@@Gohka Most Americans are taught at least some about the native peoples that inhabited the continent before European colonization. It is common knowledge that there was a full continent of unique and interesting cultures for thousands of years before. Nowadays you'd have to find someone real clueless to think that America was just kinda found empty. Although knowledge of other continents/countries is a different story lol. I myself find early-modern European history interesting but almost none is widespread knowledge here.

Just because the presidents ancestors came from a certain country back then, does not mean they are related to that modern country today. FDR came from a german family in Estonia, he does not have anything to do with modern Estonia, same goes for Bush and Czechia.

man, I feel bad for folks stuck in prison in the u.s.
Dude I feel bad for people who live in the US fullstop. A healthcare system designed to bankrupt the poor. Working laws that mean you can get fired just because your boss is in a bad mood that day and you are fired with immediate effect, also they get either very little or no paid holiday days. Women only get like 2 weeks or something of Maternity leave so they have to use their version of statutory sick days to cover the rest of the time off they need. Probably also not getting paid for it. They have the death penalty in some places still. They have some of, if not the most lax gun laws in any 1st world country. School shootings on such a regular basis they seem to have come to accept it as a fact of life. Waiting staff don't get paid a living wage so they RELY on tips to live. Almost no social care whatsover. No workers' rights. I could keep going but I don't want to be here for an hour lol. Oh and they have Trump.

I mean think about it, you could I dunno, get an infection in your arm and end up having to have it amputated, costing you about $20,000 (for them to TAKE A BODY PART AWAY FROM YOU) then while you're reeling from that expense, you lose your job because your boss decided you've had too many days off while you're recovering. Then, while living with the dread of that news, a madman with a gun barrels in to the hospital shooting the place up and now you've gotta pay another $50,000 for your gunshot wound.

That surely can't be true about when the UK population will peak, it looks like about 2077. We're already struggling to fit the 66 million of us on this tiny island now, if we've still got another 53 years for the population to peak we could be looking at 80-90 million people on an island the size of Oregon, which itself has a population of 4.2 million (literally about half the population of JUST London lmao).
