Sherwood is talking like Barca are some average team without Messi -- they've won eight of the last eleven La Liga titles. You can't do that with one player, no matter how good he is. I've got this as a 50/50 tie personally, but that's only because Liverpool have a great setup to exploit Barca's weaknesses in the half-spaces and are superb on the counter.

You've got to make it a team effort and try te accept that Messi is (probably) going to do genius things, no mater what you do. In fact, you might argue, focussing on Messi that much is contr productive, because the effort does not reap the result the efforts are worth (ie more space for other barca players)

Messi showed in the quarter finals, you can kick him all game, a few elbows in the head, despite a quiet game, he still made the assist... and when you slack off? He punishes you. Barcelona aren't the team they used to be... so when Messi is double teamed, they don't have as much attacking threat, but I'd expect Barcelona to take care of Liverpool comfortably.
