The scene where Sarah can mysteriously cling to the fence until only her skeleton is left is hardly realistic, but since everything is just her dream, it isn't important. The blast hitting the buildings is probably very much like it would happen.

The Easiest way to think about ALL the Terminator movies/TV is think of as if they follow Different/Multiple Timelines:
    - T1, T2(Director's Cut), end
    - T1, T2(Theatrical Cut), T:Dark Fate
    - T1, T2(Theatrical Cut), T3, T:Salvation

    Great reaction to part two!
I remember learning that Cameron got a letter from a group of scientists congratulating him for the most realistic depiction of a nuclear detonation in a city in Sarah's nightmare. This horrified him since he was just trying to create the most over the top terrifying image he could, only to discover that it was accurate.
Luckily, Sarah stepped back from Terminator mode before killing Dyson, which is good. Killing Dyson wouldn't have changed much of anything anyway. Cyberdyne still would have had the parts, all his notes, and everything they needed to complete the project. Judgment Day would have come, just on a different day other than Michael Jackson's (and my little sister's) birthday. The excellent Joe Morton, who played Dyson, had an accident that punctured one of his lungs when he was younger, so he knew firsthand how Dyson should be breathing/gasping at the end.
And, really, Miles Dyson is the biggest damn hero in this movie. In less than two hours he goes from being motivated genius scientist/engineer with a project he loves to sacrificing his life for a future he'll never see. And he gives the men who killed him a chance to get away. Huge damn hero.
"I'll be back." Another great throwback to the first movie. I also loved that John obviously told the Terminator what Kyle's first words to Sarah were, because those were the first words he said to her in this movie. Held out his hand toward her like Kyle did and said "Come with me if you want to live."
And the third repeated line from the first movie: "Get out." Said here by the new Terminator to the guy in the helicopter and last movie from the old Terminator to the passenger in the semi truck. 😀
And, kind of, one more repeated line: at the end of the final fight, both Terminators destruction was met with the word "Terminated."
The extended edition had two advantages over the standard edition. Though it wasn't obvious in its performance, the continuous damage the T-1000 was taking from every shot that hit it and every impact was affecting it. It is most obvious at the scene in the smelting plant after being shattered when, as shown in the theater release, its feet tended to take on the aspect of the flooring as it walked and, in the extended edition, when it grabbed a railing its hand mimicked the paint job on the railing. Also, in the extended edition, at the final scene when Sarah is calling out for John, he looks down and sees that the fake Sarah's feet look like the ironwork that the T-1000 is standing on and he knows for sure which to trust.
The extended edition variant ending is also superior (to me) for one more reason: it ends with older Sarah sitting on a playground bench and watching her adult son playing with her granddaughter, meaning that this Terminator movie is absolutely the end of the franchise, and all the movies that steal the name of the series after this are just lame cash grabs and can and should be avoided like the plague, in my opinion.

    Great Reation Video.....
Reason Sara stops from killing Dyson...... is she is starting to realize she is acting just like the Terminators and the Machines........
There are (Fan) Theories and I think there are books that state the reason there is more movies (Events don't stop), is that the research Myles Dyson was doing, it was backed-up off site and those files were not destroyed with the building........
As leads up to this movie being released, there were commericials showing an assembly linemaking Terminators and at the end of the line they all got Arnold's Face (T-800 Series, Model 101)......
Sadly, a few of the commericals let the cat out of the bag that Arnold was the Good Guy this time, before it opened in Theaters..........

-"You can't go around killing people!"
    -"Why?"
Terminators are walking weapons. John underestimated this fact at first. But he quickly realized this. That these things are not for play and have no sense of humor either. As well as any other feelings In that sense.
So before using it, read the instructions.
For this, Terminator showed his hand to Dyson, for full proof that these things really exist.
I love the last Terminator screen: all in 0.00 ; this is when all functions are blocked. And the inscription: inevitable shutdown. This time it can no longer be turned on.
Upon exiting the Cyber-Dyne building after Maels' death, the Terminator had reversed his grenade belt to stop the grenades from exploding if a special forces unit fired at the grenade belt. I never see this moment but recently I learned about it.😁
The lesson is that this machine now has a soul because of the child, after a machine learned the value of a human life. So John didn't just lose his bodyguard, he lost a friend. This last hand was about Sarah and John never giving up.
I really love the ending. And very often when I go to a true crime channel and see someone glorifying serial killers I tell them "go watch Terminator::2 and learn to value human life".
About story line: Terminators come from a one a possible reality. They are only one of many possible realities.
In fact, the Terminator universe is connected to the Alien universe. Cyber Dine Systems
(the makers of the Microprocessor for Terminators) in the Alien movies are the makers of the Synthetic Persons like Ash from Alien 1 and Bishop from Alien 2 and Alien 3.
So the future of humanity in Alien has developed differently taking a difference timeline from a war of humans against Terminators.
So if you solve an equation correctly you'll practically rule out a nightmarish future where Earth is overrun by Skynet's Terminators. So in that case Terminators will remain just a bad dream. They will never happen. So Terminators aren't necessarily the future. They are just one possible future in one possible reality (even the Rick and Morty show based a lot of their ideas on this Terminator idea, and it's no coincidence that the Rick and Morty show had a Terminator episode in their first season).
So I liked your thoughts on that part. The girl thinks a lot. That was impressive. She's not just a mindless bystander to some action. But she is trying to make sense of it all which is very nice to see. This is the idea that we read books and watch movies, animations and games, we enrich ourselves and we enter into these ideas.
Terminator has a great lesson and message. And if we miss these messages, there is no point in watching.

Your girlfriend doesn't realize that it was the most expensive movie ever when it came out. The special effects were groundbreaking! A few special effects designers with their own CZcams channel tried to recreate the exact same effect, with modern computing power, when the T-1000 runs through the bars. They managed it but not nearly as real looking as in the movie. The movie won several Oscars. And another thing that young people like you never notice: When Arnold walks down the corridor and takes the shotgun out of the box with the roses, it was a reference to the rock band Guns'n'Roses who contributed the soundtrack "You could be mine"...And I have to criticize another thing: you must rate the movies not from todays perspective.

  • @stanimirgeorgiev.87
    @stanimirgeorgiev.87 Před 2 měsíci +1

If I'm being honest there are a lot of things in T1 despite its lower budget that I love more than T2 and I think T1 has more depth and also it's more saturated than T2. T2 was very dedicated to his vision and Stan Winston did a great job with that, but the spirit of T1 was stronger.
I appreciate that you find action in T2 to be logical because it is often debated whether it is logical, as I also think that everything makes sense, it does not appear randomly, but there is a reason for it to happen.
When the T-800 goes to terminate, its termination is modest and humble. Unlike a T-1000 termination where the T-1000 terminates more like a living being fighting for its life. Apparently the exo-skeletons are more machines and they have no "instinct" for self-preservation and a thirst to continue their existence unlike the T-1000 which seem to be more "alive".
So when my final moment comes I hope i to be like the T-800.

So as you said this was the directors cut or whatever, there's actually a few versions out there. I had a dvd that came with like 4 of them on it.
Some of the main differences, when they were at the gas station and they pulled the chip out of Arnie's head. That surgery didn't happen in the theatrical.
The rest of what I remember being different was the T1000 would drag his hand over computers and things. He could read the computer and gain other evidence through touch. Though not explained in film, in some commentary or behind the scenes this was explained.
Also, after being frozen and exploded, the T1000 started to have trouble and malfunction, this is why he touched the railing and his hand took on the paint color and stuck to it. Also at the end, with the twin Sarah's the pan down to the mishapened feet trying to imitate the floor surface. A few shots like that were completely omitted from theatrical. So being blown to pieces didn't really affect him at all in that version.

Dyson is undoubtedly a computer engineer. The film presents us with a simple computer company, but the reality would be much more complex. In a corporation with such advanced resources working on such a complex project, it is not enough to eliminate one person; surely there would be several teams composed of at least 2 or 3 people each, working on different aspects or even phases of the project, and it is even possible that some would be unaware of the composition of the other teams. Moreover, it would make sense to keep at least 2 backup copies of the data they handle, given their relevance, and these copies would not all be kept in the same building.

Yeah, it's really strange how someone will try to talk everybody else out of watching a movie they didn't like. It's not enough that they don't want to see it again, they also don't want anyone else to watch it either.@@raybernal6829

Great reaction like always, This is a great movie i can say that this is a perfect example of a sequel is better than the original. There are some fun facts about this masterpiece of cinema. Production took so long that Edward Furlong’s voice and height had to be altered the movie ended up taking so long to film that Edward Furlong, who plays John Connor in the film, had grown considerably taller than in the first shots he had filmed, and his voice had also deepened. This resulted in his voice having to be dubbed in the editing process. And, to keep his height consistent with Linda Hamilton’s, he had to stand in a hole in the ground in some scenes. Linda Hamilton’s twin sister appears in two scenes first in the playgroud scene as a younger Sarah Connor and in the metal works scene The T-1000 is the master of imitation and can quickly morph into anything it touches. In the metal works factory towards the end of the film, it transforms into Sarah Connor, and at one point the fake Sarah and the real Sarah are on screen at the same time. But there was no camera trickery there. The decoy was played by Linda Hamilton’s twin sister Leslie. Linda Hamilton suffered permanent hearing loss during this movie. And the Rodney King incident happened right next to filming. One night whilst filming the biker bar scene, unbeknownst to the crew, right across the street, Rodney King was being beaten badly by police officers; a case of police brutality that sent shockwaves across the globe. The incident later inspired James Cameron to write the film Strange Days. Keep up the amazing work.

Director James Cameron intended for the Terminator Saga to end with Terminator 2. The greedy studios decided to make inferior sequels WITHOUT James Cameron that ruin everything that Sarah, John and Arnold accomplished in Part 2.

and after all that, James Cameron managed to ruin Terminator 2 himself with Dark Fate. A movie that undid everything they accomplished in T2. No Skynet. No John. Just a bitter alcoholic Sarah and a 4 foot chihuahua as John's replacement.

    @sonosoloio Před 3 měsíci +1

there is no terminator 3 or anything, salvation is some kind of prequel, watchable but nothing special and genisys is a funny movie and nothing more, that other stuff is just unspeakable, but the story ends with the second movie and the only good thing done after these 2 movies is the TV series "the sarah connor chronicles", unjustly interrupted and underrated.

Please, do not pursue other parts. They are subpar and irrelevant.
What truly sets T2 apart is its heart. At its core, it's a story about humanity, sacrifice, and redemption.
The relationship between the Terminator and John Connor is surprisingly touching, adding depth to the film's action-packed exterior. Sarah Connor stands as the model badass woman, played brilliantly by Linda Hamilton, who transforms from a damsel in distress to a warrior ready to protect her son and save the future.
To this day, there haven't been that many brilliant Action films. Terminator 2 is nonchalantly a perfect film, or at least closest to the perfection of cinema as it can get.

Cameron is a top tier creator. However, there are two items that broke the 4th wall that to this day are hard to forgive. One, is the 'Bad to the Bone' music cue. Every time, it's like, "Seriously, James?"
Sadly, the worser one caps the end where the Terminator gives a thumbs up as he's dropped into the big smelting pot. Oh pishaw! What a stupid moment. Just sayin'.

    • @mattschliemann9683

While when I first saw the movie, I loved the Bad to the Bone scene. But everytime I see the movie, I like that scene less and less.
I've always liked how you weren't sposed to know which one of them was the baddie until the scene in the hall at the mall. And to me, having this humorous scene with the music kinda tips their hand a bit that Swartzenegger is in fact the good guy.

The Terminator films are like The Godfather: there are ONLY 2 of them.
Any others are a complete waste of time.
I like the first Terminator more, because it had a small budget, and with it they made a tremendous movie.
T2 was at the time the most expensive movie ever made, and it it is much easier to make a good film with a gigantic budget.
