This is Jerry's 600hp Mk4 (A80) Supra daily! I've been around this car quite a bit over the past couple of months but today I wanted to bring you on board with me. I've driven plenty of Supras in the past, but there's something nostalgic about the experience that shines through without fail, every time I have the opportunity to drive one. While this example is far from complete, it's a great showcase of what can be built for a "reasonable Supra budget" here in 2022. Enjoy!

If you were wondering... We switched out the 255 rear tires for a square setup off Jerry's GTR for the rolling shots, etc. A LOT more grip. Hope you enjoyed the video :D
600 hp is civilized you'll actually beat many a hellcat with just 600,800 hp on the other hand,800 is a savage number more than what anyone really needs these 1000+ hp cars aren't even cars after that point,just coffins on wheels lol or a ticking time bomb
I got 255 Pilot Sport 4's and they don't hook up on 360hp 375tq RWD. The car's still new at 4,600 miles on the car, with 2,000 lightly used break in period. I think I need to go wider and stickier.

usually the ugliest car is the fastest at the track.. there used to be a janky ef hatch that was camo painted with dents and he used to smoke sports bikes.
Am I weird for preferring lower power and more capability through corners? 600hp means nothing to me unless it can run on rails through corners.
I feel like as far as street fires and street cars go, 500 hp or so is usually the most you can run while still maintaining grip and what not via tire compound.

Same. That's why I stopped around 500awhp and worked on the head for quicker street spools along with a smaller turbo a/r than most.

You're absolutely right, nothing matches the rawness of this, mine is still a twin turbo - but recently manual converted.

i am still on stock twins as well and still auto, will NEVER EVER swap to manual. I ran mine bone stock for like 10 yrs, just in 2020 i decided to modify her but i still have every oem part in my shed with every nut and bolt.

I'm running about that much power aswell on my low boost setting but im up around 18 to 20 psi on low boost.

I’m glad Toyota is still in the ring fighting for modern day enthusiasts but for me it’s the price point that kills it with the exception of the 86. Even the GR Yaris is expensive, I just can’t justify 5 million yen for the Yaris and 7 million for the RZ trim Supra. It makes me think the Corolla will be at the 6 million mark and that’s pretty insane. But that’s just my thoughts on it, personally I don’t mind the collaboration with the A90. I actually like these parts bin collab cars. Another good example is the 2020 Vantage. Underneath you know it’s a AMG GT but it definitely doesn’t drive like one. Marcus you should definitely try to review one! I would love to hear your thoughts on it. Especially the 7 speed manual AMR variant but those are pretty rare.
Microtech used to be one of the few ECU's that were capable of running rotary back in the day. And 105°C should be fine. Not sure about 600hp and 14psi, but still looked like the right amount ot HP for street 👍
Felt closer to 550whp during this drive, but I've been told the meth injection only works periodically, that could have something to do with it.
If mine ever hit 220F, i would be in panic that the fans were not working, i NEVER EVER EVER boost any of my cars in the dead summer. I wait till temps drop to about 70F or less before i boost it

105c is fine for 2Js, 115c (239f) is where you would want to start letting it cool down a bit. The fuel pump thing you are talking about is called a Fuel pump hanger. Also the "airbag delete mod" in series 1 supras is just a 2nd glove box, only in series 2 was it a air bag. Also at 14psi that would be flat out making more than 450-460hp on pump.
Running meth should get him to 600whp reliably, I know a few persons that run meth with piss water 90 octane running 600whp daily

Turbokit, fueling and ecu is all you technically really need! And thats bare minimum
U can use an unopened factory turbo 2jz and make 600 with bigger turbo fuel pump bigger injectors and a few more little things

Never really undersood peoples need for high horsepower. If you're building a car to drag race - of course. if you're building a track car.. of course more power will help to a point. But for a car that you plan to drive on the street, i don't even understand how ya'll can use it - I feel like I can get myself in to enough trouble in the roads with a low HP car.. can't even imagine if I had 600+ hp, where the hell could I use it without pissing people off / getting impounded or killing myself. haha
That’s personal choice no matters about how much power is depending on driver , people still died in 100 hp civic . Power never be a issue that why a lot car in factory got 600 plus . Is driver

650BHP at the crank is the limit. 600BHP is the ideal power.

A right-hand drive Supra with a HUD...yeah..."unassuming" alright...
With the temperature reaching 210 then 220 what is normal operating temp for 1JZ/2JZ?
The 2JZ, from our findings, usually runs at about the 90-100 degrees Celsius mark (194-212 f). Provided you have a good coolant additive the coolant system can run up to 110 degrees C without boiling over (because the system is also pressurised). I suspect with this car having such a big power output it will be running on the hotter side. Don't forget the 1J and 2J blocks are huge iron lumps so they hold a lot of heat (and also take a long time to warm up!)
Things to tell the person borrowing your supra.

i inherited my 98 Supra from my uncle. I ran it bone stock for nearly 10 years with the ITCH to modify it every time i drive it.
Finally in 2020, i scratched that itch HARD and did the bolt-ons ...

To me it makes *a bit* more sense now that the GR Corolla has been announced. 6-speed only, awd, all Toyota. Seems like they were funneling quite a bit more resources to the hot hatch/rally side of things.

I don’t mind the new Supra but the fact the motor is not Toyota shows the laziness of Toyota so I hope the new corolla is a turn around same with the FRS & GT86 it’s literally a Subaru but that car is forgivable because of how bad ass the STi Swap is in that car
It's not laziness it's about the cost to develop a new motor. It cost tens of millions of dollars to engineer a new motor and go through government certification.
yet Toyota, Ford always turned to cosworth and Yamaha for their motors and BMW always made a better i-6. btw most automakers usually use other manufacturer's engines and transmissions to save on development money. it cost billions to develop a motor and transmission...

With a turbo swap the new Supra's a good car................if you're good with running Meth, NOS, and 105 octane race gas to get the power without risk of detonation, FK that crap. In my shit I just pull up to the pump and fill up because C7 Z06. Merica!

The name you were looking for is triple pump hanger. Man its weird to me ppl complain about twin disc ot grt scared or have issues driving them smoothly. Super easy super stockish feeling clutches. Maybe ive gotten lucky but driven three cars with them two were jz cars. Spec twin in a r154 in a buddies sc300 was butter drove better than stock even with a race light weight fly wheel 560whp. My gs300 tilton twin disc also super butter but hesvier fly wheel than my buddies and 700hp back than(1100 now). I think single puck un sprung are hard. Still drove that orginally in my gs with a r154 but damn sure didnt enjoy dailying that

@@Eastern_SA but still the 2jz is the most and I mean the most overrated engine in the word so at least toyota /bmw has atleast made a better 2jz and right now the b58 is better than 2jz right now the mk5 is almost breaking in the 7secs and and alot of mk5 supra going over 1000hp. what's amazing is the car has been out for 2-3 years so I don't why people whining about hay it's does not have 2jz etc. And now it's ganna get a manual just be grateful what you got the b58 sound almost the same as the 2jz so with the manual now it's ganna sound the same.
