- Dang! What an insane day behind the wheel of Marcel's stunning JDM Mk.4 Toyota Supra. As a street car this widebody, single turbo, and gun-metal grey bullet of an import is ready for just about anything to challenges it. With a 2JZ engine under the hood pushing 930 HP to the rear wheels, it's basically a massive handful at full boost and is a bomb waiting to explode (in the best way possible, that is). These cars always get my adrenaline pumping like almost nothing else on the road, and Marcel's build is easily one of my favourite big turbo cars i've ever driven! Wow, I've just seen my favourite Supra, those tail lights are awesome.
Judging by the speed those centre lines disappear under the car, that was somewhere in the vicinity of 135 MPH in no time at all... awesome...!

That's handy to know... I have the MP215 fitted by the Ford dealer and fully warranted.
Where I live, there are really no roads that are good enough to get up to that speed, and any that are, are major highway's and I won't do those speeds when other people are around... and if I did and got caught, my car would get crushed...! Thanks for letting me know about the 150 though... quite impressive from a 1.6L would you not agree...?

Using a 369sxe turbo to boot, hell yeah. Not enough people using the latest and greatest journal bearing turbos in the borgwarner line, good to seem some awesome results.
aiGeis I'm from the same area and have the S369SXE on my supra as well. Unfortunately for me, i'm a broke student so I can't afford a standalone or fuel system yet. Which means i'm limited to 10-13psi. The turbo is laggy but not too horrible. I love the sxe lineup, it just sucks that they all have a massive compressor housing and no options for the exhaust side.
Sounds pretty neat man. What are the spool characteristics like (when it builds/etc.)? Also, what A/R are you running?

Spools at 2800-3000 depending on the throttle, it pulls up to 3900 where it hits full boost and maintains it up to redline. Next mods are gsc s1 cams, id1200cc injectors, twin disk clutch, and ecumaster black ecu.

I mean supra is my dream car and I own one but all these fan boys and everything like, supra is god of cars. Like I get it but it almost turns me off from having one. Like everyone just over obsesses over them. It's one hell of a car and all and I love it to bits but at the same time I'm over all this. And another thing you could drive a 800 hp car on the streets sure. But it would suck in for the fact that you couldn't get on the power. Cause the only time you can really hit full throttle with a car like that is like what he did in this vid. Wide long open road. Which brings me to another thing. It's like everyone expects a supra to have like 1000 hp and no they don't come from the factory like that just so some of you know. They come out with less the 400 hp. Still really quick tho. In fact if you want a street car 800 hp plus is not the way to go. I think people forget that even 400 hp is stupid fast as well. Cause it's all these videos on CZcams glorified 1000 hp supras like that's what they have to have. Sure a car with that power is insane and fun but out there. Not mention traction becomes a bit of an issue. Of course speed in a straight line is fun but I need something more.

Fast Lion yeah I have a blitz nurr spec exhaust on mine. Sounds amazing. Yeah stock they're still pretty quick and fun. I just want a fun street car that I can take to the track on the odd occasion. If I could choose how much power for that kind of driving 400 hp at the wheels is plenty. Too much more than that and it starts to get a bit much for the street. But like I said, the stock power is satisfying enough anyway. They're pretty quick. Even stock non turbos go alright. Which I hate how people underestimate them. I wouldn't call them super fast but I wouldn't call them slow either. It's just one of those things that people don't get until they actually own the car. Which also goes for people who think they want 1000 hp. More power isn't always better.

Yeah I agree I like supras but I went and bought a FD. And it's still with stock turbos. Its good enough for me, for now. But yeah, for my power goals Im only aiming for 450 to 500 whp. Because the roads here are not very good. Im dealing with cracks and pot holes galore. The 300whp ive got now is plenty fast for turns and what not. But I'm getting. People wanting to do highway pulls or drag races. Its a track/drift car.
Brett Richter dude most of these guys claiming 1000hp on yt are not even making 500hp, people like to make those claims because fanboys will not question it. Realistically 1000hp on the street is just asking for something to brake, a 600hp car is super uncomfortable to drive let alone a thousand. Everyone hypes their #'s up

That is a supremely executed car right there. So clean...even with the aggressive aero it doesn't overwhelm you in any particular way. Car is all pretty much one color, subtle and even the engine bay has a very humble appearance. Those concave Advan GT's (thought they were TE's for a minute)...MAN that's where it's at.

RHD is cheaper here in Ontario because its very hard to insure them. Yes, we only have a 15 year old import rule but you can only easily insure if car is 24 years old. We have Evos, R34gts, & MR2's sitting unsold because of that very reason.

I'm not that big on huge hp Supras. But, this one is done up right. I really like the idea that the owner focused the build towards how the car actually handles. If I owned one, it'd definitely not have straight line drag radials on it.

If it's stock guards then 315 would be common for anything between 10.5-12 inch rims, which all fit under stock guards.
335's will fit but you need to get your offset bang on or you will foul on the inside

The only reason for it lies with the fact that you can never use full throttle, like ever. If you wanna enjoy a car 100% you wanna use the car a 100%, not 50% of the car. I ride motorcycles, same story there, the lesser motorcycles are more fun because they dont kill you and you actully enjoy riding it to its limits.
Chris S not to mention the turbo spools faster, lower RPM and you would be able to be in the power band more often.
It's too fast it gets to 100-150mph way too fast for road. You overtake one car and then you are instantly stuck behind another even though it was 50 miles down the road.

a lot of people tune for power then run a lower power tune to daily it. So it may have the potential for 930 but that's prob not what it has daily to ensure the engine lasts longer..you know..like 2 or 3 days instead of 1 ^_^

It made 930whp on the dyno as I mentioned, but was tuned down to 800whp for the video and street drivability
