  • Let's learn about the avionics in the DCS Black Hawk!
    Link below to a podcast I did for Brotallion on Flight Evaluation Prep. They are GIVING AWAY a BOSE A20 when they hit 1k subscribers! Get on this!
    The techniques and tactics used in my videos are purely that of the simulated world of DCS. This does not represent real life flying, tactics, techniques, or aircraft capabilities.

    The Lima is a pretty bad ass mod. I hope it progresses and becomes an “official” mod

    It's maybe worth mentioning, that the mod has some short commings and not every feature of the coms and nav panel is working.

      I might try to one day but the AFCS in the mod doesn't quite work like it does in the real aircraft.

    hey snak pak, among all upgrades and changes applied to the lima in real life over time, which instruments would you like to see on the middle console in the sim to represent the lima best?

    • @SnakPakFlight
      @SnakPakFlight  Před 9 měsíci

      Um not sure exactly what you're asking. This Lima is pretty true to what the Army has been using for decades. They are being replaced by the M and V models rapidly which have an entirely different cockpit.

      @piloto_loco Před 9 měsíci

      i have been observing the center console being updated all the time, instruments got replaced etc., just curious what actually belongs on the console. I am talking about the center console, in the middle, between the pilots, where the nav stuff etc. is. @@SnakPakFlight

    • @SnakPakFlight
      @SnakPakFlight  Před 9 měsíci

      @@piloto_loco Yeah just the original download is what I have. Latest version. It's all pretty accurate. But some things can be swapped around on the center console. Generally, they are where they are in the base model.

    Do you fly with FPS on ?
    I see some people not flying with it on, they say that you are fighting it the entire time.
    But I can only see that if you don't trim the aircraft, please correct me if I'm wrong. Safe flying !

    • @SnakPakFlight
      @SnakPakFlight  Před rokem

      I fly with it on. It might be a sim thing. I’ve noticed the trim doesn’t really work right. Honestly I should read the mod manual. But it doesn’t work like it does in real life. Always have it on IRL. I’ll try in DCS with it off and report back. You’re not the first to mention it.

    When you served, how often did you fly? Were you once or twice a week or did you only get a couple hours a month? I ask this because I am looking at enlisting as a warrant officer and hoping to fly but wanted to know how often I can expect. Who better to ask than someone who has actively done it?

    • @SnakPakFlight
      @SnakPakFlight  Před 18 dny

      I'm still in. Almost done with my service obligation. FYI, Warrant officers don't "enlist." You will be appointed. Usually, as a junior warrant, you'll fly about once a week. This is of course unless you deploy. In that case, you'll fly much much more. Some places like Honduras will grant a lot more flight time. It all depends on where you end up. But in a Combat Aviation Brigade, probably about once a week. After a couple years, you should make your way to becoming a pilot in command. After that, you'll fly a lot more. Then soon after that, you can pick a warrant officer track like maintenance test pilot or instructor pilot. That's where you really rack up hours. I'm an instructor pilot and I fly everyday.

      @murphinator5586 Před 18 dny

      @@SnakPakFlight thank you, sir. And I apologize for my mistake, I didn’t know about the enlisting vs appointing aspect. I’m not just trying to build hours, btw, I only ask about the flight hours because I love flying and want to fly as much as I can. I had heard a rumor that some pilots only flew a couple hours a month. Flying is everything to me (I already have a commercial pilot license and an FAA-certified flight instructor certificate) and I was worried that if I were lucky enough to get appointed, I would be unlucky enough to not fly. I really appreciate your input.

    • @SnakPakFlight
      @SnakPakFlight  Před 18 dny

      @@murphinator5586 haha no need to apologize. Yeah man, if you're a CFI already, you have a good chance of getting in. Just know that you have a 10-year service obligation which begins AFTER you finish flight school so make sure it's something you really want to do. The flying part is really dependent on where you are stationed, but if you find yourself in a situation where you don't fly much, it won't last long.

Even though it’s an appointing process, I still just go to a recruiter, right? And if you are an instructor, if I get accepted, maybe I’ll see you around haha

    • @SnakPakFlight
      @SnakPakFlight  Před 18 dny

      @@murphinator5586 Yes, you have to go to a recruiter and start a Warrant Officer Flight Training packet. If you read the following website very thoroughly, it will explain exactly how the process works.
