An Encounter with Sewing Frustration

Even with all the sewing experience I have and successful garments I have made, I occasionally have frustrating experiences. Some projects don't turn out well, and in fact, I'll never wear the garment I discuss in this video. But I sure can learn from an experience like this by thinking about why it happened, how I deal with this kind of sewing frustration, and how I get myself sewing again.

There is a cream colored project made up with a similar pattern hanging in my laundry room as of yesterday afternoon along with my super frustrated feelings. Moved on to a pair of moderately full leg pants. Hopefully they’ll be a comfortable fit as I have really put a lot of thought, research and time into them. I’m feeling so grateful to have you and just a few others online to turn to for advice and to also listen to your unexpected experiences and thoughts. When disappointments happen I have learned tidy up a bit then to turn to my machine and smile. So grateful it still lets me sit along its side.

Thank you for sharing this video - not least its reassuring that even someone with your experience can get frustrated, and what to do to avoid and pick myself up after. ATM I have lost a lot of sewing confidence and listening to you is helping me to start to re think this.
