Wise words. Very few athletes in the world who's fathers, mothers or close relatives who were HIGHLY successful have managed to replicate let alone eclipse their parent's or relative's achievements. In F1, we have Nico and Damon as the only drivers who managed to replicate their father's chqmpionship winning success.
Not just in F1 but in many other sports how many times have we seen the children of great athletes fail to live up to the hype and expectations around them.
Michael Jordan's kids were not as half good as him. Sachin Tendulkar's son thankfully is not a batter, but is not exactly an outstanding bowler.
The pressure on Lewis's kid will be the same as what Mick is facing now. So it's wise to direct them on a path away from what you were successful in. You could try Carlos Sainz's route or you could try something competely unrelated.
But at the end of the day, if if his kid dreams to be a racer, he should let him race, but also prepare him for the inevitable pressure that will come.
