Having just worked through a lot of trauma related to my relationship with my mum a new thing has come to light for me. Just how emotionally reactive I am to sound and how 40yrs of judgement has taken it's toll. I avoid doing anything in case I experience sensory overload because of the associated shame that I feel about the emotions it triggers. I don't know if I have autism, however I have read that alexithymia and spd can exasperate each other. I hope that I can find a way to make this better, it makes my life very miserable and in the Uk, it seems like nobody really cares and its nigh on impossible to get an accurate diagnosis of anything. Just "anxiety and depression " here have some CBT 😢

I am from Holland and really want to thank you for this clear and honest information. I have seen so many videos of so called professionals and not one of them gave me this feeling of they know what they are talking about. We lack specialists in this matter.

My daughter is 5. She was diagnosed when she was 2.6 years old. Her main issue is clothes in general. She hates the touch of clothes on her skin. She especially hates underwear. She cant regulate body temperature. She feels hot when she is dressed, no matter the temperature. Is there anything that can be done other than OT? Her OT discharged her from the treatment since there was not anything else she could do about it. Thank you.
