The city states of Bremen and Hamburg have a connection to each other within their symbolisms.. While Hamburg has the gate/castle, Bremen has the key to this gate/castle on its coat of arms. Puerto Rican here.
Yes, the Cuban and PR flag are closely related. The PR flag was made in 1895 after the Cuban flag of 1849. Both islands were aiding each other in their fight for independence, mainly organizing in New York to avoid Spanish persecution. The PR flag was a symbol of the independence movement and was banned from display in 1947 with the "Gag Law", similar to the Smith Law in the US to fight communism.
Later in 1952 it was adopted by the newly formed Commonwealth of PR and has been the official flag since.
There's debate on what the tone of blue is the true one. Independence supporters say its sky blue since that was the color used in the Lares Revolt in 1868. Others argue that it is turquoise blue or dark blue since it is derived from the Cuban flag directly. Some of us dont care, we just love our flag 🇵🇷🙂

Irish counties don't officially have flags. They have coats of arms and they have sporting colours. The flags shown here are the sporting colours, which is the most common way to do county flags if you're displaying all of them as a set. But if you're waving your own county's flag, or displaying it in your house, you may choose a variant which includes the county's coat of arms, or perhaps the logo of the GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association) county board.

Big oof for the Surfer poeple
I don't know if the Hawaiians explicitly wanted to join the British Empire as I highly doubt the British would reject any piece of land in the 19th century, especially when they colonized a bunch of pacific islands already, but the Hawaiian king certainly instituted the Union Jack to show their friendly intentions. It was mainly to keep the British as a trading partner, as they were the only ones besides the USA and most important ones who were trading with Hawaii due to its isolation. You could argue it was also a preventive measure, so that the British *wouldn't* colonize Hawaii or do so in a violent invasion.

The left one is "Artigas' flag" who was a commander who fought against Spanish and Portuguese royalists, it is inspired (as you can see by its colors) in the French flag because of the French Revolution of 1789. The other flag is the "33's flag" which represents the 33 fighters who came back from exile in Argentina to fight for Uruguay's independence from the Empire of Brazil, the phrase "Libertad o Muerte" means "Freedom or Death" which expresses the feeling of fighting for freedom and rather die while fighting than live without freedom.
