- Here's a short video of the 1/4 mile times I attempted today. I'm sure these aren't the best times I could do due to the heat and humidity but these will work as a base point right now.
Specs:
2013 Silverado 1500 crew cab 4x4
5.3L engine
Comp Cams 220r
Texas Speed longtube headers
Cold air intake
Circle D 3400 Stall Torque Converter
3.42 gears
Stock 6l80e transmission
Tune

What are you running the engine up to? Weve got a 16 silverado with the tsp stage 3 cam , circle d 3k stall. Just recently changed the trans tune from stock and were actually putting that stall converter to work in 1-3 unlocked then 4th locks up.
I'm watching your vids for reference of how much rpm it drops at the shift compared to the stock converter. Thinking about doing a converter in my 92 Corvette. 2.59 gears and stock 1400 stall make it kinda doggy, 2.22 is the best 60' i've seen on my Dragy so far. Granted that's in Phoenix in 4,000+ DA. It went 14.3 @ 99 finishing the 1/4 in second gear lmao. I'm thinking of doing a 3000 stall and 3.07 gears. I think together those should drop half a second off my 1/4, and maybe gain a mph or two.
Shoot it could probably drop more than half a second. Obviously depending on the DA my truck is .5-.8 sec quicker in the 0 to 60mph just from a 3400 stall converter. Not too sure what that translates to the 1/4 mile, but those are the numbers I’ve recorded before getting my hands on the dragy. Converter and gears will definitely wake it up. The only issue I could see is traction. Anything done to the engine?
Do you still wanna put the 6.0/408 in the truck or an all out race car build, i put alot into my daily truck now its kinda annoying to daily so i moved onto a all out race s10.
No slouch for sure my garbo 4.8 would probably do the quarter mile in 20 seconds but I think 4.10/4.30 gears would really bring the truck to life not even in 4th gear at the end of the runs
I've been messing with my tune for the past month and bumped up the timing and messed with the fueling and it definitely helped. I'm going to do some new times when its a little cooler out.
Ever thought about a lsa blower on it and putting the 6.0 on hold?
Well with the 6.0 I’m leaning towards stroking it out to a 408. That block can handle 1,000+hp no problem so it will basically future proof the truck. Lsa would be cool and that’s not completely out the window.
Supposed to hold foot on the brakes hard
Are you still in 4 x 4 when you’re in high speeds
No, after the first shift I switched it back to 2wd.
This thing needs gears bad. 14.7 is still fast though.
For sure. I mean I think it can do better with the set up it has now. I just need to tinker with the tune a little more, right now the timing is pretty mild. I am building a 6.0 for this truck so this was my baseline with this engine until the new setup.
@@JohnVesely I have a 2012 2wd with FBO 4.10 and a REALLY aggressive tune. I’m guessing it would do just about this.
I thought it did 5.4 in the 0-60
Yes that was the quickest time I recorded, but that was optimal weather. Density altitude plays a big factor in engine efficiency. I’m waiting until the winter time to do 1/4th mile times again to record the difference in times.
@@JohnVesely that makes sense mine went from 6.2 to 6.8 in the heat
Get a different tune ASAP, those trucks with these mods should run low 14, high 13s unless you're running big tires
There definitely not light wheels and 4x4 4door is pretty heavy also stock gears. I think it did good for the mods.
I've been tuning the truck recently and increased the timing and messed with the fueling and seems to have picked up some power. Going to go to an actual track now that I live near one to hopefully get new times.
Let me know if you require any tuning help
