    I realize this video is from a year ago, but we had priced taxis from the Civitavecchia port to Rome central and it was closer to $150 to $200 USDs, not 40 to 60 euros. Another couple said their private taxi was close to $290 USDs for 4 people and luggage (that may have been a bit of a rip off). Rome was our final port stop so we had all our luggage, so the train was not an option. We ended up taking the free port shuttle from the cruise terminal to the main bus terminal (Largo Della Pace), and then a transfer shuttle to Rome for $80 USDs (for 3 people and luggage) which we booked through Get Your Guide Tours. They dropped us off at a square near our hotel, and we took a taxi from there.

    Thanknyou for making this video. It gives me confidence to do my own excussion in Rome from the port. Cruise excursion is a ripped off in my opinion. Too expensive. God bless you on your future trips.

      Yes. It's really easy to use the train to Rome from the Civi-port. Just be sure for the time of the Train coming back.

    Thanks for this video! I’ve watched several on how to get from the port to Rome, but you’re the first one to mention there is an elevator at Civitavecchia. Other visitors have mentioned the stairs and long walk to platform, so I was worried how we would manage with luggage. Thanks this is so helpful! 😊

    I have been looking for a video that would state the time arriving at a port and the time to return to the ship. The ship we will be cruising on arrives in the Civitavecchic port at 7am and leaves at 5pm. You showed us it will be possible to visit Vatican city and possible to maybe see a few other sites as well. Thank you!

    Thank you very much for this. There are a bunch of videos on how to get to the port but very few on port to the train station. And most of the videos are years old which are probably outdated. I know that that blue and white bus cost a fee and there's also a free blue and white bus that takes you to Largo della Pace. I'm assuming you just had to look at the destination of the busses and picked the right one? And then for the way back, same idea of just finding the bus with the sign of the cruise port? Very helpful and thank you!

      @RGandRea  Před rokem

      Thank you for you comment. During our time, there was a free shuttle BUT you have to walk from the train station for about 15 minutes. so i highly suggest to take the bus right outside the train station. It's 3euros per person. And this will take you to your ship.

    Thank you for your informative guide. When back to cruise ship from train station, you pay the shuttle bus fare to the driver? It takes you right to the ship or at the entrance gate to wait for another shittle? Also is the space for luggage in the train to civitavecchia?

    • @RGandRea
      @RGandRea  Před rokem

      Yes, there is still a fee. I think it's 2.50 euro. We payed 5euro for both of us

    Hi, very informative. just wanted to ask... Did you also go to Colloseum in this trip? If you go down to one of the stations, can you still use the same ticket to go somewhere else or to a different station? tnx

    • @RGandRea
      @RGandRea  Před rokem

      No, we did not. We don't have much time. Also, when you're coming from Civitavecchia you have to buy the tickets per trip. You can pick the time of the train. We bought the ticket going back to we don't have to get in the line again when we were in Rome. But I think when you're in Rome. You can buy a day pass that could have you access to all public transportation along Rome city.

    • @RGandRea

      We took the regular train. The express train is expensive and it's not much of a difference in time. If you like to take the express, you need to be on time becausr normally there is only one departure train from civitavechia to Rome.

    It's Chivitavekiya😊 Italians don't pronounce their 'ci' like 'si' in Tagalog. It's weird, but that's the way they pronounce their words. 'Chi' on the otherhand is pronounced 'ki' like in Kiko!😀
