Russia does not honor any deals. There would have to be some kind of immediate and meaningful consequence in place to stop Russia from "breaking" any future agreements.

Read Merkel and Johnson and you understand that it's West who doesn't honor deals.

Its challenging for sure. US is already reversing course on things like uranium and nuclear power because of sanctions and reliance on Kazykstan or Africa. Think they long ago started reversong course on anything and everythin unique to this conflict ie 155 mm shells and rampin up production as they have. Its huge step backwards for environment or "green" topics in a lot of ways its a mutual assured destruction right? Even if conflict is avoided everyone has made so many changes sad to be back focused even more on oil, armor, and resources than normal.
You are right, sadly. Where is a problem? NATO expansion east and Kiev 2014 coup financed by US $5 billion according to now fired Victoria Nuland. Why did US do that to Ukraine? Ukraine election was coming soon in 2015. This plunged Ukraine in to civil war and economic demise to Europe due to Russia sanctions. All in the name of US desire to preserve Old World Rules. Americans print $ the rest of the world sweat and deliver Uncle Sam goodies we like.

I lived in Geneva for one year. My impression of Switzerland is pretty much the same impression. I have with corporate America. Is all about money. Swiss love to claim that they’re neutral. But like I say, my impression is everything to do is about money..

Two choices for the West - either intervening directly and fighting Russia on its own, or starting serious negotiations with Russia on the topic of Ukraine’s NATO membership and, more broadly, security in Eastern Europe.
The first one the west has no resource base to turn trillions of Euros in to tanks.
The second one you need to read AGAIN this dreadful Putins Dec 2021 ultimatum on rolling back NATO borders to 1996 state. On Dec 2021 US spat on it due to Ukraine NATO proxi forces were primed and ready to fight Russia. These forces been ground up and spat by Putin.

This invasion NEVER had anything to do with NATO. This had EVERYTHING to do with destroying Ukraine's national identity, and if Ukraine refused to submit, Russia would inflict scorched earth tactics, which it is doing.

Russian objective is to force erratic Zelenskyy (the Economist described Zelenskyy literally screaming at his generals nowadays) to shuffle his remaining reserves (most of them exist only on paper at this point) to try to plug numerous holes. These senseless Zelenskyy actions will only increase the number of holes and precipitate Zelenskyy regime demise. In his interview to Reuters Zelenskyy (he is such a big mouth) basically said that unless NATO would immediately start fighting Russia in Ukraine with NATO troops on the ground and in the air Zelenskyy regime would go down. It reeked of desperation.

What will happen to Ukraine? Study what happened in the summer of 1944 to German army group Center. Soviets called “Bagration” sweep. Name comes from 1812 war after famous Russian general Bagration who led Russian hussars all the way to Paris, France chasing what was left over from French Grand Armey. The only difference hussars paid for all French drinks they had in Paris while Napoleon hooligans set Moscow on fire.
