    Queen are the only band where every member has written a hit. Sorry to disappoint but this wasn’t actually a live performance. It was the studio recorded song and they made the music video look like a live concert. It doesn’t take away from it in any way though. I’m loving watching your reactions. I can see you are amazed, and you are more genuine than some reactors who are obviously just trying to get likes from Queen’s huge fan base. Love of my Life live in Rock in Rio will blow your mind. Who Wants to Live Forever live in Budapest, Freddie is flexing his stuff like no one else can. Under Pressure live in Wembley, Freddie at his charismatic best, with the crowd in the palm of his hand. You Take my Breath Away live in Hyde Park, just Freddie and his piano, utterly beautiful. But possibly their best is White Queen live at the Odeon Hammersmith 1975. So many epic performances, so little time!

    Fun Facts: Don't Stop Me Now is scientifically proven to be the happiest song ever on earth. And science has proven that Freddie Mercury is the best singer of all time with the highest vibrato range. Also, Queen's performance at Live Aid has been named the best performance ever. Oh yeah, and Brian May was just voted this year as the greatest rock guitarist of all time.

    You need to watch Queen Live Aid 1985 Full Set. It's a 20 minute video but it is well worth it.
    Live aid was a concert to raise money for the famine that was taking place in Africa in the 80's. It took place in London and Philadelphia over a span of 16 hours. There were dozens and dozens of groups performing and each group was allowed 20 minutes for their set. There were near 80k in Wembley in London and around 90k in Philadelphia. Each location took turns showing their acts and spectators would watch giant TV screens of the acts at the other venue. It was also broadcast live on BBC and MTV. There was an estimated 1.2 BILLION viewers.
    Well as many say (I'm one of them) Queen stole the show. They blew it out of the water. The entire crowd was into the performance more than anything I have ever seen and watching it sends chills down my spine. The quality of Freddie's voice live in an era before autotune is simply amazing. You need to watch it even if you don't react to it. You will love it. Have a great day

    Note his t-shirt, which you can see best toward the end when his jacket is wider open. It says Mineshaft, which was a “members only” 😂 NYC gay bar where, well, anything and everything was going on. 2 of my friends who died of AIDS in the early ‘90s, who I helped care for until the end, were partners, both infected before they got together. One was a loyal serial monogamist who said, “I didn’t even have any fun getting AIDS.” His partner, a psychiatrist who was extremely promiscuous would laugh and say, “I had a great time getting it!” I think Freddie would have been in the latter camp, and this song shows his exuberance more than any other. The lack of the loss of their senses of humor, these friends and others of mine I lost, and Freddie’s laughter and singing until his final days says a lot about who these men were, I think. God bless Mr. Fahrenheit. God bless them all.

    So young, bursting at the seams with life in this song. Mmmmh, next song. Rival comment - I am partial to Who Wants to Live Forever but Live in Budapest. Both soar but there's a bit more stage drama in Budapest to my eye. Each has its own magic - no argument. And agree that Save Me is special... One of those examples where Brian wrote it but you would swear it was coming from Freddie's soul - they may have butted heads as band members but the thread between them is so tight musically... in fact, it was that way between EACH of them.

    • @3ScotsInk
      @3ScotsInk Před 3 lety

      He was living in NYC at this time, living his authentic self, and having the time of his life. His loss is tragic for us left to mourn, but maybe not as sad for him, even at the end. From the time he was a boy he said often that he’d never make “old bones.” Seems he always believed he’d die young. And who knows? Maybe since he’s left us he’s having a ball without hardship, fear, or pain. Long live Freddie & Queen.
