the president randy radio is ok, but the antenna falls apart. I have six radios and all the antennas they are not soldered welded or crimped. I had to buy tnc to bnc adaptors and use Midland antennas on each radio.

Mine is less than 1 year old, recently it has stopped charging. The battery currently is at 1 bar, I havent used it much since it stopped charging.I bought a new charger from president and the dock, nothing will charge it. As soon as the connector pins hit the charger on the bottom of the randy, the red light goes out and it does not charge. Any knowledge on how this can be fixed?

Hello Sir - I have a basic understanding of vhf / uhf transmission & reception in as much as geographical / obstacle limitations and would like to buy a pair of hand held cbs’ for the wife at home or in the garden (who is disabled )& myself when taking dogs across the forest and coastline perhaps up to 5 or 10 miles distant. Problem is I haven’t a clue about the equipment available. Could you recommend a quality set up for us ? The reliability or toughness is fortunately more important than the cost within reason ! Any advice is appreciated 😁🐢👍 from western new forest ps just something basic rather than something overloaded with extras we’re never going to use or need !

Very interested in this unit but can anyone answer a question for me, does the in car power plug also have the connection for a vehicle mounted antenna or must that be connected to the connector on the top of the set also can an external Mike be connected to the port on the side, this would be great if so as it would make a nice hand held and a mobile unit which would make this good value for money. Thanks in advance.

I would like to go down county lanes and field edges with something randy :) I had an early 80's one, forgot how we go. Was about 1994 or earlier, then a realistic, tandy one of the time 8 AA cells, had rechargeables in it, rubbish capacity compared to same cells now. as in the old amatuer radios, things got better. So where big then. CB now, still big compared to baofeng or any new amateur or something more commercial . pro use around those frequencies. A big new handheld.

I just recently purchased one of these and just sent it back. I had watched several videos about it and it seemed to get good reviews but was totally disappointed. I live a 1/4 mile from one of the busiest interstates in Chattanooga, the I-24 I- 75 interchange with plenty of truck traffic. I was getting it to just sit on the deck and listen to see what all was going on. I did just use the short antenna, thats all i bought it for, but 1/4 mile away from interstate all i got was static. I have had over 40 radios in my time, AM and 10 meter and this was the biggest waste of money ever. Luckily the company I bought it from made it right and gave me a refund. Disappointed in this one.

Money invested in project 2021 prices, Tooling costs for samples, Materials, R&D engineering time, firmware testing, approval certification's approvals, EU staff ,Marketing, import-export duties Brexit, shipping costs, Quality Controls & systems please add that lot up plus a percentage claw back, if you worked in electronics manufacturing you would understand retail costs. Its a take a big team of people to build a scratch built radio from ground up, thats why if you want a quality product in 2021 it cost's,if you want cheap and flimsy go buy other cheaper options out there, price is what it is mate, bit like cars. My comment to this one is if you think can do better show us and build one as a completive pricing @2121 rates, then come back here and quote final cost price to your profit margin built in? I think the price is fair for what you get VS some of the other not so god cb HTs out there, at end of day its down to personals preferences what you can and cannot afford.

These radios a simply too expensive. Baofeng can produce digital VHF/UHF radios for £60 and the sooner they produce 27 mhz radios the better.

Hi deviation is set to 2.00khz max beause new etsi stds using 8K0 F3E bandwidths ,older MPT-1320 standards are 11Ko F3E,so deviation would be higher typ 2.20 average,2.5khz peak, but this standard is now defuncted, why you are seeing this @2.00khz max,its not wrong its just old VS new specs .Ive explained this to Richard too ,purely becuase EU ETSI uses a narrower bandwidth @10khz channel spacing ,older UK specs uses a wider non recognized spacing system no longer used, its why you have the odd 1.25Khz add to the 10khz step!
Its also why new cb sets by manufactures dont recognize UK older MPT1320 specs as its defunct, just the frequencies only not the fm bandwidths used from old.
while that does not fix you problems, it helps to understand the reasons why its 2.00khz max deviation
also the RF Gen MOD levels- fm mod level in rx is now 1.25Khz (60%) for ETSI EN 8K0 F3E and 1.5khz(60%) for 11K0 F3E for older MPT-1320 UK specs,so SINAD will be slightly different, check also your using a 4-8ohm load resistor to simulate speaker across your sinad meter unless it has a load feature built in,that could affect your readings,I uses a metal heatsink resistor 4R or 8R load to the speaker socker 3.5mm plug,so radios sees a "dummy load"
Service mode is on that set google, ask richard.
I would make a test lead to inject a 1khz signal into mic port,1K load and blocking dc cap.
    about 35-50mV level
15khz filter on deviation meter NO ctcss
then go to dev adjustment in "service mode" set it max 2.20khz no more, BUT if going Europe EU band max deviation must be 2.00Khz max and no more, otherwise the peak deviation will over spill the 10khz spacing channels.
I have requested in past for CB manufactures to add in UK band a switchable fm deviation feature only in UK mode ,to get around this new VS old FM system unique to UK, so far no luck :(
Its why Richard has to tune them up for UK users only so work ok with older cb MPT1320 sets ,as those have a wider fm system.
New cb kit to New CB kit ETSI with UK band is not an issues by the way,its just a hang over of older cb kit still in circulations as technical approvals have moved on now.
The new ETSI approved kit actually has much better narrower fm filters VS the older MPT1320 cb,so sensitivity should be excellent on newer ETSI sets
Hope thats of some help to viewers, and helps explain the fm differences in new and older uk cb kit.
I suspect ETSI EN 8K0 F3E bandwidths are now super narrow fm mode,
as USA FCC going that way to on 27mhz
Good purchase Randy III,its Top Notch Kit wont disappoint and very well built to commercial grades, def NOT a toy.
Plus CTCSS equipped for new cb parrot repeaters and roip gateways in future offerings on EU cb band.
Best of luck ,great vids you do fab!
