In the past I would have been super excited to see episodes for Sonic Superstars and Super Mario RPG since I beat and really enjoyed both games but I can’t even get myself to watch them now.

There is a point to customizing the Egg prototype, It gives you basically a Customizable Boss fight, atleast in looks. Thats a very unique idea that I dont think i've seen ever

I spent 6 hours on the dragon.
The reason why the soundtrack is a mixed bag is mainly due to Jun Senoue. Look, I love his work in the early years and especially the 3D era, but ever since Sonic 4, he has this attachment to the genesis instrumentation that falls flat in most cases. He's a great guitarist and has given us absolute bangers but he needs to let go of the genesis soundfonts and improve what's he's best at.
Exactly, I kinda wish SEGA would let Tee Lopes go back and rearrange some of the songs (Lagoon City is safe though).
Sonic 3 & Knuckles will forever be my favourite

I know a lot of people love 2D Sonic and the games but I’ve never really enjoyed them since SA1/2 where my first Sonic games. But I do hope people can still enjoy it
Sonic was fine in 3D at first. He didn't have a rocky transition with everyone asking for Adventure 3. The only real issue I have with Adventure 1 is the staunch focus on Big the Cat's play style and Gamma.
It was Sonic transitioning to a lack of focus on what makes Sonic unique that he had a rough transition too.
You didn't play Sonic 3D. It was very bad.

@@trise2033Sonic 3D Blast was not Sonic’s transition into 3D. It was an isometric 2D game. Sonic Adventure was the 3D transition game.
@blujai831-zj3uq ive played a number of games with worse physics. Given the version im most familiar with would be the dx version, but worse than Sonic R? The collision wasnt great in sonic adventure ill admit, but at least you didnt get stuck to every single wall ever.

I was never really a big Sonic fan, but it seems like they did pretty good with this one. I haven't heard many complaints about it. And I'm sure the sonic fans are enjoying having a new character to draw nsfw fanart of.

I believe that he will bounce back from this. Most people do deserve a chance of redemption and I believe Jirard’s one of them. As I said previously, at the end of the day, we’re all human and we all make mistakes, and this mistake shouldn’t define him and his legacy.

I really do need to go back to this Sonic game and beat it, especially since i paid full $60 for it when it came out but then Mario Wonder came out a few days later and I haven't gone back to Sonic since.
Yeah, honestly Sega should have adjusted their release time for this one, putting it so close to Mario was a bad choice

I disagree as Tails is slower than most of the emerald powers. And the game normally allows you to activate the emerald’s abilities on when they are needed.
Final fight cant be worse than in mania.

My son (8 yo) has been really enjoying this game. He’s pretty much obsessed with Sonic at the moment.
He and I have been having fun playing together but even with only 2 people it can get a bit chaotic.
Personally I think mania is the better sonic game but I’ve had fun with this one.
I think my son likes this one more mainly because he was able to get all of the chaos emeralds on his own.
Yeah, this platinum trophy was actually tougher than it looked. Took me 31 hours.

Sonic Superstars honestly has looked very interesting since the first trailer that got dropped, way back when. I haven't really kept up with the Sonic franchise directly for a while, but it's always intriguing to see what they try with each new entry, and I can only hope they keep getting better over time. I'm not sure if I'll pick up Superstars anytime soon, but at least as a casual Sonic fan, it looks fun enough for at least one good playthrough, which is more than can be said for some titles nowadays. All in all, great episode, Jirard. Looking forward to the next one my guy.

Never been a fan of classic Sanic controls. This is the reverse of what I want in a Sonic game
I want a 2D pixel Sonic with modern Sonic controls: boost, homing attack, ground slam, etc. After getting a taste of of Act 2 Sonic in Generations on 3DS, I've been dying for more Sonic platforming like that
I'll definitely play Superstars in 90fps when I get a Steam Deck. I hope they removed the Epic Games and DRM BS from it
Sonic Rush, Sonic Rush Adventure, Sonic Colours on DS are like that. Easy to emulate on Deck too.

@@sausage5488this game was p mid. I dunno how they haven't thought of split-screen at least for an option to be toggled. The same reason everyone hated being Tails in the Genesis titles. Still like it, haven't played it since my initial run tho. Still don't wanna play the extra DLC to Frontiers til they patch out the pop-in for all non-Switch platforms (at least) it's just breaks the immersion. I know that sounds dumb in a talking hedgehog game but the effect of the "super fast speed" + open world are really watered down if you just have things popping in and out.
@@codydfwn I really liked few zones, like first one, jungle one ,pinball one are top tier , but the further you get the worse they play and look more blocky. Bosses are fine in the first playthrough ,but become annoyence on the next ones. Final boss was a pain too. Haven't even tried Trip playthrough cause I heard it's bad. It's an alright game, but fangames like Triple Trouble 16bit ,BTS, ATS and other classic fangames are much much better.
@@codydfwn Im sorry ,but I don't think Frontiers is getting patched up on Switch. Maybe there will be some patch for next system if next Switch is backwards compatible.

I found this game to be fun to play through on the first run, but there really wasn't any part of it that gripped me or made me want to come back. In fact, my attempts to complete it by clearing the Trip and Final stories left me frustrated to the point that I put the whole game down and never touched it since.
The Fang Boss is obnoxiously difficult, and not in a way that feels fun or rewarding, and the Super Sonic Boss doesn't bother to make it clear what you're supposed to do, so I hit my limit when I was 20 mins into the dragon fight and then he changes his attack patterns in a way that makes it completely unclear how I'm actually supposed to hit him, so I spent 2 mins confused before running out of rings and dying.
I'd probably feel more motivated to re-play it if the ending didn't leave such a bad impression.

Great game! I was surprised by how much fun I was having as a long term 2D fan, it's like a mix of OG and Advance meets some cool new gimmicks. Not quite as deep as 3&K, but extremely enjoyable for the first time since Advance!

I was definitely on the side of being tired of Classic Sonic, Green Hill Zone and the like, so I was at least glad to see that all of the stages were new this time around. I still think they could just made a 2D game using the modern characters, like they did on the GBA and DS.
I mean, Mania was really the only game in recent history besides Superstars that was completely devoted to classic. The rest were shared. Not to mention the fact that ol green eyes has had this franchise on lock for like... almost 2 decades, longer than classic Sonic ever did. What's worse is that even when they tried to ape classic games, they screwed up.
So I do appreciate a game, made by Sonic Team, which is an actual competently made one, that's done in classic style.
I'm sorry for more modern fans, but you've had about a good 2 decades of ol green eyes. Classic fans only had it for maybe 7 years or so, before everything was done in Adventure style. Throw us a bone once in a while.

Literally just came back from sisters for movie night with my niece and nephew. We watched sonic 2. Awesome movie. What a great way to end night by having sonic review up. Nice timing 🎉

You dont get arrested based on allegations, nor would the crime he's being accused of constitute immediate arrest. He is more than likely being investigated behind the scenes though.

I loved having fresh stages in Superstars! Those final bosses were nigh-on ridiculous, but I got there. Unfortunately, they are what is going to put me off replaying as soon as I might have. The frustration was unreal! But I loved it anyway. Great review :)
