Beam and column support is must. no compromise on that
Love the vision! Can’t wait to see how it all comes together… Would like to see all the costs. We need a shop too, SO BAD! So looking for some less expensive alternatives…. Very inventive.
I’ll do a breakdown video!
I’m still shaking my head over the stacked on it’s side but you have your reasons. That shop is gonna be badass boss
Thank you!
It was a challenge getting up there on its side no way I could have up right. Would have been way too tippy with skid steers. Would have had to get a crane
@@tandtlandscapeandmasonry could have welded a pivot on the corner..... tipped up right then cut the pivot off. no harm no foul. looks good
@@MrNobody-gi3gj thank you! Just wanted everything welded together that’s why it’s on side upright would be just on one not all
@@tandtlandscapeandmasonry A crane would have cost $600-$800. Would have been the better / safer way to go.
well done, great design. Well supported, and great size.
Thank you!
Thats awesome!
Thank you!
This is nice, good job man.
Thank you!
Thanks for the ideal
No problem
Looks solid. Personaly I wouldn’t but everything. It may not make the building collapse but will 100% alter the integrity of it.
I would maybe cut a few small doorways.
Thank you for the advice!
Nice shop 👌
Thank you
Looks great. Im building a similar size one in the the spring, but will be using 20ft pieces of used metal trusses/rafters (kind you see in big stores) between the two containers.
What is the reasoning for putting the one container on its side vs vertical?
Nice! That will be cool. And to connect them all and be able to open the doors so I can get in it
Did you just screw or toe nail the trusses into the 6x6... or use hurricane type of straps?
Threaded bolts and nuts and also screwed.
Great build! Where did you get your roof trusses? I am looking to build something very similar. Waiting on a quote for steel trusses, but I am also considering wood trusses. Thanks
My contractor ordered them in not sure where I can ask him
My father and I own F&J concrete out of Livermore. if your thinking about a slab we would love to work with you guys
No shit small world! And I’ll definitely reach out for a quote in spring!
@@tandtlandscapeandmasonryI’ll vouch for F&J great quality work.
What was your reasoning for using shipping containers vs just doing post frame? I'm in Kansas and the cheapest 40ft containers i can find are $3k plus delivered. With that money I could just do a simple pole building and put rafters 8ft on center. Maybe you already had them, just curious.
I got estimates of over 100k for a 48x40 shop. This way was 48k and also Wind and fire proof to some extent.
Thats wild. I built a wood framed 40x70x14 for that. Including concrete. @@tandtlandscapeandmasonry
Honestly it looks plenty rugged enough. I probably would cut all of the container wall out as it might mess with the integrity of it. I would definitely do like a white metal ceiling and then insulation in the ceiling. Lights I’d get some good quality LED lights. Maybe do 6” slab for a floor would be a sweet idea. But it looks like a pretty sweet shop.
Thanks for the advice! And yes I was definitely considering a slab next year
I love it, but price wise, how much would cost same size shop without container vs with the containers??
Cuz i bought one 40' for my property, it was 2 grand delivered.
Gunna assume a lot more. My contractor said like 150ish for a 40x48 shop
@@tandtlandscapeandmasonry150 grand ??? For 40x48 ?? You serious?
@@GligorovDimce ballpark fully finished yea
@@tandtlandscapeandmasonry thats very salty. How much would cost you with the containers? Roughly
@@GligorovDimce what u see in the video was 48k everything but I actually traded 31 k with the contractor for a retaining wall job. So I actually spent 17k
What a waste of money, all you needed was some I-joists, plywood and metal roof panels.
The quote for that was more expensive. Also the walls a fireproof and stronger
@@tandtlandscapeandmasonry crazy that’s more expensive now! I did i-joists with 40’ side door containers pre-Covid and trusses was more expensive.
I hate you waisted so much money and materials on that. A steel truss structure would have saved thousands and time , I guess was learning experience. Costly one though.
Including trading work I did this cost me 16,000. I got a quote for a wood structure for 150k ball park. This was so cheap it boggles my mind honestly. How could it be any cheaper? Not including trade work and not including doors it was $48,500. Steel structure quote I got far exceeded that as well!
@@tandtlandscapeandmasonry Not talking about steel building Talking about roof materials!! Steel trusses used a lot less materials.. also goes up a fraction of the time. Sorry dude, done been thru the same thing your doing , and again depending on your situation with work crews..
@@Gearswapper I got a quote from steel master for the roof and it was 4800 more then the wood trusses quote. Just checked my emails
@@tandtlandscapeandmasonry steel master is a rip off, those buildings collapse under snow they are weak . Look up steel pole barn trusses. They bolt together in the middle and will bolt right to your container. All you have to do is attach the cross runner 2x4 in the middle in slots they come pre welded. Then attach your metal roofing and you’re done!! They use them in different applications now including chicken houses on farms , barns etc.. you can install them in just a few hours with only a 2 man crew and a lift.. Good luck , 👍
@@Gearswapperahhh ya should have looked into them. Still for what I invested I think it’s very cheap and also good
