    Great!! More simple explanation, but I'm still confused. I just purchased your actuator for my 96 Volvo 850T5. IPD says that on the original actuator found on the car, you pump 1.8 psi into the actuator and then adjust and install the rod over the wastegate. Am I accomplishing the same thing with your method? I have model #FMACT5S. Should I pump air into yours, and if so, how much PSI?

    Nice video! i have a little issue with my Td04-19t on my saab 9-3. In 2nd and 3rd gear it does have 1.6 bar all the way up to redline (sometimes rarely it holds 0.5 bar when i floor it wich is base boost pressure) Yesterday i went for a top speed run and a 60-120 test but in 4th and 5th gear in high rpms is only has max 0.5 bar. Barely could get to 120 with 330hp at the crank. My previous setup had a T25 widh about 240hp which got to 150 mph and ideas? I have a heavy duty forge wastegate with a 0.8bar spring in it

    • @forgemotorsport
      @forgemotorsport  Před rokem

      Yes! The only difference would be spring strength on the actuator depending on which one you get, but the pre-load is the same :)

  • @LeemanStevens
    @LeemanStevens Před rokem

    Can the pre-load be adjusted to cut down on boost spikes?

    • @forgemotorsport
      @forgemotorsport  Před rokem +1

      If the preload is being applied as described in the video clip then boost spikes cannot related to this aspect of actuator tuning, the only way preload would possibly contribute to what is described as spiking would be if too much preload has been applied preventing the wastegate from opening effectively to bleed off boost pressure, boost pressure bleed of course being the primary function of the turbo actuator - potential scenarios/explanations will vary depending on the model and any tuning that may have been carried out :)

      Yes sir it does thank you , also a video setting up a k03/k04 actuator for say the vw with the rod and nuts would be awesome as some things do not transfer over like you say they do as there is no eyelet to slide over , but I'll probably just bring my turbo and actuator to the forge shop in Orlando as it's right down the road from me and have them show me .

    if the wastegate isnt there you wont get any boost at all... unless you meant that theres no wastegate port aswell?

    • @forgemotorsport
      @forgemotorsport  Před rokem

      Hello, If there was no wastegate, i.e there was no port for wasted gases, ultimately you would get as much boost as the turbo would be able to provide. Alternatively, if there was no wastegate flap, but a hole in position to exhaust the gases, you are correct, no boost will be produced :)
