    Great review! I’ve been doing speed workouts in both while preparing for a mile race (trying to break 5 min). I definitely prefer the Sky Paris. It’s so light and natural feeling yet returns energy like an Alphafly (I’ve always been an Alphafly 1 guy for all distances). Assuming my races in the Sky Paris go well, it will be my preferred shoe at least for the mile to the 5K, maybe for longer distances, too. I’ll have to see how it feels in longer reps at 10K to marathon paces.

    I have these two exact same shoes (same colors as well) and I think I like the Asics better too; I just picked up the Asics last night and ran a strong 5k in them this morning. They feel like a better fit than the Nikes (less clunky) and they made me want to keep running after the 5k was over - lots of pep and great response. Legs don't feel trashed, even though mile 3 was all uphill. I agree with your assessment for the short distance so far. Still need to try them out over longer distances...

    Nike VF are in stock though, knocked a full minute in my pair and a passer by kindly shouted out "nice trainers" 😊😊❤

    oh man needed this review a week before. Bought a nike vaporfly instead of the asics metaspeed. My reasons were that the nike would be more leg saving towards the end of the marathon with the softer foam. The adios pro 3 which I also have seemed to cause too much lactic acid build up around the 30km mark
    would have loved to see some running metrics alongside

      Don't worry too much, the Vaporfly is still a great shoe and remember everyones experience in shoes differs. For some reason the Sky Paris may not have worked for you. Make the most out of your Vaporfly 3 and good luck with the next marathon 👊🏽

    You said Vaporfly V3 boring.. Big compliment to Asics.

    Nice comparison! For the last year or so I have been racing alternately with Asics Metaspeed Sky+ or Nike Vaporfly 3. I have not yet been able to decide which one i like the most😅. I love the fit of the Metaspeed but have a suspicion that the Vaporfly is faster, but that is not at all based on any facts - only feeling. I think my conclusion is that the ZooomX-foam from Nike is more inspiring, but i feel that the Metaspeed is more suitable to me when I break up at the end of a race (I normally do...). Have to mention that I have wide feet, and although the Vaporfly is wider than its earlier versions, it is not as comfortable as the Metaseed. Looking forward to test the Paris👍

    I do have the Metaspeed Sky Paris and interestingly, I don't notice the shoes very much. I say this in the most complimentary way. They just allow me to focus on running fast and get into fast running mode. It's only after the run when I've noticed I've just had a PR on the course, how I was able to do that in a controlled way, how they were able to let me relax and do that, that I realize how great they were. I notice my Nike Vaporfly Next % because they were soft bouncy like a bouncy trampoline. The Sky Paris is like a highly tuned olympic trampoline that allows you to do your routine as efficiently as possible.

    Great review, I have a pair of the VF 3s, and I am very disappointed in them. Previous versions of the VFs were much better, the VF3s feel flat, no pop. I'm picking up a pair of Sky Paris next week, can't wait to try them out. First race will be the Ballarat 15k in August

    Got both the edge and sky paris. I use the Edge for speed session, the sky paris for long runs and race day simulations. Way better than Vaporflys, my heels don’t slip and the midsole on the mid/forefoot is thicker than VF, which makes the run and ride more comfortable too.

    • @run-are
      @run-are  Před 3 měsíci

      Sounds like you have it sorted! Do you find the Edge Paris more similar to the Vaporfly or the Sky Paris?

    I just wish ASICS didn’t stop their speed shoes at size 13. I’ve ran in the nimbus for 10 years but had to order vaporflys for sizing.

    How does the Sky Paris compare to the Alpha Fly/ Endorphin Elite?

    • @run-are
      @run-are  Před 3 měsíci +2

      More bounce in the Alphafly however it's bulky. I'd still prefer the AF3 for a marathon still due to the bounce and better stability. I don't really get along with the Endorphin Elite geometry (late rocker) but the ride is firmer and more stable. I'd go the Sky Paris over elite easily. The Sky Paris feels lighter and more nimble than both.

    Don't you think Edge Paris is more compatible because of the same plate geometry?

    Do you think ASICS still outperforms?

    Get the Asics more durable for the same price range. Also better performance imo.
