    My oldest son is in his early 20's and he has type 1 diabetes. But thank God for this piece of article czcams.com/users/postUgkxVYhghKWmrUgXARZ_ydZTvmmcrw5L0I5i At first he thought he had the flu and was lying down on the bed for three days until his sister took him to the hospital. They took his blood and it was 600. What I do not understand is how he could have gotten it, since no one in the family has it. But he is winning the battle now. This is good stuff.

    *My daughter drinks lots of water and urinates with the same rate, there are no other symptoms to show if those have anything to do with diabetes. This is a good information that I have gone through **Diabets.Care** She is 2 years 9 months, hale and healthy, have not done any blood test. But I am not certain if one can get diabetes at such a tender age. Please I will like to know more on that*

      Some children will have Diabetes 1. As you are concerned see your baby doctor and make an appointment for her to be tested for Diabetes 1 and 2. Your doctor may not want to test her. Your MUST advocate (fight your doctor) demanding the tests! Because later if she becomes deathly ill you will hate yourself for not protecting her from the doctors wrong choices not to test her. Insist. Also, could be something else wrong. Enormous thirst and extreme amount of urinating could mean something else is wrong. Act on your concerns.

    The Monday following Thanksgiving I began my journey of low carbs and no sugar as a result of routine blood work that revealed some mounting issues. I was up to #240, tired, bloated and depressed. In searching for info I found your channel. I have been following the Carnivore diet with almost zero cheating for almost 6 weeks. Today I weighed in at #218, and I feel AMAZING!! My blood sugar is completely under control, no bloating, tons of energy and my skin and eyes look 5 years younger in only 6 weeks. Thank You Kait, you truly are appreciated.

    I've lost 9 pounds in 3 weeks so far and to be quite honest, I don't mind if I don't shed another pound! After starting keto I've felt so much better (although I did have the "keto flu") I'm not bloated anymore, wayyy less constipated, more energy, less heartburn and stomach pains, in a better mood. As long as I know I'm healing my insides day by day, I'm happy.

    Hi Kait, I really like your videos, I am learning a lot from them!
    I have a question. I have heard multiple times that meat (especially red meat, e.g., beef) can be unhealthy and even lead to cancer, if eaten too often. Assuming this information is correct, what should be the ratio of meat/fish/cheese/eggs in a week? (e.g., meat max twice, fish 3-4 times, etc)
    Also, how much time does it take to reverse insulin resistance?

    Hi Kait. In recent tests my doc pointed out to me that my insulin resistance is high and I'm trying to figure out how to change my lifestyle to adjust for this. Your channel has been the biggest help in this regard. Thanks a alot for that 😃
    I have a query. Most of the docs suggestions were very much in line with what you recommended. Except one place where both of your advise is diametrically opposite. My doc suggested to reduce portion sizes and eat multiple smaller meals all through the day since smaller portion size means smaller insulin spike. But you strongly advocate for IF. Doc's suggestion also sounds logical. I'm a little confused about this bit. Would love to hear your thoughts on this.
    Once again.. Thanks a lot for all the content you put out. Cheers ✌️

    • @pammmerz8153
      @pammmerz8153 Před 2 lety +8

      The way I understand it, your insulin will spike no matter what you eat.
      The key is to create not too high of a spike, and that the spike should not last too long...the best way to accomplish this for me is to eat maybe once or twice a day, perhaps a smaller lower carb/keto small meal or snack portion followed by a normal size or slightly larger low carb/keto meal after about 4-6 hours. The minimal carb intake ensures a smaller insulin spike, and eating in a smaller window of time ensures the spike has lots of time to come back down, and squishing the meals together ensures that i don't feel starved enough to eat something bad.
      The more time insulin levels have to come back down, the better.
      If you're eating 3 or more meals especially smaller portions, your insulin levels won't have enough time to come back down before you're really hungry and wanting to eat again.
      Best of luck to you!!

    • @msandyford8988
      @msandyford8988 Před rokem

      I am 5 years post thyroidectomy, I feel for you. Keto helped me a lot! I also recommend taking your synthroid or levo at night on an empty stomach (some even set an alarm and take it in the middle of the night) to ensure you’re fully absorbing it. Doctors and pharmacists recommending we take it in the am with only 30 mins before we eat is terrible advice. Fasting helps too! I stop eating by 6pm and take my levo at 10pm with no other meds, I take vitamins in the morning. I try not to even take Advil or allergy meds anywhere near taking my levo. It should be totally on its own in your system to work fully. Good luck. You are not alone and there is help. Fb support groups and forums are super helpful too!

    I loved the video! I have a question tho, I would appreciate if anybody can answer, I'm insulin resistant and on keto diet + IF for two months now, even though i've noticed a lot of changes (mostly mentally) I feel like i'm not loosing weight the way people do with keto, which is true because i do have insulin resistance. But I am just curious if I keep going like this will I be able to reverse IR at some point or do I definitely need medication? My doctor signed me medication but I wanted to try and regulate it myself first, I am doing everything correctly with keto (i'm really careful) I just don't know will I be able to loose weight at some point even tho i have IR. Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to answer, I really appreciate it❤️

      I was diagnosed with insulin resistance as well and gained 40 pds and could not loose the weight no matter what I did and I also did not want to go on any meds so what I did that worked for me was I cut out all sugars just drink lemon water and ate a low carb diet, a lot of chicken and salads with sugar free dressing and I do intermittent fasting as well I don’t eat after 9 pm until 5-6pm the following day, I don’t follow a keto diet except for desserts I make and I’ve lost the 40 lbs in 8 months, I hope what I did can help you because I truly feel your frustration

      Mila I am or too tried keto, lost pounds slowly but lost fat!! I after 6 weeks lost only 7 pounds but went from size 14 pants to size 8 pants in addition to so many compliments and feeling so much better mentally and my energy has been great. And my lab results looks like another persons. I’ve had to accept my fat was large and ugly but not as heavy as some people. Remember with keto the scales are not the best measure of success to us with it.

      I suggest you do a youtube search on DR. Ken Berry, and also on "Beat Diabetes" , you will find many video's that address your concerns. I also suggest that you may not be eating enough healthy saturated fats, sounds odd I know, but you have to eat fat to loose fat. A ketovore way of eating may also benefit you.

    Hi Kate I thought that if u combine carbs with protein and fat it was supposed to not spike ur blood sugar as much but in the video u said if u combine carbs and protein it spikes ur blood sugar more than just carbs? I’m confused

      Don’t overdo it. Skip carbs for one meal of the day ideally breakfast or dinner. Even this will make a big difference

    Will eating low in carbs like this help me at the gym? My poundage is getting higher and higher. This year, I will be focusing on more muscle growth. Hitting things harder like deadlifts, bench press, squats, etc. Will a low carb diet affect increasing the weight and also gym endurance?
