  • This is step-by-step instructions and a demonstration of how to feed your horse or mule by feed bag on trail. A feedbag, feeding bag, nose bag, or morral is a bag filled with fodder and placed over a horse’s muzzle. The horse can eat the contents of the bag with a minimal waste of feed. Please ask questions in the comment section and refer to the following links for additional information and updates. This was filmed at the Buffalo Trail Scout Ranch (BTSR) in the Davis Mountains of West Texas for the Horseback Trek Program aka Cavalcade.

    Note:
Watching this series will help those planning to ride at BTSR prepare for the experience. We encourage participants to watch these videos, with the understanding that a full Saddling and Tack-up demonstration will occur on the evening of your arrival, between feedings the next morning and shorty after breakfast by a qualified wrangler. Training will continue as horses/mules are assigned and geared up for the trail.

    Hey Group,
Just made it back to South a Texas for a month to edit and regroup. I’ve a few more of these horsemanship videos to upload before I’m back into survival. I don’t catch everything like I used to with the eye issues. It was pointed out that my shirt was more unbuttoned in this vid and that it might not be acceptable. Give me some feedback if you would. I’ll be more diligent in the future about checking such things. Hope everyone is well. Take care and as always...
    Until Next Time,
    Bob Hansler

Also, I’ve shot some longer horseback clips of heading down various trails. I don’t know if anyone enjoys those pieces at the end, but I’ve some extended clips that I can upload singularly. Is this something that one would watch? ASMR stuff I imagine.

Thanks for the idea Bob. I'm going to have to start putting some oats in my covid mask while I'm working. Great video by the way. On a serious note I am learning something from these videos.

Nice man! Really intresting, even though I never had to do anything on a horse. Whats the beautiful music called in the end?

Spaghetti Western. Looking for more like it. Love it.

What does it mean when they don’t finish their dinner? What is the feed made of? It’s probably loaded with vitamins and supplements huh? Cool learning. I always thought you feed em out of a trough like other farm animals. Thanks. Great to see you Bob.😃🍺

Really loving these horsemanship videos bro. I've always been interested in horses. Love the ride clips too. You ever give your horses treats? Just curious. 😎

Old bread, honey buns, and expired vegitables /fruits. They take care of us.

Nice trail ride. If it was wetter and greener and had less people it would look a lot like Chile. Jim

The feed might have soured, the horse may feel unwell, they might need more water or... any number of reasons. They need the calories so it’s important to keep an eye on it. Happens rarely and usually lasts for only a few hours. It is primarily sweet feed, sometimes containing oats, alfalfa and molasses. Good stuff.

Cool. A human could probably eat it in a survival situation.😃
