Just had to come back and say thanks Will. I downloaded the show, and just hit a walk off bomb in the bottom of the 10th to go 2-1 on the season in DD. It felt incredible and I'm fucking hooked man.
BIG T, I'm just getting into MLB 23 also. Biggest tip I can give is be more patient on pitches, you have 3 strikes. Wait for a mistake pitch and don't swing at every strike. Run up the count. Get a good look at the pitches and the release point of the ball. Try looking at the pitchers hat and then moving the eyes to the hand. BUT RUN UP THAT COUNT! GL. Like so he can see man
I hate seeing a pitcher with sub 30 pitches in the 5th. You should be seeing 10 minimum an inning.
Much agreed! These are great tips. The biggest help for me was watching the pitchers hat and transferring my eyes to the hand to get the release point.

One thing that helped me was taking first pitch of every at bat but still tracking the pitch with your pci sometimes even taking til you get one strike works well, also it might help to turn off your outer pci cuz it can be misleading to how big your zone actually is.

If you are interested in getting better, you can always go in the main menu at the bottom to hitting or pitching practice and it can be set at whatever difficulty you prefer and it will improve timing and contact performance

I’ve been playing MLB for years now. My number one tip would be to find the pitchers pattern also what pitch their go to is. Most people when they need a strike will throw one specific pitch in one spot and pick up on what that is early. Also if you notice they are going slider away first pitch every time camp the PCI there. If you don’t have 2 strikes be selective. I pick my spot and if the pitch isn’t there I do not swing until I get 2 strikes.

I actually watched some tips and tricks videos for you yesterday so hopefully you read this lol. But the timing is actually simple because of the batters animation. As soon as the heel hits the ground the swing should start. As for the pitches.. to keep it simple make a line for the upper and lower half. Protect whatever you choose and if you choose low and the pitch goes high dont swing. After an inning you can check what the person is throwing against RHB and LHB in the pause menu. See their tendencies and then you can make the strikezone smaller. Now into 4 sections. Whatever their tendencies are, protect that to start. Then if you have 2 strikes, protect the plate
Oh and for pitching look up something called tunneling. Its the meta i guess lol
Yo BT to get the best pitching settings change your view to strike zone, it shows exactly where you want it placed and if you want an even better pitching tip change you’re pitching to pinpoint and not meter more precise

Few tips from someone that’s been playing for years:
First inning - take pitches until 2 strikes everytime until you see your opponents tendencies. (Most people pitch to people the way they hate being pitched to unless you show them you can hit)
Never use generate best team - it usually doesn’t generate the best team lol.
Put your pitching camera the same as your hitting camera (it helps you watch your pitcher and see the way pitches come in and break so you get used to seeing more pitches.
Practice on legend for 10 mins against a pitcher that throws 102+ (in practice you can make a pitcher pitch whatever type of pitch you want in whatever part of the zone) after the 10 mins allstar will look like rookie for a few games.
Also, learn pinpoint pitching. It’ll take a conquest game or 2 and it’s the most accurate.

BigT, first, move Henderson from left to center. The best speed should be in center to cover the most ground. Next if you are gonna attempt pinpoint pitching, you want to have the Pitch Trail on. It will show you where your pitches will end instead of where they will start. Pinpoint pitching is easy once you get used to it.
One tip I haven’t seen much is get comfortable with a team/players you like. Best generated squad is great but not always the best feel.
What a come back
Possibly try another pitching cam. It’ll help you see the placement of the pitch but also kinda give an easier perspective to time up the meter. Try the one you used in road to the show at first.
You need to get Seth to play with you. There’s 2v2 that would be a really good video. Also next time take bob Gibson he’s the best starting pitcher in the game and if not he’s easily top 3. And last piece of advice is to make sure you look at your players Clutch stat. It takes place of you contact rating when players are in scoring position. So if your player has 125 contact but an 80 CLT stat is takes place of the 125 when ever any one is one 2nd and 3rd. It’s a very important stat do not look over it.

To throw someone out who is stealing you just hit the button that corresponds to the base they are stealing a few times. Once the catcher catches the ball a meter will come up. When the arrow is in the green hit the button that corresponds to that base when the arrows match up.

the absolute most frustrating thing ever. Literally every inning "I need to get ahead of the count" "I need to stop swinging at shit" - big T then goes and swings at practically every ball! Then a ball lands in the strike zone and he lets its go "Oh yeah, i didnt want that" Then HE SWINGS AT THE NEXT PITCH THAT IS SO FAR OUT OF THE STRIKE ZONE. At first it was hilarious, after 4 videos and 3 innings into this video its getting ridiculous.

I've always like the Pulse Pitching. Its a little less accurate for some pitchers, but its by far the easiest one
crazy game. you threw a no hitter 7th thru 10th and he gave up 6 in the same span. Baseball is a beautiful thing just gotta stick with it.

You swung at the first pitch , a sweeping curveball out of the zone, every time. It started to get hard to watch

Bro, stop playing on rookie and stop using the pitching meter. Use pure analog if you can't figure out pinpoint and play on all star. It'll help you get better rather than playing on rookie. When I was new I started on all star. Gotta 100% get off that pitch meter though bro.
