if anyone wants to try it at home keep your soda just above freezing point 33F degrees or like 1C . take it out then give it a tap then it will freeze up like that. You can do this with a bottle of water and if you shake it, will turn into ice. The idea is to get it just to freezing point and when you give it a shake or that tap it moves the molecules just enough to set it to the freezing point.

Trust me, I'm a slurpee/slushie expert. This looks good, and it may taste good too. But it won't last long. A slushie is thick cut ice that will finish very quickly. A Slurpee is finely slushed ice, smooth creamy like, that'll last longer. 7-Eleven has the best Slurpees

Theyre sold at most hawkers stall because its much cheaper to refill them at the factory than buying whole new batch of tins.

You can achieve the same effect once the liquid is already poured into the cup. Once the lid is on and filled. Just gently tap the base of the cup onto the table and it turns into slushie

early 2020, i went to Thailand (my first, and only vacation), had all sorts of plans arranged to travel north from Pattaya to Chang Rai and Change Mai, but the Canadian government recalled everyone and i had to cut my trip in 1/2.
I really hope to make it to Chang Mai, and when i do, i'll have that coke slushie.
It was sad news. We are expecting to return to peaceful and normal life soon.
I hope you visit to thailand again and enjoy great thai food, beach, mountain etc 😁

If you shake it up and put it in the freezer for a few hours it will due the same thing. I have only done it with plastic bottles but it works

We do this in the states leave it in the freezer and take it out after 20-30 mints but looks good
It is not the same. Anybody can do what you did. If you look closely, each bottle was at its liquid state. Once, he tap the bottom of the glass bottle. Ice crystals started to propagate to entire bottle in seconds. If I remember correctly, it was discovered by a guy in Thailand accidentally tap the bottle of a beer and saw the phenominal.

Get a bottle of soda. It can even be a plastic one. Throw it in your freezer for a little bit take it out before it freezes completely and give it a tap. You can donthebsame thing with water bottles.
Because the liquid is under a bit of pressure in the bottle it won't freeze as easily as it would in an open glass when you tap it it gives the liquid inside just enough agitation to freeze and becomes slush. Its a pretty neat little science trick.

@Doodle Mann well they use salt ice water in these things so it gets colder faster I would assume for 2 reasons 1. it looks cool makes a nice noise attracts customers. And 2. Most likely to keep them from freezing completely while they sit there. You leave em sit there long enough they will just become ice cubes and not the desired slush

My freezer always does this to my Cola when I forgot the timing. At first, it look normal inside the bottle. It turns into soft ice from the moment you open the cap. I hate it because it reduce the gas of the Cola. Never thought there are people actual like this :p
