    About Air France (from Wikipedia):
Air France (French pronunciation: [ɛːʁ fʁɑ̃s]; formally Société Air France, S.A.), stylised as AIRFRANCE, is the flag carrier of France headquartered in Tremblay-en-France. It is a subsidiary of the Air France-KLM Group and a founding member of the SkyTeam global airline alliance. As of 2013 Air France serves 36 destinations in France and operates worldwide scheduled passenger and cargo services to 175 destinations in 78 countries (93 including overseas departments and territories of France) and also carried 46,803,000 passengers in 2019. The airline's global hub is at Charles de Gaulle Airport with Orly Airport as the primary domestic hub. Air France's corporate headquarters, previously in Montparnasse, Paris, are located on the grounds of Charles de Gaulle Airport, north of Paris.
Air France was formed on 7 October 1933 from a merger of Air Orient, Air Union, Compagnie Générale Aéropostale, Compagnie Internationale de Navigation Aérienne (CIDNA), and Société Générale de Transport Aérien (SGTA). During the Cold War, from 1950 until 1990, it was one of the three main Allied scheduled airlines operating in Germany at West Berlin's Tempelhof and Tegel airports. In 1990, it acquired the operations of French domestic carrier Air Inter and international rival UTA - Union de Transports Aériens. It served as France's primary national flag carrier for seven decades prior to its 2003 merger with KLM.
    About Airbus A350 (from Wikipedia):
The Airbus A350 is a long-range, wide-body twin-engine jet airliner developed and produced by Airbus. The first A350 design proposed by Airbus in 2004, in response to the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, would have been a development of the A330 with composite wings and new engines. As market support was inadequate, in 2006, Airbus switched to a clean-sheet "XWB" (eXtra Wide Body) design, powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent XWB turbofan engines. The prototype first flew on 14 June 2013 from Toulouse in France. Type certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) was obtained in September 2014, followed by certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) two months later.

At 0:37 you displayed yourself as a half Swedish and half American, but you are wrong, because the word "American" is not a race but its a nationality. America is a place where of all races live, but it is highly controlled and dominated by Anglo-Saxon, Irish, German, Ashkenazi Jews, Black-Negro, and Hispanics of Central and South America due to their heavy population or heavy influence over American economy, politics, media, educational system, military industrial complex, police, and intelligence agencies. So, I strongly believe that your father is a White-American, but the question is that what his European ethnicity is. So, you might wanna ask your father about his European ethnicity. So, for example if your father is originally Irish then you should say 'I am half Swedish and half Irish-American.'

As a crew, those scratches are inevitable. And are mainly caused by passengers rather than the airline personnel. People dragging their bags in and out each day will surely cause scratches. 3 months is a long time considering the number of passengers and flights each day.

I feel as if Air France were smaller, they’d have a much more consistent product. My observation with airlines like AF and LH are that they want to offer an amazing product but are spread too thin operationally with soaring costs but still try to project an aspirational image despite all that. I could be totally wrong though. Still, AF doesn’t seem too bad.. I’m a FF with Air Canada and AF is more consistant with their lounges and onboard product. AC needs serious help with their lounge product. They literally serve the same food all the time and the amenities are a joke if we compare it to AF!

This makes me feel better about Air France having changed on me a couple of upcoming CDG layovers from only 1 hour to now being several hours. I had been feeling somewhat unhappy that they increased the length of my travel time, but from this review it sounds like what I had booked would have been stressful to make in time. Thanks, Dan!

Love your vlog so much. The cinematic mode makes me feel like I'm watch a movie. This makes me really wanted to try and experience Air France. The lounge is really gorgeous and I guess I can spend many hours in the lounge. By looking at the Google Earth map you provided, I would agree with you that CDG is probably one of the worst airports for transit. Getting to the wrong direction could cost how much time that passenger needs to bear, and the feeling of agitated, worried might miss the flight. Great video. :)

The food just kept coming the entire flight; it was crazy. We had smoked salmon with crème fraîche and all of the accoutrement, coq au vin, duck and foie gras…and they passed around this massive basket of bread and we could take as much as we wanted. Of course nothing offered to drink but wine and water. The wind never stopped flowing. Then came breakfast. Air France has the best business class product in Europe in my opinion with KLM not far behind. The others went downhill but used to be my preference. I guess they all change or adapt from time to time.

My wife and I have just done 777-300 biz class to and from Dominican Republic from PCD. Before the pandemic I did CDG to Huston, and my memory tells me perhaps the Texas trip was better? The seating appears to be almost identical except, on our return we were together in row 1 and had the partition down. However, the service was friendly, the food was good, all in all, I give AF seven and a half out of ten. Biggest bug bear, I'm 6'2" and I struggle to fully recline the seat without my feet getting stuck uncomfortably at the bottom of the box.

hi - just for awareness, not all connecting "HOP" flights go into the truly awful way out terminal that you experienced. I often fly AF from NCL to CDG and onwards. NCL to CDG is operated by HOP but we always land at 2E. This is super convenient for me since many onward flights that I use are from 2E. For example, tomorrow I am flying to Dubai, my flight from NCL (AF1559) lands in 2E and Dubai (AF662) takes off from 2E. Brilliant 🙂
As you mentioned, if you are flying LaPremier it really doesn't matter where you land as a car is waiting to pick you up !

    • @zork999
      @zork999 Před rokem

Newcastle (NCL) is UK, so non-Schengen. It has to arrive a 2E instead of 2F or 2G, which are for Schengen flights only.

I haven't watched your CZcams for over a year; but, I was curious about your take on AF. I have flown AF off and on over the past few decades, and never had a bad experience. I always had an average to excellent experience. I most recently flew AF in August IAD-CDG-DXB round trip. I agree that CDG is stereotypically French: quirky inefficient train and bus rides, escalators, and one-way doors between bizarrely named structures composing Terminal 2, yet lavish lounges with shower, Clarins products, massage spa (I have not yet tried the massage spa) tasty buffet, cafe au lait, and big silver ice bucket of half a dozen self-serve French Champagne. Also, I was sitting alone in one lounge corner by myself for a while, but the ground staff and their beverage trolley found me and insisted on pouring me more champage. I think I also did my CDG-IAD departure from that same 2M hall, because it seemed new, but also was shutting down before my late afternoon departure. I had to quickly make my champagne and Olympic souvenir hat purchase before the shop closed, and all other shops in the hall had already closed. It was like traveling in 2020-21 during lockdown, the way the hall was vacant and shuttered. I flew cattle class, but given my Elite status, got a choice seat, and I got served free-flowing champagne all that I wanted, from the kind attendant. I mention that I flew cattle class; but, to get to the cattle class cabin, I had to walk through the business class cabin. I felt cold walking through the business class cabin, because I felt like I was walking through an office cube farm of off-white/beige plastic walls and seats and screens, and I half expected to see my wretched supervisor pop out from one of the office cubicles (excuse me, business class pods) and demand that I correct and re-do my paperwork files. Actually, this beige office cube farm seems to be the trend on many airlines. No French flair there. I wouldn't pay extra for that. QR still has its old pre-cubicle business class and I did enjoy that earlier this year. I might enter your contest for that.

I don't know if Air France still does this, but years back they would send me notices that I could purchase air miles with cash, getting tons of miles for a fraction of what a ticket would cost. I paid hundreds of dollars for these miles, adding them to my earned miles and waiting to use them for a year or so. However, I failed to notice one thing about the purchased miles... they expire after a short period if they aren't redeemed. Since these weren't miles I earned with flights, but paid for with cash, I didn't think they would expire. Thus, when I went to book that long desired first class flight to Paris using my miles, I had no miles. And when I called Air France, it was pretty much "tough luck" for not reading the fine print. I was out hundreds of dollars, not for air miles... but for air. Nada, zero, zilch. Air France lost me as a customer forever.

LOL I can't believe that fox was out there totally unfazed by the plane going past! This was really helpful, thanks. I'm considering AF business for a Paris trip I'm taking. Even though its not as fancy as Le Premier or a middle eastern line if my choice is this or an American legacy carrier across the atlantic, I'm taking this.

I was flying business with Air France 10 years ago, twice to NYC and back, once more to Singapore and back. Charles de Gaulle was already very bad. I observe that they have worsened. The seat were flat but with 5 degrees slope so I spent all the nights struggling not to end up against the bottom end. The wine and food were always very good. Since them I’ve managed to avoid their hub so unfortunately can’t confirm whether Air France itself has improved.

I want to add to my previous:. Like you, I have loved aviation since I was pre-teen. I soloed on my 16th birthday, got my PPL on my 17th...(etc...yada, yada)...my point? Have you ever considered training to be a pilot? BTW when 18 I got my Commercial, Multi-Engine, CFI and CFII. That's how I built up the time to get hired at an airline. Teaching others teaches YOU as well.

lol this video is hilarious, love your puns. And the cliché paris music makes me love my own airport even more (where i obviously never had a transfer). So I'm an Air France FF and I think that you should keep trying with AF. Give it time, they will warm up to you. But also every population expects different service. I'm French and I actually think the french FAs talk to me too much, from hitting on me to asking me what the names of my stuffed animals are lol.
