- Super fun day offshore fishing in Hatteras North Carolina. Got bites in many different ways, but getting the fish to the boat was impossible at times. Drop a comment below if you've had success using any particular methods to land tunas around sharks.
My tuna popper setup:
Rod: Fenwick HMG Inshore 8' Heavy
Reel: amzn.to/42zJBHs
The popper I use:
amzn.to/45DES7T
Braid:
amzn.to/3QNPyN2
Leader:
amzn.to/3SyROHf
Speed Jig:
amzn.to/3UBPuBR
My Jigging Setup:
Reel: amzn.to/3SUpEba
Rod: amzn.to/48hTwTc
Hell of a trip. Those boys know what they’re doing. Sweet boat.
Cleaning fish again huh Nolan?
Those sharks have definitely learned how to make a good living since jigging for tunas started 25 years ago. Best to wait for the popper bite.
Good work Nolan cranking, bleeding, icing and filming! Thanks!
Popper seems to be by far the best way to land tuna in sharky water. In my experience we land most yellowfins on it even when sharks are really bad on the troll. Think the low diameter braid may let them swim away faster and sharks give up.
those guys could probably outfish the fleet
Hi Nolan. thanks for the videos, i have enjoyed them so far. Could you give me the info on this particular boat you were on this day?
34' Venture
What Shimano rod are you using for that jigging and is that’s talica 16 on it
