  • Hi, I am Carl Mazur and this is my first try at a tree ring acrylic paint pour using an acrylic fluid painting technique. This video tutorial is for beginners who enjoy abstract art, fluid art, fluid painting, colored art and more. Acrylic fluid painting is my passion and I have a unique way of teaching others how to paint. I love comedy and love to have fun with the process.
    Some people call this liquid art, or flow art. I use acrylic paints, silicone, water, Floetrol, glue and that is my fluid painting supplies. My fluid art ideas come from various sources. I love to watch other fluid artists and how they make their cells or create their flow art. Then, I make my own spin off.
    Flow painting ideas can be hard to come by nowadays.
    Flow art supplies are pretty easy to shop for. I spend a lot of time at Michael's or JOANN craft stores. I get most of my painting canvases at Michael's while they are on sale. They usually have art supply sales.
    There are plenty of flow painting videos here on CZcams to watch, and I am glad that you found my channel. If you ever wanted to learn how to paint, now is the time. It's a real hot item right now. These paintings look great hanging on the walls too!
    Have fun painting with me and I hope to see your comments in the comment section. I would love to hear from you.

    Beautiful! I think that I have been making my paints too thin. You have a lot more body to yours and the tilt looks much easier and keeps the blend better! Thanks for showing the thickness of the paint with close ups. I am going to adjust my mix! Thanks Carl!

    Hey Carl, totally thinking of doing some cool DIY paint projects such as the ones you do! Thanks for the inspiration. I had one question though! What does the Elmers glue help with? -Justin

    • @CarlMazur
      @CarlMazur  Před 3 lety

      Justin... The glue acts as a binder to the paint. Gives it something to mix to. Sounds weird I know. But you'll see. Thanks for your comment

    Morning Carl! is the black you painted the canvas with the same mix as the colours?

    • @CarlMazur
      @CarlMazur  Před 4 lety

      Yes. By Artist’s Loft brand. But it’s called flow acrylic on the side of the bottle. It comes in larger bottles or containers.

    You didn't use silicone oil in this project. What is the purpose of silicone oil and when is it supposed to be used?

    Not seen both glue abd flotrol?

    • @CarlMazur
      @CarlMazur  Před 4 lety +2

      I love using both. As the glue binds with the paint really great and the Floetrol helps thin the paint and helps against cracking at all.

      @bethmoon9656 Před 4 lety +1

      New question. I’m an artist also, I’m listed with The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Finding a paint sponsor has been difficult. Any pointers from one artist to another?

    • @CarlMazur
      @CarlMazur  Před 4 lety +1

      Beth, if you grow your CZcams channel the sponsors seem to come to you. I have them all the time hitting me up. Arteza brands for one. That’s all I know

  • @walker6828
    @walker6828 Před 4 lety +1

    Why do you use glue?

    • @CarlMazur
      @CarlMazur  Před 4 lety +1

      The glue ask as a binder to the paint. I know it sounds weird and it’s really weird using glue in paint but it works really well
