forever and those songs have over 200M streams now. Great info brother!

I don't think that people actually appreciate how much work is being put into these videos and how good and tremendously helpful they are. Many producers don't know much about these things which are crucial for getting to your dream of becoming the absolute best producer and musician. KXVI, you're an absolute beast, keep it up! Can you make a step by step explanation about how to register. From registration of a beat, royalties split when publishing the music with the artist. I mean all the processes from the studio to the stage?

Do you register copyright on each of those beats and loops? Or do you register it after you discover somebody has stolen it?
yea i register after i found it stolen, i'm never gonna register every single beat i make for a copyright, it would take too much time

So, if one of the artists uses one your beats and blows without leasing it but keeps in touch with you. Is that stealing??

So if an independent artist buys a beat from a producer/beat maker , makes a song and distributes the song thru distrokid and the song is purchased from iTunes . After iTunes gets its cut , the producer/beatmaker will typically get 10-16 percent of the sale of the song from iTunes?
