Thanks for sharing Mark! I think you are pretty successful, within 4 months you were able to monetize - that’s insane to me. It took me 18 months with over 200 videos to get to the 1,000 subscribers mark (it is a search-based content). I had over 4,000 hours within 13 months, but getting the subscribers was the challenge for me. I left it to grow organically, though, not really getting any family/friends subscribe (except my spouse & kids....they better lol) because I didn’t want to have an artificial spike to only later have a drop in growth rate.
It’s sometimes such a mystery how some videos become popular and others don’t. I have tried to follow up with videos on some of the topics that became a hit, but these videos never got to that level. And then, I have some videos that started super, super small, like 15 views a month and got to over a couple thousand. These are the ones that are really interesting and make me hopeful that others may still make it to thousands. I also did unlist a couple of my videos and re-done two.

I agree on many things, there are no two videos that perform the same way, even if it's the same topic. At the end of the day, you are relying on the algorithm, and that takes so many variables into calculation (even outside your own channel).
I have been a little down at times for some of my videos not doing as well as I thought they would, but giving up has never been an option, I will keep doing it because I love it and I know that things will get better as long as I focus on great content....even if it takes me few years...I am in awe though, of how some people can get there so much faster. Incredible!

It hurst a little when views remain stagnant knowing how you much effort you put in making the videos. But yeah, I'll persist and experiment a little more and see how it goes :)

When you said the amount you made my jaw dropped cause I’m an up and coming gaming channel and have been monetized for 7 months or so and the gaming niche is known for low cpm/rpm…so when you said that it blew my mind cause I’ve somehow made more than you and not trying to be rude or like naive about it just though it was interesting. @@gnycars9361 there isn’t a set amount honestly it differentiates but I would say anywhere from like 2 dollars to 10 dollars usually.

Yes, CZcams is a marathon ( usually ) and not a sprint. My own channel is based around evergreen content. This may be slower to grow but I hope will provide a longer term income. Don't get me wrong, a nice viral would be great. But I wanted a good portfolio of material to support it. Maybe that early success would have produced a longer term growth if it had come a little later in the channels history. Any ho.. great video. 😎😎

Can i ask you question? If yes here it is, when upload a video to my youtube not this channel but another channel the video becomes only 144,240,360, 720 and i edit it and export it to 1920x1080 its a 1080 video why it not showing me 480 or the actual youtube video resolutions from 144 to 1080

I’ve been wondering if the invalid traffic issue is from people playing videos from within Google search results. It plays no ads on monetized videos until you click to go to CZcams to play the video, but the whole video can be watched ad free within the search results.
This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my CZcams channel 8 months ago about self development. Now I have 872 subs and > 600 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I could haven’t learned without getting started in the 1st place.

I'm trying as a musiclabel to have my site monetized and even if I own all the music/masters on the page CZcams refuse to give a thumb up for me to have monetization/adds on my videos. Frustrating when I own all the music and rights.

But it's not about 1,000 subs, then you get paid It's also about 4.000 watch hours at the same time then you get paid.
It's tough these days. I know that I'm not the best out there, but there are so many similar channels that are doing (and earning) 100 times better than me in everything, despite having the same or worse quality content. I'm still not giving up, but as I said, it's hard.

A good way to think about it is, this video has 13K views right now as of this comment. That’s about $13 USD roughly. Maybe it’s more because of his subscribers but that’s about it.
Due to the invalid traffic situation impacting thousands of creators, it's actually less than that.

sitting at so & so revenue for how long? what period? How often? Is that per video? You do not explain this and much of this video is full of irrelevancies to the title of the video. We wanted to know how much you made after 1000 subs and within what period and how often. Things like that. Not reviewing your videos and the rest.
Its very sad to see when you put a lot of hard work on the video contents, but less people views and subscribe, anyway you are better than me, at least you have 1000 subscribers now, me only with 25 subscribers till date, hard to imagine when i will reach the requirement of 1000 subscribers. but i really hopes people who watch my video content can motivate at this hard environment and move on.
