    Wow ! Didn’t think that could be done without a full drain on that lower suction filter but you done it ! I don’t think I have the nerve to try it. Great job sir ! Have a Blessed Day

      Lol. Honestly, it can be done way better than I did here. I’ve checked it a couple other times and did a much smoother job. Thanks for watching!

    Man I can't remember if it is the hst filter or just the hydraulic filter on my B2601, but when I pulled it just to replace the filter the fluid came flying out! I like the idea of the clutch alignment tool plug. Looks like it worked pretty good. Congrats on the 5,000. You guys are killing it!

      Its the hydraulic filter on B that lets loose ... I used shop vac on 50 hr service barely lost any.. HST is easy just a few drips past what filter holds. I just did 200 on HST didn't bother with vac :)

    • @JustCaidsDayFarm
      @JustCaidsDayFarm Před rokem

      @@bhall7997 Last time I did the filters was a full fluid swap so I didn't have that issue. How do you use a shop vac?

    • @bhall7997
      @bhall7997 Před rokem +1

      @@JustCaidsDayFarm shop vac hose goes over fill hole. Looking at chart after 50 hr service it doesn't mater lol , hydro filter and full fluid change are paired every 400 hrs. HST filter at 200 doesn't loose enough to worry about.

    When I did the 50 hour service on my BX2680 this past June, I found that the HST filter screen was pretty clean, I'd seen other videos where the screen was pretty plugged up, so I was surprised when I removed mine and it was extremely clean....the problem was, I didn't drain the transaxle first, didn't think about it before I pulled that screen, but once I did I had hydraulic fluid everywhere....ooops. Didn't matter anyhow as I had already planned on changing it and the filter and going with the UDT-2 synthetic fluid. So I did the hydraulic fluid and filter as well as the engine oil and filter, plus I changed the oil in the front axle as well. With the lack of use my tractor gets I'll stick with an annual engine oil/filter change and then doing the hydraulic fluid/filter change every 2-3 years regardless of hours as I don't put that many hours on and the fluids are cheaper than breakdowns and repairs due to fluids breaking down LOL.

      Lol. Man, I thought that I was going to have the same problem. This one didn’t go as smoothly as my first try. My screen actually had some metal the first time I cleaned it. I didn’t care for that, but I’ve checked it a couple times since and it has been all good.

    Great video!! Thank You for running us through the process. Doing these PM’s Ourselves, saves cash to get a fancy hat or t-shirt… LOL!!!
    Safety Suggestion: maybe throw on disposable gloves. Not good to blow compressed air on the skin…..

      Just fill it back up till its at the full mark on the dipstick....every machine is different, what one person loses when changing a filter VS what another person loses is going to be different...there's a reason there's a dipstick back there to check the fluid levels LOL. I lost about 3-1/2 gallons of fluid as I changed it not just the filter at 50 hours. I changed the engine oil/filter, hydraulic fluid/filter, and the oil in the front axle all at 50 hours. Did the UDT-2 fluid which is synthetic so its good for longer service intervals, so probably will change the fluid/filter again around 200 hours if not sooner, I'll just keep an eye on the fluid color. I'll change the engine oil/filter once a year as I don't put many hours on the machine each year so I'll just do the oil/filter annually regardless of hours, and probably the hydraulic fluid every 2-3 years.

      I’ve changed my HST filter several times and it’s always been about like this. Now the screen part can be tricky and you can lose a lot quickly if you aren’t ready. Good luck with your service. Dale!

      Getting the machine up on ramps and Jack stands made it way way easier to do the fuel filter underneath. That is actually the topic of next week’s Tractor Tuesday.

    What can I use to clean my screen if I don't have an air compressor? Also, I noticed you did not lube up the new filter before putting it on. Would that be helpful if I did?

    • @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead
      @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead  Před měsícem

      I would say a shop vac or maybe a can of carburetor cleaner to spray it with would work well too. As far as putting oil on the filter seal, that’s a good idea. I usually do. It helps make it easier to remove the filter the next change…
