Acrylic Fluid Painting on Canvas Board - Arteza Review

  • This is my review for the Arteza Acrylic Paints and Canvas Boards. I used a fluid painting method along with a palette knife method and a swipe technique on the fluid art. Also used Elmer's Glue and silicone to create the effect of the fluid painting cells. For the palette knife effect I used regular acrylic paint like the colors gold, copper, black, maroon, silver, sienna brown and a little bit of parchment color for the abstract look.
    For the final coating I used Liquitex Gloss Varnish on both paintings.

    canvas boards won't warp if you spray the back with water to balance the wetness :))) It really works. Same method with sagging canvas. Even now you still can straighten the warped boards by wetting their back and putting them for a day under something flat and heavy (before varnishing I guess....) Thank you

      Margott44 , do you spray with water before pouring paint, during the pouring process or after it has dried?

    If you put a clear finish of some sort on the back, it tends to balance the board and might limit the warping.

    Hey Carl, use your empty used paint bottles for these tubes. Clean the used bottles with paint thinner, rinse really really well, then dry really well. Add these paints. reuse and reduce law... LOL! OH! I got some beautiful cells from a hair product by Organix.... "LIQUID GLASS", it is a sleek 'n shine for hair and preformed great, for me that is..... I'll try to send you a shot of a new skin and board painting I did 5/15/2018.

    Love the sideways swipe!!! I also enjoy and appreciate the shout outs to other artist. It says a lot about you as a person and an artist!!! Great video!!!

      Thanks Crystal. I sure try. I know the fluid art is becoming more and more cluttered now as others seek to do it and share on CZcams. But I always feel the need to share the love.

    Carl is there a video explaining why you prefer the embossing tool over a torch?

    As always beautiful! What kind of silicone was that. Those cells were crazy. That's why I love to watch you, you experiment, and that's what I need to see. 😉

      It’s called Swiss Navy lube. I mean heck if the Swiss use it... It’s got to be good! 😆😆 I don’t recommend using it though because it’s too thick. I notice a month later it still hasn’t worked itself out of the paint.

    Carl, can I ask, do you add any water at all in your glue or is just the straight white PVA as it comes from the bottle?
    Trying to source pouring products here in the UK is quite difficult, fortunately, the Arteza brand has only recently arrived in the UK and are on offer at the minute so I think I'll give them a try.

    my boards warp in summer when humidity is high,so i use them only in winter when air is dry ,

    • @CarlMazur
      @CarlMazur  Před 6 lety +1

      Huh. That’s interesting. Here in Southern Utah our air is so dry it’s at a staggering 11% humidity at times. Maybe it was my sense of humor that warped them? 😆😆

    Is there a special reason you prefer distilled water to just regular ol’ (free) tap water? Asking for a friend... 😂
