    Hi - many thanks for the detailed video. May I know the pre requisite for MSRA? Someone with only house job is eligible to sit? Thankyou

    • @EmedicaLtd
      @EmedicaLtd  Před rokem

      You cannot just sit the MSRA, it is a recruitment exam. You apply for training, and if that specialty uses MSRA you are invited to sit the exam. The eligibility varies by specialty, so you should search for the person specification for the one you are interested in. You can see details for GP training at www.emedica.co.uk/applygp - you would need at least 2 years clinical experience by the start of training for ST1 / CT1 level training.

    Hi ,
    Thank you for detailed information.
    I’m an LTFT FY2 and I will finish F2 training in December 2024. I would like to take this exam asap.
    Can I take MSRA in January 2024?

    • @EmedicaLtd
      @EmedicaLtd  Před 10 měsíci +1

      No, as you won't have the required experience by August 2024. You can apply for round 2 - applications open in July, for jobs starting in February 2025.

    Hello there. On oriel application what to mention in space for exam ? GPST or something else?

    • @EmedicaLtd
      @EmedicaLtd  Před rokem +1

      You apply for specialty training in whichever specialty you want to. To apply for more than one you need to complete separate applications for each one. So if you want to apply for GP training, wait for the applications for that to open and complete an application.

    If I want to sit MSRA for Go training and emergency medicine in the same time can I do that? And what is the process? And what is beginning of process? What is oriel???

    • @EmedicaLtd
      @EmedicaLtd  Před 10 měsíci

      You apply for specialty training for each specialty you want via Oriel. You will be invited to sit the MSRA if you meet the eligibility criteria for that specialty after your application is successfully longlisted. Oriel is the NHS specialty training website.

    Hi I have done MRCGP INT ,but I want to get gp training in Uk. I want to ask 2 questions .
    Will there be the same process of Msra exam for me or do i have to give any other exam?
    Do I have to complete whole 3 years of training abd then exam of gp uk?
    Do i have to complete

    • @EmedicaLtd
      @EmedicaLtd  Před rokem

      You need to get GMC registration e.g. by completing PLAB, then this article covers the process to get into GP training: www.emedica.co.uk/applygp - you will need to sit the MSRA as part of this process. Once in GP training, you will need to pass all 3 parts of MRCGP UK to become a qualified GP with CCT. You may get a reduction of 6 months if you can provide evidence of how you meet the capabilities for UK GP training via the combined training/ CCT-CP route, but it is likely you will need to do the full 3 years

    How many times can you retake the exam?
    if someone attempted the exam but didn't get the interview can he resit in the next round to increase the score?
    for how long is MSRA valid?
    Does it have an bad outcome if you retake the exam, in terms of your shortlisting process?

    • @EmedicaLtd
      @EmedicaLtd  Před 8 měsíci

      You can resit as many times as you need. You can resit in future rounds, however some specialties only recruit once a year. Scores can be transferred from round 1 to round 2 for any specialty that is recruiting. For GP, you can carry a score over for a future GP application for up to 12 months. If you resit it makes no difference to future applications - what matters is how well you score.

    How many times in a year the application opens

    • @EmedicaLtd
      @EmedicaLtd  Před 8 měsíci

      Most specialties only recruit once a year. A few like GP, psychiatry recruit twice a year, but round 2 often has very few jobs in limited areas.

    What is the difference between plab and msra?? Should we take both?

    • @EmedicaLtd
      @EmedicaLtd  Před 11 měsíci +1

      PLAB is a licensing exam to get GMC registration. MSRA is a part of the recruitment process to get into specialty training. If you plan to go into one of the specialties that uses the MSRA you will need to sit it after applying for training. You will need to sit PLAB to get GMC registration to be able to work as a doctor in the UK.

      Thank you so much Doctor, can you tell me what do we need to get into gynecology training besides MSRA??

    • @EmedicaLtd
      @EmedicaLtd  Před 11 měsíci +1

      After the MSRA, if you get shortlisted for interview, your interview scores make up most of your weighting. Please read the person specification and recruitment site for ST1 obstetrics for detailed information

      You apply for specialty training in October, so if you meet the eligibility for the specialty you are interested you can apply, and will be invited to book to sit the January MSRA if your application is accepted and longlisted
