You did not mention cleaning. Vacuuming the floor and dusting, putting stuff away out of sight , empty the wastebasket etc all makes the house look much nicer.

I love buying books from Goodwill or the library just for the color of the binding. They usually sell for about $1 each.
I love lamps and rugs. It's like a new pair of shoes they just make a room.
It's amazing how liberating and elevating not having a waste basket in every room is.

Your recommendation for tea light candles sounds like one of your passions. I love the ambiance of candle light and tea lights work well because they can burn slowly lasting three to four hours. Tea lights are also great if you have friends and family who are sensitive to candle fragrances.
My favorites always be books, artwork, lighting and accessories!
Love all of your ideas! As a recently retired art teacher, you would think I would have my own artwork in my home. I babysit my 5 year old grandson full time and have not been able to find the time. Redecorating my home a little bit at a time these past two years has been my primary focus. Now it’s time for me to get back to my art! That’s what’s missing! Not only does your style speak to me, your personality is the best. I grew up like a lot of people my age where our homes weren’t designed very intentionally, or with any knowledge of the language in this world because interior designers were completely out of reach- I don’t think I even understood how this could be a job until adulthood. Thanks for making good style more accessible. It’s not just about the way a space looks, but how it makes us feel while we are inside.
I wish we had H&M Home in Australia!! Check out thrift stores for books, vases, and lamps ... it's amazing the things people give away.
An addition to "art" : we love buying art prints on our travels, or large scale posters of our favourite art pieces from museums. One piece that has stuck with me over the years is a poster of "Sea=Dancer" by Gino Severini that I fell in love with after visiting the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice in my University days (20+ years ago). I bought the poster from the gift shop and had it professionally framed at home. It has travelled with me from Coast to Coast in all my moves and I still am inspired by the dynamism in its shapes and colours.

Your style and videos have been a total inspiration for me. Rustic Luxury!!! First thing I did was paint the 2 story all white fireplace, black and love it!!! Love the pillows and throws. Growing up I never thought about changing out the pillows because they were what they were. But I like changing them up now as an adult. I do need to get some task lighting.
About that pottery barn vase… When I first saw that on one of your videos, I thought it looked a bit plain. Then I found it in a store and OMG it’s gorgeous! Needless to say I bought it and love it! It really is as beautiful as you say and worth all of your praise. ♥️

Thank you for another informative video, Valentina! I was up late last night looking for artwork to replace a mirror over a credenza in my living room--after I realized the need to carry the color of my drapes further into the space. The long living room in my 1967 house has at one end two huge, right angle picture windows, and at the other end is the stone fireplace wall. The room felt like two ends competing, until the light bulb went off. I'm now obsessed with finding the right piece! After getting my Valentina motivation, it's now time for me to continue the search! 🙂😀

I love all of your videos. Can you do a video on “How to select a rug” for multiple rooms. Also, like you, I love changing things round all the time. So if you can share tips on how to purchase rugs that might be used in multiple rooms? Also can you share your recommendations on rugs over wall to wall carpeting? What are your thoughts on this? Most of my home is wall to wall, except for hardwood in entryway, kitchen and eating area in kitchen. Thx!

Gasp-I NEED all those books! I have a decorating or fashion book open in every room of my apartment. I love it because it’s almost like having a vision board for that room in there and just sets the stage. It also allows me to have maybe an art piece or something that I can’t afford yet. I’ve always wondered where your map art came from, so thanks for saying it was RH; I have a small fabric map of Paris I almost threw out til I saw yours, so now I’m on the lookout for a frame to put it in. Great video Valentina! I'm actually in the process of giving my living a refresh with a new rug, artwork and lighting. I love adding throws. I have that neutral throw. I recently purchased a few throw pillows and it really elevated my sofa. Its pretty new but it was missing something. You can't go wrong with neutrals.

That's exactly why I went get one despite I really would love one. For cats they can be even be more toxic than for dogs. They can die from a very fast or slow liver damage.

My whole house is white and creme with a touch of black because I’m afraid to commit to any color. I’m trying to save for a few berber rugs ( very small < $100 and 3 one for entry bathroom and kitchen and a larger one for the living room ( 3x5) and 3 berber pillows to add a pop of color.

Hi Valentina! First I gotta let you know I love your channel! Me and my sister are so hooked! She is also moving to Atlanta just bought a house and follows a lot of what she has seen in your videos. Anyways I just want your help with my black wall. We painted about 3 months ago. We got beahr paint and primer. The problem is that if I even touch the wall very lightly the wall gets dirty immediately. It looks like it has scratches everywhere, handprints and just overall dirty. Any advice? What do you think caused this and how can it be solved? Thank you 🙏🏻

I always love your ideas, out of all the things you showed Diffusers are my favourites, I have them in just about every room in my home but I always go a bit overboard with the scents Lol 😂, putting more in them than the recommended amount, so I’m always purchasing new scents for them whenever I’m at my local store that sells them, at the moment I’ve got “Salted Caramel” which is Devine and Delicious when you walk into my home, which I need to stock up on some more Lol 😂, and throw rugs, can never have enough of them either sitting on my couch or in a cane basket 🧺, the only thing with the throw rugs is that I have a little fur baby and if I put a new one out or move one onto our couch, she’ll jump up and with her head and nose get under it and push it onto the floor Lol 😂, she’s so funny to watch doing it. @@mariemaier5630 I didn’t know that 😢, what are the scents that your not supposed to use in them, Your comment has just devastated me like you wouldn’t believe, because my little fur baby has just been diagnosed with Liver failure, Cushings disease and Tumours in her adrenaline gland, My Heart is Breaking, she’ll be 14 years old next month and Now reading your comment, it could of been Me that has caused her all these health issues and she’s not going to be with me for much longer, I’m just Loving her more each day that she’s here, the Scents I buy are usually Lemon scented ones or Coffee scented ones, I’ve had a Salted Caramel one before, but mostly Citrus ones, I’m just gutted to think that I could of caused this, I’m going to ring her vet this morning, it’s way too early here in Australia 🇦🇺 at the moment, but I need to know. 😢😢😢😢💔💔💔💔🐶
@@-nellie-m3711 Nelle, I am so sorry to hear this. But your cat seems to have many diseases that are not related to the diffuser. I remember long time ago I watched a CZcamsr who adopted a cat or a dog also with Cushings disease. I know it is a quite strong illness. Unfortunately I forgot who it was. It really sounds like in your case it is something genetic. 14 years is also a decent age. The illnesses just start showing up then. Please don't feel bad I am sure are an amazing mum to your cat. I live in Australia too btw.

I would love to know where you suggest buying a couch from I have heard you talk about couches in many videos but I am currently looking to buy one in a 3-4,000 price range I want something good quality but within that budget I have kids and need durable cushions and performance fabric. I don’t see pottery barn couches saying they are kiln dried l, I am trying to decide how important that is. Article and cb2 are a little too modern for me. I am not sure what to do and I have been looking and been undecided for about six months I need to decide!!! 💜☀️
