Allie Schwarz except a lot of people can't go to New York City and see a broadway show often...like I've always wanted to go there and I love the few songs from Amelie that I have heard, but I can't go see it cuz it's too expensive to get there and stuff
+Turtle H I understand. You're nor personally responsible for the musical closing... but it wasn't just you who didn't show up. Practically nobody came to see the show ("nobody" compared to the number of people claiming to be Pippa's mega-fans). The producers thought they had a sure thing, with an established star at the helm, but when it came down to it, fans would rather pay hundreds to see Philippa's replacement play Eliza than pay $47 to see Philippa in person playing a new role ($47 is what Amelie tix cost now).
a good number of the people claiming to be Pippa's "mega-fans" as you say are kids, and if they're anything like me they most likely wouldn't want to go through the trouble of asking their parents to go see Amelie, no matter the price, (and even though they want to support Pippa as much as possible) when they can keep up with the musical while hanging out online instead. Hamilton isn't new to us, i think it's just that people would rather pay hundreds to see Pippa's replacement play Eliza on broadway because they're already familiar with Hamilton being a big hit and tickets already being high-demand. the storyline of Amelie is too new for the young audience of Hamilton to get used to, and Pippa on Hamilton didn't garner the musical's success alone. but I understand what you're saying, seeing how these people claim to be "mega-fans" but don't show up despite the ticket prices being so cheap (compared to those of Hamilton). I feel so bad for Pippa!

She was there to promote "Amelie," not "Hamilton." It didn't work: Amelie is a major flop, closing less than 8 weeks after opening. It lost a ton of money. You won't be seeing Philippa Soo on the talk shows for a while.

I love Pippa! Her voice reminds me SO MUCH of Julie Andrews. It's smooth, soothing, and sounds very angelic too with her range. I am sad that I just got into the Hamilton Fandom after it's release on Disney+ and I will never get to see Lin, Pippa, Leslie, and Chris play their roles in the show live. For me, they are the ONLY Eliza, Alexander, Aaron, and George Washington there ever was and is in terms of their acting/singing I mean, because yes, I know that their characters were based on actual people.

She loves theater, so she made a professional mistake by following her heart: after leaving Hamilton she should have joined an established TV series to establish her as a celebrity (her stint on "Smash" doesn't count, and her voice-work on Moana is irrelevant).
Instead, she did 3 musicals in a row, and the result is that theater fans know her but nobody else does.
This is a problem if you've got a Broadway theater to fill 8 times a week, and you've got a musical based on a French movie from 2001 that only grossed $33 million: few Americans saw "Amelie."
Most of all, the producers forgot that while she is a rare talent and she was a beautiful Eliza, Pippa didn't drive Hamilton's ticket sales. Seeing Philippa play Eliza was a bonus, but it was never the point of buying a ticket to that show.
Can you imagine the level of beautiful perfection that Philippa Soo and Julie Andrews standing next to each other must have caused?!
