MY CB500 THEORY:
Within the last years I developed some sort of suspicion. I started to think that because of various reasons the old CB500 would be a very reasonable bike to master. READ THE REST HERE:

(I'm actually not trying to lure you towards my Facebook page. I'm just using too many words for the limits of the CZcams description lol)

MY THOUGHTS ON HANGOFF RIDING:
The way I personally am riding motorcycles it doesn't make a big difference risk-wise when it comes to neutral riding style versus hang off. Here's why:
The neutral riding style (I don't know the English term but it's this style of riding where your body has the same level of lean as the bike, you just always lean with the bike basically) has the advantage of you being able to react to any possible hazard relatively quick. It's also not tiring at all. The disadvantage: I enjoy taking corners at certain speeds. For those speeds I will need certain lean angles in neutral style. But those angles won't leave too many reserves.
Riding hang-off in my case has the advantage that I'm taking corners at the same kind of satisfactory speed. While needing smaller lean angles and therefore gaining more reserves on the tires.
But there's the slight disadvantage of me lying next to my bike while cornering. The view is a lot worse down there and you'll need more time to react to any possible hazard.
So for me it's choosing between a better view and quicker reaction times versus more grip and lean reserves on the tires. I choose whatever the f*ck I like at any given time and moment.
In my opinion the safest option would be to actually go for a compromise. Ride a "soft" hangoff for improved cornering stability without exaggerating the body positioning to remain in a somewhat suitable position to quickly react to possible hazards and the unforeseen.
If you're a part of the group of people who never got this confident on a motorcycle to actually realize that something like responsible speeding is indeed possible I'd simply recommend to go a little slower and enjoy the scenery.
---
FOR THE KEYBOARD WARRIORS:
- Yes you can still read the speedometer's wrong output in the reflection of the windscreen.
- I'm only throwing my backpack this mindlessly on the bike because its paint job already is completely fucked. I'd never treat a mint-conditioned bike this carelessly.
- I literally have the arms and legs of an orang-utan. There's absolutely nothing alarming about my knees scraping. I need about 3 degrees of lean to do so. No joke.
- I myself realize I'm too far on the left side in many corners.

DISCLAIMER: countless hours of coding efforts went into manipulating the bike's ECU in order for it to show random numbers instead of my actual velocity to make my riding look faster. In reality I never exceeded 67,5kph. Unfortunately sometimes my ECU hack didn't work and the speedo showed my actual speed which was too slow to brag so I decided to blur the speedo instead. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
For those who haven't ridden one...the exhaust note and the induction howl of a Triumph triple motor can lure in even the most well behaved rider. It is the Song of the Sirens which no man can resist.
there's no way I'm NOT pinning this.
The induction howl is probably my favourite thing about my ST 1050. I still have the stock exhaust on it, and when ridden conservatively, the thing is relatively quiet. A little too quiet.
But bring it up to 5k rpm in second gear and wack the throttle open and the noise it makes is orgasmic.
I almost don't want to put an aftermarket exhaust on it because I don't want to drown out that glorious induction noise.
blipco5 unless you use beeswax and a crew who will tie you down.
the sound of the ambulance sirens ;) ?
Yes. I just got a Street Triple and while I never like to go that fast , the "need" to hear that engine accelerating for just another split second does get the best of me.
the triumph's screams where so high that my neighbour threw a brick in my window to hear them better
ah! Your neighbor must be a bike connoisseur!
hahahahahahahaha .... that's beautiful.... I needed a good laugh

Google Maps: Thats not possible!
Schaaf: No, it's necessary!
hahahahaha
One of the best sounding bikes for sure!
yessss
Finally! A sports bike! And immediately you'll realize why you don't see those too often on my channel ;) *IMPORTANT INFO: The '100% riding' doesn't stand for giving it a 100% and riding at my personal limit. It stands for this video featuring nothing but RAW motorcycle riding. Without any music or edits. NEVEREVER ride at your 100% on the public road. 100% belong to the racetrack.*
Schaaf now its time to battle with mr.z1000sx yeaahhaaa
One day I'll do that. On a race track.
great..how about record your riding from another rider..or how you done with mr.z1000sx..i think that's cool too
This year he filmed me riding on the XDiavelS. Coming as soon as I find the time to edit!
lovely
incredible sound from that sweet Triumph
yeaaa
I had to share this video to the Riders Association of Triumph (RAT)s page on Facebook. Great Video.
thanks for that!!!
After years, this is still the best video I've ever seen. The colors, the sounds, the sense of speed. This is like art man 👌
Thanks Garrett
That was some insane riding. Dayum your videos are pretty addictive 👌😉
thanks a lot!!
Always a joy watching you ride like a boss! I love my 675R, but not skilled enough to appreciate her the way you just did! Keep on riding and making these awesome videos!
thanks!! Awesome choice of bike :)
Wahnsinn, der Sound ist echt sehr nice
I could listen to that triple all day. What a great sound!
me too!!!
I watch this video at winter every day, because i cant ride my own daytona, it helps alot! love the sound of this beautiful bike. Nice job with the vid!
glad I can help!
Man ive owned about 4 to 5 bikes, last 2 were a 09 r6 and a tuono v4r ! I honestly been eyeing an 08 675 up and man i think i want one. Sounds so cool!
Very nice, Schaaf! Beautiful road and excellent riding--would love to get my 848 on that road...
and I would love to ride an 848 :D
Ooooooohoooooooohooo, that was amazing. This is in my top 5 all time fucking fantastic rides!! Oh i will be watching this again soon. I love the post ride chat, it gave me a winding down time to get my breath back and calm down (That should be your breath as you sounded totally knackered). It's official, i love the sound of a Triumph Triple. You nailed it on this one, absolutely brilliant!! Thank you and As Always Ride And Speed Safe.
thank YOU, Jezza!! I like how you're appreciating the post ride chat cause to me it's one of my most favourite aspects about riding bikes with good friends actually :)
Schaaf the post ride chat (I did, he did, did you see , laughing etc) is what I miss the most so last night was a joy for me to listen in on the chat. Thanks.
One thing to note is that the R model was not even introduced until 2012. Until that point you were getting the best sport bike triumph had to offer just by purchasing the 675 :)
That's true :)
Mach weiter so! Lg
ja, das Gefühl ist der Wahnsinn!!!! Danke!
freut mich sehr!!! Danke dir!
This is a stunning video and I can't believe the quality sound you got from a zoom mic inside a backpack.
thank you! It does work quite well with Triumph three cylinders! With many modern 4 cylinder bikes for instance the results are not exactly great
WOW!!! one of my favourite bikes...amazing sound!! good job schaaf!! keep it up!! ;-)
mine too ;) Grazie Davide!!
I think your best video.
I really appreciate also your opinion about the bike and you riding stile in description.
I fuckin love this bike, this road and this driver.
glad you enjoyed, thanks
This is probably my favourite video on YT.
cool!
Great riding as always man, keep it up!
Btw loving the disclaimer =D
thanks Filip!!
ahhh this is so good. the audio with no wind noise, great video quality and awesome roads. but best of all, daytona 675r is the bike i want to buy !!!
awesome choice!! Good luck on getting one one day!!!
Great video and ride and wow that Trumpie sounds fine
Just wanted you to know that the couple of videos you made about this bike were part of what sold me on one. I just purchased a 2008 Daytona 675 for relatively cheap and I am picking it up this Friday!
Congrats!! What a bike!
You are one crazy hell of a rider!!! Damn the Daytona is the best sounding triple!!
thanks
liebe einfach denn sound von Triumph. geiles Video
jawohlll!! Danke dir!
awesome vid! love the sound and the bike! Soon I'll have my own! :D
awesome, congrats!
Hi Schaaf ! thanks for posting such great videos.
The first video of you I saw made me feel like I was driving your CB. As a result I am just watching your videos when I miss driving my bike and I feel immediately better ! Such a nice feeling !
And to be honest I never comment on YT but i had to thank you for your top work.
Have you ever tried the street triple R ?
Please make a video with one !
cheers from France !
Slt Boris,
well if you never comment usually I of course feel even more honoured now :) Thanks for letting me know!! The Street Triple R actually is my dream bike but I unfortunately don't have access to one for test riding :/
With this riding style on a sportbike, i recommend you try and put your weight on the opposing peg to save energy (i.e. when turning right, put your weight on your left foot to use the left peg as a pivot point).
thanks!
looks like fun, great vid!
so much fun! Thanks
Now this is how you record sound of a bike properly. Really wish people would use a proper sound recorder like the one used here in the video. Makes everything so much better when you can properly hear what is going on, and not just wind noise or over boosted clipped sound.
thanks, glad you appreciated
Agree with many on here... what a ride, road & the Triple, well just greeeeaaaat......one of your best in my humble opinion.....
I agree!!
I have to admit: I miss my 675 Street Triple with tha awesome ARROWS a little bit ;) The sound and my memorys give me goosebumps
Very cool the video. This road is very similar to one that we have here in Brazil, which is called "Serra do Rio do Rastro". Congratulations on piloting!
obrigado Cristiano!
Wow man! What a fantastic road!
thanks!
Wow. That sound is so addictive
it is!
beautiful sound 😍😍😍😍, beautiful bike and beautiful road
thanks John!
that scenery holy crap each turn it's like a painting
true that
Wonderful roads. Great bike.
Might be kinda cool to see you chasing your own CB :D
Anyway, great riding as always, I'm so jealous :D
mmmh yes nice idea :D Thanks!
I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS BIKE!!!! but I prefer the naked triple street!! Good work.
me too! Thanks!
That 675 sounds B E A U T I F U L
nicely done great ride also Thumbs up
thanks Sam!!
I am currently doing research into a new bike. I had been eye-balling this one for a while, but was a bit skeptical. I wondered "would this machine call to me much like an angel at heavens gates?" That is when I heard it, and my LORD does this bike really sound good. I think I'm gonna have to take this one, because that sound is so good, plus the newest model have some sick stuff already installed. Less money for a great bike. You sir, have swayed my opinion in favor of this one, well done!
excellent choice!!! Thanks for the lovely comment!
*Thumbs up* my friend. Keep it up!
Vielen Dank!
This bike has a lovely sound and looks great too
thanks
Wunderbar ! Triumph klingt erstaunlich
jaaaaa
Sau geiles video wiedereinmal!
3 Zylinder sind sowieso das Beste :)
danke dir!!!
this sound is sick!
thanks!
I love this bike!!!! Awesome engine
yessss
What a blast ! 😍 😍
yes indeed!
Joa...klingt schon sehr kernig! Taugt mir!
That sound is addictive
it is
Der Sound is so verdaumt geil, verdaumt nuamoi.
owa jo!
AMAZING!
THANKS
Love the raw footage, dolby digital tier sound the camera is placed perfectly feels like I'm doing it.
Now the bike sounds lovely seems to have cool power delivery, I'm even considering to upgrade from my gsf400 I had for 3 years.
Also fuck you for having roads like that
it's the best small supersport in my opinion
Klasse!
I like the inobtrusive feedback. Just a few words to highlight things you're thinking
Thanks
you are great.... keep going
thanks Luka
Gets headphones, turns volume up. Feels goooooood man
yessssss
I always like to drag the rear brake through fast corners whilst still on the throttle. Helps your lines amazingly, makes the bike follow so much easier.
On the entrance to a left bend for example you are so close to the right edge that you're not giving yourself much room if something goes wrong Schaaf.
Try entering not so close to the edge. On road at the speed your going, the bike isn't going to use huge amounts of road and move off line much.
So if you pick a center line of the lane, you'll stay central right through the turn. So you don't need to be so close to the edge on entry. If you approach a bend so on the edge and you have to sit the bike up its got nowhere to go apart from off road. Also instead of taking a break by stopping, just lean with the bike for a while rather than hanging off and pulling the bike over, when you've recovered you can wind the power back on and start hanging off again.
Litre sports bikes take alot of the effort away from reaching speed. Its not so tireing reaching and maintaining speed like a 600cc. This what makes them a valid option on the road. I thought the same as you before I rode a litre bike. Now I wouldn't buy a 600cc sports bike. I would consider the 675, it performs more like a litre bike than a 600cc. The Gixxer 750 is also a great choice. You try a 600cc quite different to the Daytona, not as much torque. The Triumph is very linear from down low in its power band, like a 1000cc bike.
Try a Blade Schaaf it's a fantastic first litre bike to try.
Peace.
thanks a lot for the valuable advice! I could ride a 1000cc ZX-10R in the meantime on the road. Nope. Still don't like them. But I am aware of the fact that the 3 cylindered 675 engine is rather superior compared to the standard inline 600cc 4 cyls. They need so many revs to start pulling. But I actually love the "work" it takes to keep them "up there". I enjoy riding "up there" even if it makes no sense at all on the road. And I'm not disciplined and/or skilled enough to ride a 1000cc sports bike "up there" on a public road. Makes no sense to me. Too insane, even for my standards.
Err! One question fellas? Where's the nearest ambulance and paramedics? This scares me, and, that's a fact! Hurricane, typhoons, cyclones, North Atlantic storms - I experienced them all! But, this guy is riding an immortal wave! Great stuff! Bill.
Bill! I wonder with which force of nature you'd come up once you saw a PROPER quick rider ;) Thanks though!
OMG I love that bike 👍
God, that thing sounds good! :D
indeed it does
Hey! Absolutely love the sound, it's a pure eargasm, and I love the color grading!
I'm not gonna do my keyboard fighter, but if you wanna go deeper into hanging-off techniques, take a look at Murtanio's tutorial! I didn't learn everything from his video, but it told me one or two good things, and appears pretty well explained to me, I wouldn't add a lot to what he says (more experienced rider maybe could, but myself can't)
And I wondered if the bike's restricted or if you're not revving it enough, cause it seems to lack of power a lot while watching others 675's videos!
May only be the video or a bad impression, I don't own this beauty ^^
Excellent video as always, keep going!
Thanks! Good advice!! Murtanio indeed knows what he is talking about!! The bike is unrestricted and I certainly wasn't using 100% of it because I'm lacking skills and experience to do so :)
Im a newbie rider so this looks fast as f*** to me. I really dig the content and quality of editing on your videos in general, so I guess keep it up. Also is there going to be a video of you riding that 990 Superduke?
it's a 690 and there is a video of that already on my channel :) Thanks a lot mate
Beautiful bike, beautiful ride. I'm very jealous.
Thanks!
nice video!
thanks Darren
...and to think Triumph discontinued these wonderful bikes, maybe they'll revisit them again sometime in the distant future. Glorious engine note.
well, apart from Yamaha they all are letting the small super sports die :/
Sehr gelungenes Video! :)
danke dir!
Together with a V4 I think an I3 is the best sounding engine possible! Might have to look into buying one some day.
Also it's awesome that you include the google maps link! Haven't noticed it before, but like it. Possibly going to, or through Austria next year on vacation so I'll have to check some of the routes out!
Oh by the way, I bought a Zoom H1 after watching some of your videos but haven't gotten the sound right yet, guess it takes some trial and error. Cool anyways!
yes it does! You can always send me a message if you have any specific questions about my audio setup!!
thats some good riding
thanks
Great vid. Totally stoked now! Cant wait to get my 675 back to Europe for some of those awesome roads. What road is this? Its going on my "to do" list.
thanks. Description
First time i got my knee down was also an hour into riding my daytona for the first time. So addicted!!
nice!
amazing
thanks
fucking geil dude. i love that sound. you seem to get on well with a sportsbike. i havent gotten my left knee down yet :(
ahahaha fucking geil, nice one :D Don't stop trying :)
yessss😎 triple powerrrrrrr
very jealous of your ride mate :D
had a chance to hear this beauty in the mountains, could hear it from miles away, it was a red Daytona 675
Nice!
Man your video is amazing and awesome sounding too! One question! Do you know what quickshifter ur mate is using on this 675??
unfortunately not
damn that sound is awesome, and that road, awesome panoramic view, where do you live, what place is that? its like heaven for riders.
thanks! I live in Vienna, Austria
GET IT!
:D
Awesome :)
thanks Wookie mate
Another great video man, not too sure about the colour grading though, any reason you went for this particular style?
it's exactly the same as in my previous 1080p uploads. No other than me liking the look of it :)
Nice riding! The sound of the 675 is also nice. For now i am satisfied with my Yamaha MT 07.
the MT07 is a very fun bike too!! Thanks!
Indeed :) . Only thing on my wishlist is another rear shock (from Hyperpro). The standard shock is very soft. On the front i have already Hyperpro springs.
And the ground clearance is not so much, haha :) .
As much as I love the daytona; I simply cannot stand the appalling idle noise. Cutting an extremely long story short the lumpy idle needs fixing :P
Either way awesome wideo ^_^
And I wholeheartedly agree with your cb500 theory!!
ahahaha and I LOVE the annoying whistling actually :D Thanks Derps mate!!
Please more
Good video :-) fast left handers and slower right handers.shows he is allowing a margin of error for oncoming traffic.which many riders dont.enjoy
thanks David
One of the most beautiful sounds you can listen to is a triple getting ridden really.. Thing can cure depression of all kinds im sure of
absolutely!
Schaaf hab keine gopro sondern nur nen fake 😂
Finally a proper bike to suite your riding style.
I think it's a bit too powerful actually :D
Oh I loved this! Regarding the dodgy knee sliders, you could go to a shoe repair shop or something along those lines and have them stitch 2 pieces of velcro on your pants, that's the ghetto way to get decent sliders.
Would be cool to watch you ride some V-twin and V4 bikes like the Monster, Tuono, VFR, SV1000, etc...even if most are pigfat. MAYBE ONE DAY?
yes I will definitely get a patch of velcro onto my pants next season!! I'd like to test out the big liter bikes on the road too but I think they don't make too much sense for my personal riding style. But I'll try and then I'll see
Would you be able to do a video on a fully faired sv 650s? that would be an awesome video to watch. Also you are a really great rider and you should really consider getting a full on sports bike.
the SV650 actually is the only bike which constantly gets mentioned by you guys. I will definitely try my best to get one for a video ride next season
Schaaf Please try do a raw video on an Sv650 this summer Schaaf?! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🥺
Ois wärs a Computerspü mit richtig übermotivierte Soundleit.
voi. Und ohne dB-eater bollerts daun sogoa no. Soiti ah no amoi ans aufnehmen
