Another great quality remix JX! How do you rip game samples? I recently downloaded Furnace Tracker, and I wanted to rip samples from Mega Drive and SNES games 👉👈
For mega drive, You can import the VGM (not VGZ) with the samples you want into audacity as raw data, then set the encoding to unsigned 8 bit pcm, set the byte order to default endianness, channels to mono, and samplerate to 16000 or less (It can vary sometimes but I'd usually have it at 16000 or 8000). The samples should be at the start of the waveform followed by noise. So you'd just crop out the samples you want, export them as an unsigned 8 bit pcm .wav file, and done!

so basically, this guy called button masher made a video on making snes stuff and somewhere in the 10 - 20 minute mark he mentions how to rip samples, so I advice looking for that
oh and about those MD samples
I forgot where, but I think there's this "Mixer's Genesis Drum Samples" thing where I got most Genesis samples, so look for that aswell if you can't be bothered with manually ripping
This sounds better and less “empty” than the original!

i'm really hoping to see some of the weaker tracks on the superstars soundtrack get redone in 16-bit eventually, ones like press factory or golden capital, pretty much any of the songs done by jun sunoue really, the sonic 4 tracks on this channel are really good and so i'd love to see some of those tracks salvaged at least somewhat
also if that does happen i'm going to make a prediction now and guess that golden capital 1 is going to be done in the style of sonic & knuckles sky sanctuary zone

and of course lets conveniently ignore all the other stuff by Jun Senoue, like Bridge Island, Sky Temple, and Cyber Station.
@@vividcolorandrichaudio6134 you know it's pretty weird how i didn't mention the tracks where someone else got involved in the creation of the track and therefore the instrument choice is different and the length is longer, almost as if the compositions themselves are good but are made worse by their choice of instruments and get repetitive after a while due to their short length
the cutting room floor happens to have the prototype music for bridge island 1 and cyber station and they're quite a fair amount worse than their final versions because they use the sonic 4 instruments just like the zones i listed, and because they're shorter in length and therefore are more repetitive
sky temple is a pretty good track, even though it suffers from sonic 4 syndrome the rest of the song is good enough for me to look past that, plus it's longer compared to the other jun tracks and therefore less repetitive
the choice of instruments in press factory (particularly act 1) is ear-grating at best and remind me of sonic spinball's options menu
golden capital act 1 feels like it's trying way too hard to sound like sky sanctuary but with the wrong instruments to support it, the rest of the acts are fine (and i'm somewhat fond of act 2) but their loops are quite short and they get repetitive due to such
the boss theme heavily reminds me of the boss theme of sonic 4 episode 2, really short and used during comparatively long bosses causing it to get VERY repetitive (the miniboss theme is fine though)
meanwhile fang's boss theme (the one used in speed jungle zone act sonic, not the one used at the end of trip's story) straight up feels like a prototype or concept theme that they forgot to replace or expand upon
tl;dr the main reason i call these tracks weaker is that they have poor choice of instruments and often have rather short loops, the melodies and everything are great but get ruined by those points, bridge island and cyber station work well because jun's composition was improved by someone else with better instruments and a longer loop
I'm one with the sonic series but can you remake the song real gone by sherly croul in the style of mega man x3 16bit snes like you did the touch by Stan buch 8 bit please 🥺❤️🥺
