- Today on the Arkham Chronicle we present our comprehensive guide to Coin Capsules for protecting your Chaos Tokens. Why do it? How do they work? Where do they come from? How many do you need and what size? This is what we wanted to find out. Because it’s probably what you want to know too.

Great video! I've been shopping around for these. I found some premium capsules at my local coin shop. 2 bits each! (25cents USA). I think the sound of slow-swirled encapsulated chaos tokens is pure ASMR.
Followed the link here from a BGG thread, great tip on the ultras. I've got some in the post and can't wait to get them into my chaos bag. I like the idea of acryllic tokens but also like using the original game parts where possible, so this seems like the best of both worlds!

I went with the lighthouse ones a few weeks ago, and ended up adding a tiny dot of superglue to keep them safe.
Just received some of the Ultras. This is a superb idea. You think of protecting the cards, not the counters.
After watching this I realised acrylic replacements for the Chaos bag wouldn't work, as people may be able to feel which token is which. Perfect idea :-)

These are great. Another use for the cheapp ones is in combination with proxy tokens (unless you want to risk your originals) . Just encase proxy token in resin. It will add a nice weighty feel.

Has anyone had their Leuchtturm Ultras crack yet?
I bought mine on ebay about 6 months ago (and have been using them often since that time). They came in the same packaging as shown in this video. To ensure they stayed closed, I placed two small dots of E6000 adhesive on the rim before closing. I have had a few develop visible cracks but not (yet) severe enough to single them out by touch when pulling from the chaos bag. I definitely shake the bag several times before pulling but not in an extreme manner. I acknowledge that - as AC mentions in the video - that these capsules are not meant to be tossed about in a bag hundreds or thousands of times. I am still quite happy with them and strongly prefer the rimless Ultras over the rimmed capsules. As long as I can't feel a difference when pulling, I'm fine with it.
Did the crack appear where you put the adhesive?
Any updates after 3 years use?
We had to go through a lot to get hold of them in the UK as they are not a native delicacy here :)

I haven't tried it but a Chalk bag or Chalk Pot for Rock Climbing would probably work really well.
Way old post.. but i bought a bottle of Crown Royal... kept the bag and gave a friend the bottle since i dont drink... VERY nice bag, light and without any inside seams
The problem lies at players who are to lazy/dirty to wash their hands before. We don't eat while we play. We have big respect for others stuff.
Question: If I am buying the Premium Ultra coin captures from Leuchtturm that are rimless, can I still buy the 25 mm tokens if I want them to be snug and not move around, or do I have to buy the 26mm in the ultra?
If you can find 25mm Ultra they should work fine.
Where can you get 25mm ultra capsules in the UK? Been looking for the last half hor after seeing this video and thus far come up empty.

Sorry, not sure to understand how many capsule should i buy (I dont have the game yet). Is it 40 or just 20?
If you get 40 you won't need to swap tokens in and out if you change difficulty level. If you only play on one difficulty then 20 should be fine.

The red one is from Third-Die. Not sure if they are still in business but you can still find their bags at retailers depending on the country you are in.
