Only 6! Look at you making life manageable in 2024. 🤩
I'm getting kinda sensible in my old age... 😂
Ida B Wells is fantastic. I’m so glad to see you reading it and encouraging other people to read it. What an interesting list overall!
She’s such an amazing writer. Her work feels like it could have been written this week.
Thank you so much, Hannah! ❤️
Look forward to joining in with this challenge - great choices! Thank you -
That is wonderful! ❤️
Thanks for the reading list, so we can read along.
Happy to hear you want to join in with me! ❤️
These are new to me. I am excited to read them!
That is wonderful! Happy reading! ❤️
Really fascinating list! I will try to join in with some of these.
That would be wonderful!!
I'll try to join you for all of the books or at least for four of them. Thanks Britta for make me discovering new female authors. I wish you a nice end of the year.
Oh, how wonderful that you want to join in with me, Mireille! ❤️
Very interesting selection Britta! I will certainly try to read them all with you. I’m still planning my 2024 reading which I think is one of the most exciting things to do. Such is the exciting life of a 61 year old 😂
Fantastic that you want to join me, Julie!! ❤️ And your comment about the exciting life of the 61 year old made me laugh. I feel you (being 63 and all...)
I really enjoyed this video. You have me inspired to create a list of classics for me to read in 2024.
Oh, I'm curious about your list!!
@ I posted it! It's the video about 24 classics to read in 2024. I'm almost 100% sure I won't finish all of them -- maybe not even most of them. But I like having options. 😁
@@LiterateTexan Ah great, thank you!
Ida B. Wells is on my TBR as well. I had to read an excerpt of de Navarre when I was perfecting my French at the Sorbonne. Sadly I don’t remember a thing about it.😅 May have to look into it. Good luck on this interesting classics reading challenge.
Thank you very much!
That's such an interesting list. Despite having all my reading fairly preplanned. If I can fit a couple in I'd love to join you. Those Penguin Classics looks like lovely editions. I'll have to check what's available at my library. Happy Reading 🙂
Oh that would be so lovely if you could join in for a few of the, Kim! And happy reading in 2024 to you as well. ❤️
The George Sand book sounds interesting. Aloha
George Sand was such an interesting woman!
These are all fantastic choices. I would love to try to join, but my job has been all-consuming the past few years and I haven't been sticking to reading plans very well! I was just reading a book that mentioned Albert Einstein's support of the anti-lynching movement in the US and the Wells book would be a great follow-up!
So happy to hear you like the list, Bethanne! And I feel you with an all consuming job and not much time to read... I hope you will be able to get to some of the books you have planned to read in 2024! ❤️
I think I am going to read three of your list - probably Ida B. Wells, Emilia Pardo Bazán and George Sand. Already looking forward to reading them. But please don't hold me to it ;-)
Wonderful!! ❤️ (And I will absolutely hold you to it. LoL.)
I had to read Los Pazos de Ulloa for a course on Spanish naturalism in college. I found naturalistic writing quite bleak at the time, and don't remember much of any details from it, I think maybe with more years of maturity behind me it could be time to revisit! I still have my copy on the shelf...
Oh, wonderful that you want to read Ulloa with me! ❤️
The House of Ulloa has a second part called the mother mature and It is also amazing
That is great to hear, thank you very much for the recommendation, Teresa!
I might own that Ida B. Wells book, but I don’t know if you’ve given me enough time to figure out where it might be. 😂 I’ll try to pick up that Dick Davis translated anthology because I like his translations.
Haha, that comment made me laugh. I hope you will find the book in time.
What are three banned books that you oils recommend to read?
I's love to recommend some books but I need to know: What do you mean by 'banned books'? Banned now? In the US?
@ Any books that have been banned anywhere, anytime. I just need them to be in English. Please and thank you
