    Hello Shamrockgirl, nice video! now we are in September and my tree is full of baby cherimoyas and at the same time, the whole tree is full of new branches and leaves. Do you recommend it gets a trim so nutrients will go more into the fruits, instead of the branches/leaves? If yes, how much do you trim? thank you!

    Grown some Jackfruits this year. Put the seed in the soil and they sprouted in Spring. They grow straight and have fuzzy leaves. They are thriving in partial sun. Now moved them to get more sun. They are in one bucket and will have to split them up someday. Jackfruits does not like the bucket, but they should be fine for a couple of years. Then you need to plant them in the ground as they grow huge. If pot is the only option, then the minimum size is 30 gal with 45 gal as idea for fruit production. Any bigger you need super man power to move them.

    I was able to grow it from seeds. 2 trees was able to grow fruit fairy fast within 3-5 years and are multi trunk. You may want to skip the first 2 years of fruits as they as small and tasteless. Later after growing it over 6 feet tall, I was able to get giant Pomegranate. Softball size fruit. One of them tasted like fruit punch. The other one all have the end rot and I could not taste the final product. The mother tree is unknown and grow isolated from the other Pom. This year, my 3rd tree was able to fruit. 3 fruits on the tree and just like the other 2 trees from the beginning, the fruit is small. The only difference is, the flower was deeper red and the fruit skin appear to be deeper red too.

    It got scorched cos you did not acclimatise the plant to the sun, from growing inside the house. Put it out for an hour at first then increase an hour daily. Start when the sun is not at its zenith to avoid scorching. Tammy still would of recovered if you left her outđŸ€—đŸ€—đŸ‡ŹđŸ‡§

    If I tried to pollinate my dragon fruit and have had no fruits form on 4 of them do I assume I have self sterile and now need different pollen. How can I determine what variety I have or is this something I have to wait and see once I have successfully pollinated with a different pollen

    • @shamrockgirl804
      @shamrockgirl804 Pƙed 28 dny

      If the flowers are not producing fruit with their own pollen, it's safe to say it's a self-sterile variety. It's difficult to determine the dragon fruit variety by branch, bud, flower, and fruit descriptions alone. You may have to join a local dragon fruit group (i.e. Facebook) and request pollen. There may be growers in your area who may give you pollen from another variety.
