  • Pomegranates are easy to grow from seed, whether you have fresh seeds from a store-bought fruit or dried seeds for a nursery or storage. In this video, I show you step-by-step how to germinate the seeds as I grew some seedlings through their first year. I’ll also show you how our mature pomegranate trees grew their fruits over the past few years.
As of the video release date (3/06/2021), the seedlings are recovering from a state-wide Texas freeze event that happened between February 14th-19th, 2021. Here’s a timeline of what happened (San Antonio): www.ksat.com/news/local/2021/...

I plan to make a follow-up video of the seedlings as they recover from the winter storm and grow into their second year!: (pending; check back in Fall 2021)

Hello from India. Amazing plant, you should try to make a bonsai of it

Recently planted a couple and roots have already sprouted from the seeds.
Going to keep a couple for bonsai and the others I will put in a bigger pot to let them grow.
Probably won't be putting them in full ground. I live in a temperate climate and I'd have to put them in a very sunny or well-protected spot in the case extreme frost were to hit (it'd probably be fine - "oceanic" temperate climate - though I don't want to take the risk); besides it's not native so it doesn't really bother me.
Apparently it's an amazing plant for bonsai and I've wanted one or two for quite some time now.

You forgot to mention they grow in South America. They’re abundant in Peru.

As of March 29th, 2024, the seedlings are four years old! I have about five seedlings, and they’re waking up in the warm weather.
I plan to film them this spring for an update! 😊
