I'm Brazilian and I'm also a student of Russian culture. I can say that Russia is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, with unparalleled literature. I really like Tolstoy, Dostoevsky and Chekhov. I also say that Russia has some cities that are better than cities in America, such as Saint Petersburg, Moscow and Kazan. These Russian cities are clean and organized! 🇧🇷❤🇷🇺
I've been in LA many times. I lived in Russia several years and about six months of those in Moscow. Absolutely no comparison. LA is a crime infested hole. Moscow is not only one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but I would often take walks around anywhere from midnight to 4am in various parts of the city and always felt completely safe.

09:12 honestly, I agree with you. When the brands started to close their shops in Russia I thought it would be difficult to find decent clothes here. But surprisingly since then I've discovered a lot of different brands, especially Russian ones that I really like. So basically sanctions gave the opportunity for local brands to grow.

No, I never even thought Los Angeles could be a trash city due to idealistic view created by American movies and videogame for us here in Russia. Only recently I discovered so much problems with drugs, homelessness, dirt appeared in big US cities (or maybe they always existed but in smaller scale or info about them wasn't spread that wide). That brought a lot of disappointment to my child memories of ideal America in mass culture. So I'm glad to see there are still a lot of clean, beautiful and interesting places in Los Angeles even with current decay, because despite US being almost an age-old rival of ours, most of us never wished any misfortune to Americans, neither now, nor even in cold war era. Leave the conflict, negativity and anger for politicians, it's their job after all, not for common people

Having been to both cities multiple times, I'd say for me Moscow is 10 out of 10. Moscow Metro on its own elevates the city above any other major city I've ever visited. Also Moscow is incredibly safe and super clean, which for me is paramount.
I think a lot of people have lost purpose in America because just getting by is difficult. I've watched some walkthroughs of grocery stores in Russia. While impressed by the low prices, I wonder what most jobs pay there and how hard is it to buy a house or land.

The only thing that can upset me in Moscow is the weather. However, I would be bored in LA. As a Siberian, I am used to seeing all seasons during the year. As far as I know, the weather in LA is the same almost all year round. Modern Moscow is a great, prosperous and safe city, with which it is impossible to compare any other megacity in Europe and the USA.

Only one argument to make Moscow the winner, the Moscow Metro. Especially the red line built as the first line during the Soviet Union, it bears so much beauty and history!
You can't compare Los Angeles and MOSCOW. Monuments in LA are tour of Movistar houses, if you can see over close gates . In MOSCOW you need days and days to see all those historic and kultural things. In the state only meiby Washington and Boston and NewYork can be compare with MOSCOW and even all tre put together can bit Moscow.

To be fair, most cities have good and bad bits! I have been to Moscow, and it is beautiful! Just my opinion, but it's nicer than my own country's capital London.
Thanks for your input you’re 100% correct every place has its own beauty. Thanks for watching. Please consider sharing the video it helps the community grow.
I was in London in over a decade ago. Is it still difficult to find a trash bin? The trash strewn around our American cities is a shame, since we do have a lot of public trash bins, but I don't think they take it away often enough.
I came to Los Angeles from Moscow in 1999. Looking around I was asking: Where is Los Angeles! Haven’t I arrived yet!? After Moscow it seemed sort of trashy and mid century sort of village… We Russians knew the city from watching the shows Dynasty and Santa Barbara and thought of Los Angeles as a glamorous and sophisticated city…
Russia Moscow is light years ahead of Los Angeles now Los Angeles went back in time unfortunately but I hope it gets better. Thank you so much for watching this video. Please consider sharing the video to help the community grow.
@sashaswan-nq1ov - Oh please. This video and most of the comments are WAY off base. You must have been in Los Angeles, Texas, not Los Angeles, California. First off, Moscow is a city that was originally founded in the 12th Century, and Los Angeles was founded in the 19th Century and is built out completely differently. Secondly, “Los Angeles California” in the context of a comparison to Moscow Russia needs to be viewed from the perspective of Los Angeles County California. This is because the municipal city and zoning structures and laws in the United States do not exist in Russia. Therefore, comparing LA County to the Moscow metropolitan area: LA - 39 million people, Moscow - 21 million. Los Angeles is substantially larger in total metropolitan population. There is no question whatsoever that Los Angeles is far, far wealthy (in modern terms) than Moscow. A large concentration of the world’s wealthiest people live in Los Angeles, and have done so for over 100 years. Downtown Los Angeles is nowhere near the nicest part of the city - quite the contrary, which is why “skid row” as the CZcamsr called it is nearby. The apples to apples comparison would be either Century City or Westwood vs. downtown Moscow, and both areas are nicer by far than anything contemporary in Moscow. Red Square is, of course, an exception and it’s beautiful historic architecture has no modern day equal. In conclusion, on average the citizens of Los Angeles live WAY better than the citizens of Moscow. Few if any people in LA would trade places with their counterparts in Moscow - believe that !!
You are trying to compare the incomparable. When my friend brought her American husband to Russia for the first time, he constantly asked where the homeless and garbage were. In the USA this is the norm of life and they are very surprised that there are countries where this does not exist.
There are many american companies still operate in Russia, like Burger King or KFC, besides there are adidas or Nike stores too, also the stores like New Yorker and others have never left Russia. Most stores just have rebranded into new names and sell the same things as before. The stores like H&M or Uniqlo have been closed but they still pay rent in hope to return quickly when sanctiones will be lifted. There are also many substitutes occured, they mostly belong to UAE, China or Turkey owners... so almost nothing changed here.
No worries, local and chinese traders and manufacturers are happily and successfully filling up the deserted spaces. The only thing Russians are missing is high brand outlets /for modnicas/fashionistas who like glamorous clothes/ and young professional couples who miss Ikea for a quick young family furniture solving. But as I said, the locals are substituting fast and the chinese are also quick to supply with whatever fake brand clothes and shoes the women dream /they are even saying the fakes look sometimes even better than the originals, and also all high brands are being manufactured in China anyway, so it’s super easy to substitute within a short time with no problem/.😮
Three weeks ago I searched for winter boots in Moscow. Usually I bought top international brands, none of which in Russia are today. Or, at least for reasonable price. So I visited a shop of local Russian producer with relatively cheap price and surprised to see excellent quality boots with natural fur. Much better than I had before.. Kind a choke.. I bought two pairs. In general, I don’t miss international brands here.
So is Los Angeles. This video is off base, because downtown is not one of the nicer areas of LA. Therefore, its not a proper comparison. LA proper - Bel Air, Beverly Hills, Century City, Pasadena, and Westwood are all WAY nicer in every way than Moscow. No contest.

well, as a matter of fact the site you show in this video is NOT the "Center of Moscow", it is known as "Moscow City", a relatively new attraction designed exactly to LOOK like a typical American metropolitan downtown. What we call "Centre of Moscow" is Kremlin, the Red Square and the surrounding area within the Boulevard Ring. Even in the most relativist terms Moscow Center does not exceed the second circular Avenue: Garden Ring. (Moscow City is located outside the Garden Ring) So, Moscow Center may be directly compared to Washington (DC) downtown probably - both are not highrise.
Yes I understand its not the center haha its why I said in the video im just gonna call it that because usually in English we like to call anything the center where it looks like that thanks for watching and commenting. Please consider the sharing of the video it helps grow the community!
well, I will not support) Moscow city lays near Kutuzovskiy and White House, inside Presnya district) This is a quite important and vibrant district, attracting a lot of workforce, money, attention and deals every day. @@Akakikcha "Moscow City" is too young to be considered a part of central (downtown) Moscow, just about 20-ish years old, this former industrial zone had never been considered "central" prior to XXI century.

Compared to American cities, Russian cities are safe, clean, desirable and civilized. American cities are in decline with crime, homeless and decaying infrastructure. Americans are ignorant about Russia - a consequence of pitiful American schools and media.
I guess you're talking about yourself. America is a huge country comprised of 50 states. America is not just those big cities run by democrats who mismanaged them. American people just want to mind our own business. We have the individualistic spirit. So if you think we don't know anything about Russia or other countries, it's because we really don't care. We would rather mind our own business. The only time we care is when people start meddling our lives. So I'm happy for you. Just be happy for us.
Major cities in Russia are nicer and cleaner than in the US for the most part I would agree. But the US is a huge place and not all of our cities are like this. And the suburban and rural areas of the US are nice, safe, and well maintained.
@@mysongbitebro it’s not only democrats run cities because republican run cities are also 🗑️ with lots of poverty and crime even republicans run cities in republican run states such as Tulsa and OKC … lots of crime and gang violence. Bakersfield republican mayor and one of the most poorest and dangerous cities in California and they vote red. Fresno California another (R) mayor city. Stockton California another (R) mayor city with high poverty and bad crime. Rural areas in the United States that are predominantly republican controlled such as Appalachian states and the Mississippi delta region are poverty stricken and struggle with drug abuse & Filled with uneducated undesirable people. The problem is the United States is extremely dominated & oppressively controlled by 2 excrement parties & Americans are credulous enough to continue to vote for both parties.
@NuYoRican718 of course there is no denying we have crimes in republican run cities. However, democratic run cities are worse. I would never walk go to Trenton, Camden, paterson, Newark. Guess what these places are found in just one Democrat state. A very small one at that. New Jersey. In every city there is always nicer and not so nice but most of all democratic run cities are worst. There us no denying especially now. Russia is a homogeneous country probably 99% Russian. American is made up of different people from all of the world including criminals and people that we don't vet because of our politicians. Most of the riots are in the democrat run cities. Premier is in 9 minutes. Having lived in both, I can tell you right now, Moscow is WAY better. Moscow is a vibrant, capital city! Green parks, bars, nightclubs, theaters, art galleries, museums, ballet, and opera. If you can't find something in Moscow, you can't find it anywhere. Does Moscow have its issues? Sure, some homeless, bums, some crime, but multiply that by 10-fold and you have LA, especially the homeless situation. I remember the air being dirtier in LA. Everything is developing very dynamically. Moscow is changing rapidly, now there are no old quiet streets there, now there is a beautiful and dazzling remake and modernity. Quiet cities with ancient streets and buildings are more similar to European ones only in St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad. All cities of the Russian Federation, small and large, have their own identity and are undergoing major restructuring. In St. Petersburg, it is important to restore and preserve the historical value of the architecture of the center, and not to modernize modern houses. All high-rise buildings and modern architecture are on the borders of the central regions. Therefore, European and Sarin architecture is preserved. Moscow's approach to development is different.

I honestly loved Los Angeles saw new things never seen it at the center. But the further out you go it rotted. Moscow offers so much to the people and it’s much safer! thanks for watching I hope the video gets shared so it can open the eyes to some. thanks for your support
In Russia there is also not only McDonald's. For example, many Russians prefer shawarma as a quick snack. There is also a chain of fast food cafes "Teremok" that sells pancakes with different fillings. There is also a fast food chain “Kroshka Kartoshka” where you can buy potatoes with different additives to suit your taste. Georgian cuisine is also very popular in Russia. Russians are very fond of khachapuri (a Georgian pastry with cheese) or khinkali (something like large dumplings with meat and broth inside). I also like shoti (Georgian bread). There is a Georgian bakery near my house and I buy shoti there and eat it with milk.
That kroshka kartoshka potato place sounds so good to me. The only potatoes I can find are french fries and ready made mashed potatoes are in the supermarket which has to be heated. I looked up the Georgian Khachapuri and it sounds so much like the Serbian Komplet Lepinja, it was invented before WW2 but maybe the person took the idea from the Georgians lol. I never tried it though lol.
@@frostflower5555 It's hard to say what and from whom I borrowed. Or maybe just such an obvious recipe as baking with cheese could appear simultaneously in several places where, in principle, they eat bread with cheese.
It was good to see you so happy again Dan. I hope the comfort of being with your own people again provides you with enough comfort for now. I miss my tribe all the time and there is no place like being on my reservation. I can't explain it. Only another Native American tribal member would know. Everywhere else I'm the only one but there it's the opposite. Relatives surround me. ❤ You are a good man Dan. Yes the art work is something exclusive to 🗽 us. One of our good points. 💞 🇺🇸

Great video! I am Russian from Moscow and I do not miss American brands. Local brands are nice and new ones are emerging. By the way you demonstrated Moscow City district which is not the center of Moscow but a kind of business district located quite far from the historical district (Kremlin and around). For good and diversified graffiti you should go to the area aroung Kursky railway station. Enjoy your life in Russia, you will explore much more!

Here in Russia they say: it always seems that things are better someplace other than where you are. Every place has its own good and bad things. People fitted in the lifestyle they like.

The thing with malls you nailed - mostly it is all the same shoppes. Rarely it comes to be something special and unique inside. But now after some international chains left, a lot of such smaller and localized shops appeared. That is a good thing definitely. Re those who have left, like nike/adidas/... - nothing irreplaceble, alternatives are available, but they had some 'worldwide renown' vibe which some people miss. Btw, I like Mexican food a lot, its way better then McD-likes :)

That is not graffiti in Moscow. Those are actually the panels with prints on them. Three panels in the beginning end up with a number 305 I think. I'm not going back to check again. The sequences repeat themselves right to the end where the construction site ends. I believe it's advertising the modernistic-' exhibition forum' which has opened a few days ago.
I was waiting for this comparison. Thank you for this video. Moscow for sure, it has so much more class. The Mexican food looks delicious and i am sure reasonable in price.
I was there last year my friend, but I did not have CZcams. So I will go back to St. Petersburg next year the document it thank you so much for watching the video.
Yes, parts of downtown LA look like that but it’s a relatively small part and there are very beautiful and glamorous. In fact I walked through those streets the homeless were good behaved and I didn’t feel really in danger. The street art is very nice. Plus the homeless need to camp somewhere so why not in downtown.
When I was younger I liked LA and sun and Hollywood, but now in my 40s Moscow is a bit better option in my opinion. I am not Russian neither American. A bit strange opinion but it is what it is :) Btw Skid Row my fav band from nineties. Torta looks perfectly tasty

Hi, I’m from Moscow ^^ The video is great, but that’s a pity that actually the center of Moscow hasn’t been showed. This place is called Moscow City - it’s kind of a business area + mall, yes. But it would be much better if You showed Tverskaya street, Kitay Gorod and some parks at least :) I also would like to see more of LA parks or maybe different areas. Here in Moscow we have wonderful little village alike food courts in the parks, old street with small buildings in actual centre (closer to the Kremlin). If you check the map of Moscow underground - Moscow City is near Vystavochnaya metro station - not in the center at all ^^ Better check Tverskaya, Maroseyka, Myasnitskaya streets, Kropotkinskaya metro station, Gorky Park, etc. ^_^

No, I never even thought Los Angeles could be a trash city due to idealistic view created by American movies and videogame for us here in Russia.

@sashaswan-nq1ov -
Oh please.
In the USA this is the norm of life and they are very surprised that there are countries where this does not exist.
what are you talking about? It’s very comparable. Their population in size are very similar.

True

It’s not comparable, Moscow is very good, clean and comfortable city
So is Los Angeles. This video is off base, because downtown is not one of the nicer areas of LA. Therefore, its not a proper comparison. LA proper - Bel Air, Beverly Hills, Century City, Pasadena, and Westwood are all WAY nicer in every way than Moscow. No contest.
Can you believe Daniel, my friend, sent CZcams a story on Sludanka's train station. To be more specific, the video of the floor inside the station showcasing Baikal lake floor ( water flowing over stones).
She was in Sludanka, and she saw it for herself and was so impressed by the elaborate work and enthusiasm of citizens of Sludanka by showcasing the city's treasure, Baikal.
Now she and her friend will be watching your channel too.

@@Wild-Siberia yes way Instagram. I wasn't successful yet to forward it to you, via Instagram.
Lake Baikal, not a city :)
well, as a matter of fact the site you show in this video is NOT the "Center of Moscow", it is known as "Moscow City", a relatively new attraction designed exactly to LOOK like a typical American metropolitan downtown. What we call "Centre of Moscow" is Kremlin, the Red Square and the surrounding area within the Boulevard Ring. Even in the most relativist terms Moscow Center does not exceed the second circular Avenue: Garden Ring.
(Moscow City is located outside the Garden Ring)
So, Moscow Center may be directly compared to Washington (DC) downtown probably - both are not highrise.

That's because Democrats do not arrest criminals or druggies here anymore it's a shame what's happening to our country
Major cities in Russia are nicer and cleaner than in the US for the most part I would agree. But the US is a huge place and not all of our cities are like this. And the suburban and rural areas of the US are nice, safe, and well maintained.

So there no excuse.

Also i've heard about problems if you don't like afro-americans, gay, etc.
Actually, American dream to come to free country, work hard and become rich - have been dissolved by this USA crisis, crime and homeless level.

Because the amount of opportunities to earn money, have good medical care, and low crime level and low prohibitions is in place...

There is a Georgian bakery near my house and I buy shoti there and eat it with milk.
yes, I agree but I was just showing the new McDonald’s to the Western viewers. Does that make sense?
That kroshka kartoshka potato place sounds so good to me. The only potatoes I can find are french fries and ready made mashed potatoes are in the supermarket which has to be heated.
Google Maps

The thing with malls you nailed - mostly it is all the same shoppes. Rarely it comes to be something special and unique inside. I was waiting for this comparison. Thank you for this video. Moscow for sure, it has so much more class. The Mexican food looks delicious and i am sure reasonable in price.
thanks so much for watching. I hope you enjoy the video. Please consider sharing it helps the community.
Visit Saint-Petersburg and Peterhof, you will love this❤
P.s. to see fountains in Peterhof you should come in summertime
I was there last year my friend, but I did not have CZcams. So I will go back to St. Petersburg next year the document it thank you so much for watching the video.
This is fascinating.
thank you so much for thinking, so I appreciate the kindness things to for watching and commenting
Love this channel
thank you so much for the support. I truly appreciate it.
Wow thanks for giving your comment and opinion! Thanks for watching your insight is awesome! Please also consider sharing the video it helps the community grow :D

Good Job, bro) I live in Moscow and I really love my own city but I’d like to visit NY and LA to see the whole infrastructure there. The discovering of the new places is giving so much energy)
I think the best thing, for everybody is the travel and learn things about each other.
There’s a lot of zombies, who have no opinions, but what they see on the television.
Thanks for watching this video my friend. I appreciate your support.
whoa torta, I would love to try one. We don't have stuff like this where I live
Dan, have you been to Hollywood? And it would be cool to see your ocean!!! I liked your idea-when you communicate with the "other" Dan, it's cool!!!👍🤣 Who helped you with filming in Los Angeles?
I’m going to show our ocean our mountains everything
I watch Joe and Nic’s Road trips also, and I’m amazed at how America has gone downhill. So it’s not only LA, but many towns. So disturbing and disgusting that we don’t keep up our towns and cities.
That torta looks delicious, btw. 🎉😊
"За ближними" бросая их в пучину отчаянья преумножая скорбь.
thanks for watching my friend. the torta was delicious.
Very beautiful clean i am proud to the people of Russia for having clean subway , thanks and have a great day
Hey man! Tanks a lot for the content you make, it's huge;)
Responding to the question on some brands leaving Russia, first time that was kind of sad because of uncertainty what to buy in the future, but now I believe most of Russians don't even care about it, in general nothing has changed much.
Never been to LA, but I hope to visit it one day. I think both cities, LA and Moscow are beautiful in their own way.
P.S. Mexican food is awesome! Way better than McDonald"s
It’s why Californians usually eat tacos rather than burgers
I’ve ate at almost all Mexican spots in Moscow they were not so good so I would love to do that
@@Wild-Siberia I can wish you good luck! There are still many niches in Russia for the earnings of enterprising, active people, try it!👍👍
@@Wild-Siberia😊When I lived in US I liked to eat Mexican food.. And I miss it here.. I miss Taco Bell, and some Mexican restaurants I used to in Denver CO.. Miss bean burrito, tacos, Enchiladas.. OMG.. So as a Mexican American u have a good chance to fill this void here.. 😊
@@Wild-SiberiaI miss bean burrito, enchiladas, Mexican tacos.,guacamole .OMG..It is so good.. U have got a good chance to fill this void and become rich..
Mexican food is better than McDonald’s 😊
That’s 100% true thanks for watching please consider sharing the video to help the community grow
Of cource mexican food is yummie and far better than McDonalds. To be fair McDonalds is not really food it's sort of outdated, tasteless cheap snack.

Thanks bro it's wonderful video from two great cities! I lived in both of them. And honestly I don't like both of them too haha. St Petersburg obviously much way more beautiful but it's simple terrible during winter. Probably I like Sludyanka from all these mentioned cities lol. I also like horchata! And honestly Mexican food is very delicious 😋🤤 will definitely try to find some good Mexican places around Berkeley where im living right now
do you know what Saint Petersburg is for sure probably the most beautiful city in Europe hands-down. thanks so much for watching the video. Please consider sharing it so that the community can grow.
my dear friend, I lived in Russia for almost 2 years. Look at my old videos from Siberia. I love Russia. I am proud of you and your friends for not missing any western brands. This is good stay strong.
As a russian I have to say that taco looks better than Big Mac😅
My friend that’s a Torta like the taco but we use bread 😅🙏🏻 thanks for watching I hope you enjoyed please consider sharing the video it helps the community grow 🙏🏻
yes if course I war Шаурма but Mexican food is nothing like this 😅
Russia is generally clean not only in Moscow. I lived in a small southern city in Russia called Stavropol and it’s absolutely very clean and green. Every Russian city I visited looked almost the same if not better. They also pay attention to beauty and decorations.
I live in a small Siberian town it’s very clean there
nah, ofc we have nikes, adidas, apple, etc. i live in one of Moscows best districts(CAUTION!! personal opinion here) btw its CSKA metro station. Apple in RU is now called Re:store or smth, Nike is also called some different name prolly.
My friend, the center of moscow when said in English is the center of the part of moscow im oin. I have already shown parts of the center of moscow in other videos. I will also be going back to live in Moscow for months to better document the city. I appreciate your kindness in how you shared some knowledge! I appreciate you!
I’ve lived in Moscow my whole life. But I liked LA as well in this video. I looks nice despite the problems. The art is amazing!
yes, actually I ended up loving Los Angeles. I will be making more videos from inside of the city soon and comparing them again to Moscow. Thanks for watching this video my friend.
thank you so much for watching. I appreciate you.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 such a funny comment. I’m so sorry I hope you eventually got something to eat that you liked. Thanks so much for watching this video. Thanks for this brilliant funny comment. Please consider sharing the video
Moscow in every aspect, even without a beach, its the only Russian city I've been and I've been to several cities in the US, Moscow beats them all easily.
hands down, one of the best videos you have made so far. But you need to improve the mic.
The microphone is broken in both cities. You’re absolutely right there was microphone problems.
