Preaaach!! We need the rest of them class legacies! The ones you made already are fantastic! Would love to see them - the whole list of classes! Finished and on loop in a playlist! Love these legacy vids keep up the good work mate.
31:51 Small Goof there lol. That's the DF version of the dungeon not the Cata one :)
@@LoneWolf32321I cannot agree more. Back in the day I was really looking forward to the Hunter and Druid ones due to all the RP stuff with them that got removed later down the line.
Great vid Preach! Can't wait for the legacies of MoP, WoD, and Legion (my 3 expacs since I'm a MoP baby and I quit during BfA...)
oh man the cesspool guilds. so excited for this legacy video, cough cough I may or may not have been the author of a drama time story about my friend who made a guild invite addon XD
...jesus christ it's been SEVEN YEARS since Legacy of WOTLK? Holy hell.
Has anyone else been waiting patiently for that “Legacy of Death Knight” mentioned as upcoming during the WoTLK legacy vid?
@@adamorth5335 Still waiting ;D
we're getting old
I was there Gandalf... I was there 3000 years ago, when Preach released the Legacy of WotLK...
Seeing that footage from Totalbiscuit is omega nostalgic
RIP John
Based
I miss him so much
At what timestamp did he mention TB?
@@Blackleafdragon TB wasn't verbally mentioned, his footage was used at around 3:45
so much of my childhood was spent watching Totalbiscuit, Jesse Cox and the Yogscast's WoW Cataclysm videos. I never even played wow back then, I never had the money for a subscription but I still loved watching their videos on it.
Another person who loves vashjir my man. This zone is absurdly packed with awesome lore and cool visuals and is absurdly underrated
absurdly bad and boring
For me in the music. Holy carp, the music.
It was my first zone that I leveled through Cata and it was the first underwater zone, that zone is really cool and underrated. Enjoyed leveling through it.
I'm hoping when Cara classic releases people will avoid it because of its reputation even if I enjoyed it and can level in peace.
Visually great but pretty awful to play in with how depth perspective gets fucked when not on the sea floor.
I really appreciate you using old TotalBiscuit footage, preach
may he rest in peace
I just noticed this but preach you look terrific mate
The joke when he said "at least back then I had hair" and showed his head really made me chuckle. My hairline is feeling it too
Vashj’ir best zone by far. Killing Naga, swimming around in the seahorse, going inside the big sea creatures, and seeing the ?? Whales swimming out in the distance was amazing! I’ve never been to hyjal because why would I want to when vashj’ir exists.
my sentiments exactly
Ah, I see you're a man of culture as well.
Yea that zone was cool. Cata had some of the most fun zones in my opinion, probably my most played expansion. I think I just liked going back to the main continents versus some new continent with all the new zones piled together.
I don't like Vashj'ir because the questline is just too damn long. It feels like you've gone through 3 or 4 zones by the end of it.
If you're not in a rush and take breaks between it's quite unique. Subnautica vibes, from the shallows into the dark depths, with something ancient sleeping at the bottom.
Those class guides were actually the beginning of the "How to get gud" saga of my life and got my casual guild through Cata raids. Thank you for all the content over the years
The discribtion of deathwing fight cracked me up "fighting fingernails with some weird dragonhead going OOOOooooOOoooOoOoOOo doing nothing" hahahaha
I always called the fight "Deathwing's Spa Day" where we give him a manicure and a shave while he chills in his big hot tub xD
Sounds like Donkey Kong 64 lmao
This is hands down the best video you have ever release. It was a complete joy to watch ^^ keep up the amazing work man. looking forward to the next one
Early Cataclysm was, for me, peak WoW gameplay. The zones were awesome, the dungeons were well designed, classes played amazing. Most important of all Tier 11 and Firelands were some of my most enjoyable time raiding heroic 25 man. Bugs in T11 didn't really affect a more casual guild, and the difficulty of Firelands was spot on. It's a shame it all ended on the fat stinker that was Dragonsoul patch.
wrong.
@@alexking1491 right.
Most memorable for me was the nerf to healing from WotLK -> Cata. Gone was the volatile, spammy healing, in was the slow, mana-intensive healing. Which undoubtedly had an impact in Heroic Dungeons with pugs.
People either love or hate the change. Personally I liked it, healing became a dynamic resource management and encouraged communication. During wrath the healers rarely said a single thing - they just spammed heals non-stop.
Healers were the only ones I remember struggling with the new heroics. So in some sense the difficulty was a bit overblown. I did see a fair number of them quit though.
From my recollection, healing was basically the major reason heroics were difficult. You could hold threat and had the damage, but your healer was struggling with mana or timing/throughput. It seemed be the limiting factor.
I ran as a war tank in cata with a priest main I've known and played with since vanilla and who I thought was pretty good, and I just felt bad for him. You could hear his frustration with just running out of mana sometimes, or just barely not being able to keep me or others up in some fights. He enjoyed the challenge and generally making healing more complicated, but it seemed just poorly tuned or unfair many times in the way where you'd just have to say 'what was I supposed to do better there? when you were giving it all you had.
The one-shot mechanics were there as well and people generally were not well practiced at 'dont stand in the colorful circle' after wrath, but that seemed like it would resolve on its own once players knew what was coming.
@@samwise1790 Another big issue was tanks coming from WOTLK were used to just stacking HP since in ICC with Chill of the Throne mitigation was an afterthought and you just wanted the health to withstand any individual hit since healers were spamming.
With Cataclysm, warrior and paladins especially really needed to stack mastery to up their block and get as much combat table coverage as possible. That's why one of the best early tanking trinkets was the Impetuous Query dungeon drop (blue item, on use boatload of mastery, 1 min cd) which would smooth out the damage spikes and allow healers to use their slower, less mana-intensive heals vs. their fast mana-intensive heals they had gotten used to spamming in the "wtf is mana" era of wotlk.
@@thisismyyoutubecommentacco6302 ah yeah thanks for reminding me. I MT'd as a DK in wrath up to the lich king and now youre bringing back memories of changing gear priority to mitigation/mastery, and farming for probably that trinket, though I cant for the life of me remember the name of any single item starting from cata, which was my last real try at any retail wow version.
So glad to see a legacy video again - Welcome back Preach!
Now this is the Legacy I’ve been looking forward to!
Great energy Mike on this Legacy video! Thats a healthy form bro!
Absolutely love the video, all your Legacy episodes are pure delight.
And the last bit of music section. 10 out of 10, always 👌
I really want to know what the music is
What a great video preach. Crazy nastolgic seeing your vid again. Cheers.
Your legacy videos have always meant a lot to me! Thanks bro!
the mad lads finally did it!
fantastic video, Cata sure was an experience
Preach's Cata assasination rogue guide is how I found this channal all those years ago. Thank you Mike.
I joined the game with Cata, will always love it for that
Cata was when I joined too and haven't left, really. I do adore Cata; enough I will play just to see if my memories are the same or not, LOL
i am angry that i didn't play much before cata i played for like one week in 2008 and even i got disappointed when i started again in cata
Same, and I can’t wait to relive those glory days. Sadly so my friends that I used to play with do not play anymore. Oh well Time to make new memories.
As always a great video from the team!
such a blast of nostalgia, i first got into wow at the start of cata, watching mikes videos, as a 15 year old. Now a 30 year old getting ready for Cata classic and mike's still at it. Crazy stuff
I always loved Vash'Jir. Hyped to experience it once more as current content
This was a great vid Mike
Nice to have Ghosty back on the couch with you for this cata vid!
Enjoying going back through your Cata guides with dungeon playthrough etc. My favourite time in wow and my favourite series of videos, which are happily now relevant for many of us once again.
That was savage Chris and well deserved. Well done!
Been watching you since you taught me how to tank for my first time through HoTs in Cata! So amazing to see how far you've come. Your content is incredible.
Sick, a new legacy vid! Thanks, Preach!
Looking good and healthy Preach!! Been watching your vids for as long as I can remember. Keep up the great content!
Sooo good, love the video
my favorite thing about Vash'jr was leveling a druid during WoD and getting up to about 500% movement speed in aquatic form with the glyph for it
That was a fun walk down memory lane, I was Hardcore raiding back then, but I was never privy to the hows and whys of things that were happening. Thanks for filling in the blanks!
I appreciate the legacy video making a return. Hopefully it continues!!
Preach is looking fit! Great work man.
Wow preach, looking good mate! keep it up
Great effort getting this out before Cata Classic launch, good vibes for cata eve! thank you preach
That outro was sick af.
Amazing video, as always Preach. Ya boy is still holding out for Legacy of the Hunter and Death Knight videos.
Keep the killer uploads coming dude! ❤️🙏🏻
It's almost time for a legacy of the legacy videos
Legacy of videos are incredible. Thanks for this
As someone who realisticly started really playing in Cata i have a lot of nice memories from the xpac. Firelands was for sure my favorite since i started to raid in a more serious manner at that time, really appreciate theese vids mike!
I WAS WAITING FOR THIS AAAAH
There are two kinds of people, those who get motion sickness and those who don't. Apparently most of WoWs players are in the former category.
I don't even understand why motion sickness would be a thing. Honestly. I mean in wow? Have you ever tried VR?
"you think thats hot? ever been in (insert hot place here)?" eneregy xD
old folks
I think what he means is there are people that have graphic cards with low vram or more than enough vram (especially when it matters)
(And i am not even talking about a processor with cache or without cache memory) Things like that make a lot of difference in some very specific like cata leveling zones and some very specific raid bosses (you guys know what I mean)
I know people who get motion sickness from all 3D first/third person games in general, especially fast paced ones.
Mate, been watching your wow content for ages and it’s so nice to see you coming back in to wow! You’re an absolute legend and it’s nice to hear another Brit talking about how great wow is but also the problems it’s had that doesn’t get brought up in game a lot. Keep it up brodda
Wow, this comes full circle for me. Growing up we never had the resources for me to play outside the trails, finally late in Cataclysm a friend gave me their account and I leveled my warrior. I was a complete noob and I remember finding your channel and warrior guide and have been here since, even after the understandable WoW content drought. Your guide massively improved my gameplay at the time and I remember finally being comfortable as we moved into Pandaria
this is the one ive waited all this time for!!!!
thank you PG Gaming! Great Video!
Just want to say I appreciate the Vashj'ir respect. I LOVED that zone. My absolute favourite in the game, by far, I always loved every second I spent there.
I am absolutely honored that you used a clip of my Tusks drop reaction video in this Legacy!
I've been a viewer since the Cata/MoP days and watch/listen to Drama Time religiously to this day, to be a small part of your legacy video about Cataclysm is a really cool "full circle" moment that I will cherish. Thank you!
Honestly one of the reasons I began to upload WoW videos after many years of just playing is due to inspiration from watching the channel over the years. Your content has always been a consistent comfort through both the hard times and the good times, more than I could ever say!
Thank you very much for all the incredible content over the years Preach and team, and here's to many more ❤️
Yay Legacy vids are back baby!
The end sequence is so good x.x
It's a good day when I see a new legacy video.
I appreciate you, Preach. Putting out content while personal life is in absolute shambles. Best of luck to you my friend.
Fantastic! Thank you!
I loved Vashj'ir, it was the first zone I did when Cata came out. It was so original, I've never seen an underwater zone like this in any game before, it gave that proper ocean vibe of being so deep and spacious, the music was great.
great vid!
that was awesome. i love ur history vids
At long last. I had feared i would never see a new Preach legacy of wow video ever again :')
Cool music video at the end.
Dude you have no idea how big part of my childhood preach's class guides were during original Cata. And seeing everything now come full circle like 10-15 years later is MINDBLOWING.
Little Easter Egg: Stamina gemina (ifyky)
I have waited to long for this
Sheeeeeesh! Did not expect to see this!
Lookin good preach keep doing what you're doing.
I absolutely LOVED the vash'jir leveling zone and hated the hyjal leveling zone
Preach you are looking spectacular mate!
The montages at the end of the legacy videos always get me
Cataclysm was a great demonstration of what happens when the devs try to force people to play the game the way THEY think it should be played, instead of how people enjoy playing the game.
Edit: You're 100% right about transmog saving the game. One of the things that would make me want to log out right after getting into the game was looking at my character wearing a patchwork quilt most of the time. Back when I was really into WoW I would deliberately wear slightly worse gear if it looked better than the replacement.
For me the biggest legacy of the Cataclysm was that the first instances of being an alliance raider was starting to flounder. I remember having issues with our roster as more slowly saw the horde outcome. By Wod even I had left but it started here in Cataclysm where the factions really started to tilt. Make no mistake I remember Cata very fondly it was also my first one outside of a private server when I finally had my own PC. I loved it, the world bosses were also a forgotten thing but my guild at that time actually organised for it keeping an eye out. I think when I look back nostalgia goggles do take over the people I knew but thats just how it goes. Cata wasn't all bad it had its highs and lows, but for me the highs really did out number the low. Also do you remember the solo firelands shaman trash farm? I sure do and what it did to the AH. LOL thanks peach for the trip down memory lane. Pandaria next I hope?
OMG I HAVE NEVER CLICKED A VIDEO FASTER love the legacy videos
Cataclysm has a special place in my heart because it's the one I started playing. I still remember in 2011 my friend inviting me to play and we both created orc warriors. Going through the valley of trials, I opened the map, zoomed out to Durotar, to Kalimdor, and finally to the world map thinking "I will die one day and I will never had explored all this world". I was so naive back then 😅but the first time you play you never forget, it's a mystical experience.
A new legacy video hell yeah
man Mike ur in shape - well done :)
You missed the best thing about Cata - FLYING almost everywhere.
Nice music video at the end.
Yaaaaaay legacy video !
Cool, I was wondering when this was coming out!! Glad I get to see it right after it released. Plz do a Legacy of the Hunter!
I remember coming into the game in Cataclysm around Firelands. I can't help but love it because of that even despite it's flaws. I remember being hooked on TB's wipeathon videos and all the guides including yours.
I think the difficulty (or idea of it by the time I came in) is the reason I'm as die hard for challenging content in the game now.
Thank You!
Cataclysm will always have a special place in my heart.
I started in Cataclysm,I also descover your guides that make me from a garbage to a decent player, and the lesons learned back then are still viable today.
Great video
Doing these videos in tandem with the release of multiple classics would be cool. A WoW historian
11:00 i thought that jingle had been lost to time! It making a return in a legacy video scratches an itch 😌
As time went on, I found myself looking back at Cata more fondly than any other expansion. I'm very excited to relive this part of the game.
Getting Tarecgosa's Rest when it was current is my second finest achievement in WoW and I will never forget my time in the Firelands.
I stopped playing WoW during Cata. Love the videos, so nostalgic, so much stuff I have already forgot and suddenly remembered watching this.
I remember this was the Xpac Preacho sat at a target dummy for days and finally got his RANK 1. Neva forget. Good Memories comin back.
Nice going, Preacher
As if today couldn't be any better, we get a new Preach legacy video.
I had been playing since Burning Crusade, but this was the first expansion where I started raiding with my guild. Agility Bear Tank. 👍
"Broken for two months" That's actually pretty good, imagine if all of BFA dungeons that brand new players were running were broken for over 3 years. Oh wait...
Vashj'ir was my favourite zone of the expansion, Really love it. Re-Playing it now for classic.
Best Preach content! (a little hyperbolic, but just wanna say I love it)
Vash was a good fuckin' zone.
It was so good that i played it until i can't the thought of leveling through it again.
first guide i watched of yours was the arms warrior guide in dragonsoul patch! taught me for the first time what stance dancing was, watched ever since!
"BREAK YOURSELVES UPON MY BODY!" is what i type in all chat in LoL when i get fed on rammus. such a classic line
lmfaooo that’s a good one. another one that stayed with me also from Cata is from Archbishop Benedictus, “there is no good. no evil. no light. there is only POWER” but he pronounces it like POWA 😂
Vashj'ir is a top 5 zone. Absolutely gorgeous zone.
NO FUCKING WAY
I LOVE YOU PREACH, IVE BEEN WAITING SINCE HIGHSCHOOL
I LOVE the underwater zone
