A lot of people say bad things about you not doing sushi, I think you should just come on camera to explain what it's about. You do so much more than that. I love the concept and all the content. I'm going to buy those chef's knives you use too. I just think a little more face time could get you to the million subscribers you deserve.
I cant finish my chip bowl, now i cant make it an origami so i used a zip lock and sucked the air with a straw, forgetting that it was sour cream and onion flavor, so i caughed for 15 minutes. Thanks!!!
Where have you been all my life! Your hacks are awesome and you act as if they are "no big deal." Well, you are a genius, for sure, and stupid me would have never thought of any of these. You are unbelievable and thanks for the tips!
I've been using the straw/vacuum seal thing for a long time. Usually works, but sometimes the bag will not hold the seal. Do not use a zip-lock bag to keep a cell phone dry, even one with double zips. Get a waterproof phone case. Trust me on this.
Yeah. The Chip and popcorn bowls are pretty clutch. The chip bag oragami is pretty cool too. I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about food but your videos are always one step above. I don't know how you do it but keep up the good work!
Here in germany literally everyone carries a spoon so this trick saves my life. Usually when u carry your soup to school or something more thsn half gets stolen
Balloon: Ok, yeah, that's not a bad Idea... :) Popcorn bag tricks: another good trick for popcorn bags is that if you leave the top of the bag almost entirely closed, like it usually comes out of the microwave with the top opening just big enough to allow steam to escape it's usually also open enough to allow un popped popcorn kernels to exit the bag when the bag is shaken with the opening down towards a bowl. occasionally, you get a popped kernel or 3 that shakes its way out as well, but it's no big deal. Still wish you'd get back to making sushi though... :)
That's true but it's a good idea if you wanna make it and take it with .. you don't have to have a knife to cut the bag like that.. a lot of things would work.
Laugh all you want, but it's easily done, Hiram. A couple of pounds of salmon bits, couple of pounds pounds of raw red meat, couple of pounds of poultry, couple of pounds of giblets... it all can be done without a hitch if you *start* with the "ziplock underwater" thing after squeezing it into a more or less single piece (about 20 seconds' work), and use a straw while it's under the water to remove the remaining air before sealing. It'll freeze beautifully for 6 months or more. Using irregular "chunks" like whole birds or non-sawed pork chops works pretty well, but it does leave more air behind... it won't be anything like *perfect* after 14-15 weeks in the freezer, but that fresh-killed food of yours will still be better after most of a year than store-fresh, vac-packed and frozen will be after a month and a half. "Good luck"? It's how I preserved fish and game for more than15 years. No complaints from wife or friends.
The vietnamese go the opposite way: They use a compressor to inflate their dogs before they roast them... Makes them more crispy. Very astute. Would be worth including in one of these 'food hacks' videos.
I don't like coffee, but this is also a brilliant idea for iced tea! Especially as you otherwise need to brew the hot tea very strong to counteract the regular ice cubes. Thanks so much!
No. 6 could be done with Milo as well. For those who don't know Milo, it's a chocolate drink powder brand common in Australia and a few other countries. Commonly mixed into cold milk, but can be mixed into hot water and then have milk added. Use the latter method and freeze into cubes.
Raspberry trick with the silicone mold...the darn mold doesn't release things. The frozen walls of the cube next to each cube provides such a solid wal;l that there is no give, and sitting the tray in warm water only melts the out-sides of the cubes (whatever they're made of) To get the stuff out, you either have to entirely melt what's in them, or cut up the tray. I had to cut up three ice-cube trays to get the cubes out.
Thank you Laurie! Which of the food hacks did you think was the best? Also could you please take a second to share the video? It helps me a lot, thanks!
Wow, these hacks have got some soul in them, far better than those usual yt hacks! You got talent. The straw in the plastic bag for vacuum effect I somehow could anticipate! And the icecubes trick I've tried, but with hibiscus tea. And my hack is to use no icecube molds but muffin molds instead! All the other things you did were just mind blowing. I say mind blown! :D
Right here waiting for you to discover it, Deisi 😄 Btw, I need some help to grow my channel to 1million subs, it would really help my goal if you share this video, thank you 😊
i do that with the straw for ziploc bags. i finally got ziploc bags for my foodsaver so i don't have to inhale food. i do the milk thing with chocolate syrup when no more squirts out.
I've sealed and frozen way more than 500 pounds of fresh salmon, rockfish, and venison with your straw-and-ziplock method over the years... but because the mouth and nose get fed up with the scent/taste of even perfect raw fish/game pretty quickly, I *start* with your bag under water idea and almost all the air gone already, *then* I suck out the (very) little remaining air with the straw. ;-)
Was just about to throw out an unopened jar of Nutella because the thought of spreading chocolate on bread makes me cringe --- then I saw your video. MILKSHAKES. Brilliant - never thought of that --- you're a star.
You are really really good! I know and have seen a lot of those advice sites but you are exceptional new and inventive. And even one known thing you showed was excellent explained by you , better than original... 10 stars for you if a rating was possible
Love Love Love it. But for the popcorn you could use the hood to your hoodie. Just make a bag of popcorn and poor it into your hoodie if you have someone else in your family that likes to steal the popcorn out of your bag like me. I have someone that does that to me.
2:23 Using a straw to suck out the air only works with your camera friendly fruit. Try that with seasoned meats and you wouldn't even think about using a straw.
2:54 ..........I use that method with ketchup, and mustard, and peanut butter, and jelly, and molasses, and............though I don't use milk for some of them .

stupid me would have never thought of any of these. You are unbelievable and thanks for the tips!
What if you made ice cubes out of cream and simple syrup? Then added it to coffee for cream and sugar! 😄

For the iced coffee trick, why not just make cold brewed coffee? It tastes much better than just "cold coffee".
1. In my kitchen, tupperwares are easier to find than a balloon ^^
What a great idea to save efforts of cleaning bowls... 😂

+The Vegetarian Baker
That's because it's not a hack, more how Iced Coffee is generally made.
Are u Greek?
I think cutting a popcorn bag and cleaning the knife would take just as long as cleaning a bowl
That's true but it's a good idea if you wanna make it and take it with .. you don't have to have a knife to cut the bag like that.. a lot of things would work.
Thanks for the fun kitchen tricks. It's fun to learn a new and better way in the kitchen.
Great tips! If only I could remember them all when I need to!!
Yeah.... good luck sucking all the air of a raw chicken or pork meat from the bag.... 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I've sealed and frozen way more than 500 pounds of fresh salmon, rockfish, and venison with your straw-and-ziplock method over the years... but because the mouth and nose get fed up with the scent/taste of even perfect raw fish/game pretty quickly, I *start* with your bag under water idea and almost all the air gone already, *then* I suck out the (very) little remaining air with the straw. ;-)
