      I think it is a win win; a beneficial partnership for both. Samsung hardware with Microosoft software. This formula has made both into giants; MS being the software for countless hardware developers (now Samsung) and Samsung being a premier hardware developer, partnering first w/ Android and now MS.
      I remember several years back when the mantra for many tech media sites was, 'Microsoft is dead; a business zombie.' My tech guy was pitching the same, how we should begin switching to Apple, even though Apple did not have certain applications we used, nor anything comparable. If they had, there was the cost associated to convert to a new platform and training employees, and the loss of productivity during the entire process.
      I remember when he virtually spouted the same hooey, almost word for word; "MS is dead, and I just refused to see the light!"
      I laughed and responded, "MS isn't dead. Tech, today, is either owned by them, or they are heavily invested in it" Two examples I used at the time was, 1- MS had a substantial investment in Apple. 2- MS made a royalty for every version of an Android license installed on a phone, around the world. The tech guy wasn't aware of these, had to look it up and was blown away.
      My conclusion was MS wasn't dying, they were repositioning. Regardless of how the tech market moved, they would be well positioned to leverage their hidden advantage, providing a migration path to their customer base.
      I backed up my belief by purchasing more MS stock and held it. 👍🤣🙂
      I expect we will see more integration between MS&S; a very good thing.
      The biggest winner in this isn't either company, it's their customers, first, and their investors in a close second.
      As a customer and investor, I, like so many others, get a double win.
      Lastly, my second smart phone was a Note II. At the time the tech prognosticators were slamming Samsung's phablets. 'It will fail. People won't buy it. No one wants a phone that big. IT'S TOO BIG!"
      Look at the size of phones today. The Note II is tiny in comparison.
      After using it for three weeks, I began to make monthly investments in Samsung, too. It was evidentiary that Samsung was on to something. 🙂👍
      Both companies invented their respective markets but haven't rested on their laurels; they continue to tweak and reinvent and now have a symbiotic relationship.

      Yes I love windows machines and I’ll switch from iPad to android tablet if notability and LiquidText are made available...For the time being, LiquidText is available now on the Microsoft AppStore but not for the android...While notability is still not there either for windows or android...The success of iPad is not because of its hardware and software primarily but due to the excellent apps support!!!!! Once notability and LiquidText are made available for the Samsung android tablets, that day I’ll switch from iPad to Samsung...take care...

      They did talk about this during the s21 unpacked event, and even the s20 last year, but I agree they both can be a little more vocal in advertising, social media, etc. My guess is they are waiting until things are a little more solid before going all out.

    • @TECfan1
      @TECfan1 Před 3 lety +5

      They've had this for quite a while. And the Link to Windows has always been in Quick Settings on Galaxy phones. I've known about it for some time. I think Windows even asks you to do it when you first get a new PC and start it up.

    • @User-cb4jm
      @User-cb4jm Před 3 lety +1

      They are terrible at marketing and rolling out key features universally. A shame as they tout other features. I think a leaf from apples book is to let many generations of devices get a update at once. This allows a greater subset of the population to meaningfully interact with the feature in one go, not only a small few who have very specific high end late model devices.

    • @tamwilfred
      @tamwilfred Před 3 lety +2

      The hard part is when they first rolled out these features they probably weren't good. That's how I felt when Samsung first introduced DeX. I think over time and with more development, the experience gets better. Just using DeX sometimes on the Note 9 isn't always the smoothest at times.

    Hi Thao. You forgot one:
    Drag and Drop files between the My Files app or Gallery app to and from your computer. I think it's a Samsung exclusive like copy/paste.
    I don't use it much as my photos are synced to the cloud but it works like a Samsung Airdrop.

    The good thing about this collaboration is that it also works on the other Samsung phones besides the S and Note phones. This app has worked wonders linking my Samsung A70 to my Windows 10 laptop. Excited for whatever more is to come out of this Samsung x Microsoft collaboration.

    Funny I was failing at using AirDroid then I remembered this integration. I tried it. Really nice. Still figuring out the camera bit. It's workable but the Windows Controllers always mirrors it in portrait. Also dragging photos seems to create a compressed version whereas they are much higher quality when I use my Galaxy s21 ultra to upload to drive.

    Hey Thao, do you have a WiFi 6 or 6e setup at your house? I think wireless DeX would work a lot better. A couple of months ago I tested out remote play on my PS5 and Tab S7+ and there was no lag whatsoever which really surprised me. My PS5 wasn't even using an ethernet connection either and just was on WiFi 6.
