While watching Furiosa at the cinema yesterday with my mum, I reminded her that she let my brother and I watch Mad Max 1 and 2 when we were little kids. We grew up very close to where the first movie was filmed and would drive those roads all the time. Mum also worked with Vernon Wells in the early '90's (apparently he wasn't that much different in real life to Wez). All of these movies are my childhood (my brother and I would play Mad Max just like we'd play Star Wars or Superman) and it was a blast yesterday to see Furiosa and get that same rush I've had for the last 40 years.

Maan I cant believe someone else understands how passionately the FURY ROAD trailers were made - they are designed SO incredibly - probably the best modern trailers Ive seen.. Brollie is streaming a lot of those classic Australian movies - for free. Including
    Stir
    The Money Movers
    The Removalists
I grew up in Sydney in the 70s, my 10yrs older brother was a biker in a club, the government had changed after 20+ years - conservatism, censorship & social constraints were torn apart & we were encouraged, for the first time, to define ourselves as more than just sheep herders in the outback.
The government wanted us to have an Australian film industry - tax funded - it was a creative explosion.
Stone, Wake in Fright, The Last Wave, Shame, Picnic at Hanging Rock and so many more shaped my teenage mind.
The women & men acting in our movies & tv series of that time didn't need the 'method' - they simply were the characters they played. Most of our actors of today are continuing the legacy.
