What does this society without police look like? Because I fail to see it as anything other than a fantasy.
The police are kinda needed.
Now yes, I will be the first to admit that in some countries the police are corrupt and have too much power. Like the USA for example. I'm even all for defending the police in order for the funds to go to things like health care and education.
But abolishing the police entirely seems like a really bad idea. Crime will still happen and so a a trained civilian task force should deal with things like robbery and other far more deplorable crimes.
Now yes I do understand that a safety net for the most vulnerable of society will help in crime prevention, hence why I would support moving police funds to public services, but thing is perfect and thus no safety net can catch everyone unfortunately.
Honestly despite my criticism against law enforcement I don't think we should remove it entirely.
As much as I understand the anti-cop sentiment I can't ever fully support getting rid of the police completely.
I just want to understand your point of view of why getting rid of the police would work out for the better. I hope I haven't sounded rude or arrogant, I just want to have a discussion to gain better understanding of your beliefs, and I hope you can understand my position as well.
