Bens actor was amazing but he was so annoying. The moment he steps into their lives i knew they were gonna have to kill him. Wendy was getting too cocky and his seath would ground her again. Great ending though.

This was a great entry into the Franchise. Loved Lowry's Son and Reggie. Vanessa Hudgins is used really well. Mike and Marcus are actually cool and funny. Damn good writing, some of those jokes were fire. I would love to see a Reggie Bad Boys movie. I think he has stolen the Franchise.

The reason why Owen switched actors between such a short period of time is to emphasize puberty. Puberty, easily one of the worst points in almost any trans person's life. Your body starts changing in ways you hate and there's all kinds of new social expectations that you're smothered with. For those without the language to describe what is going on it's scary. You're left to wonder what the hell is wrong with you, what's broken inside about you and you fear if you try to talk about it people will mistreat you in some way. Owen correctly deduces this as his dad is closed-minded and his dying mother backs their father when push comes to shove. And if you're somebody like me who did have the language it's just as horrifying if not more so because you know exactly what is happening and not only are you helpless to stop it but you know with absolute certainty that there's few if any people in your life you can trust. Owen aging up into a new actor visibly represents life getting worse for Owen in a physically tangible way. This is part of why Maddie is the same actor through the entire film. I think the other aspect is because she never had difficulty knowing who she is or accepting what she is. I don't want to be mean in saying in that you didn't understand the ending you didn't because that thing you said you hope happened *is* what happened. Textually Owen is Isabel. They've finally confronted that and understand why they feel suffocated in life - because they literally are suffocating in a grave. Owen/Isabel is moving with purpose at the end, something that almost never happens in the entire film. They have the warmth of life inside of them and are going to do what they have to do to save themselves. Now where does life go for Isabel from there? We don't know. It doesn't matter. What matters is that Isabel has chosen to stop slowly suffocating to death and that fear no longer controls them. It's a bittersweet ending.. They've lost a lot of time that they didn't need to but they won their fight against their demons and are reclaiming what they have left.

I saw Dune Part 2 once at the very first available showing at my local theater, then five times later on the very last possible showing at my theater. Unbelievably rich and thorough piece of cinematic art. I feel like knowing about the books would have diminished my enjoyment of the film.

@GeekinWithJamesHancock I really enjoyed the past 3 Bad Boys flicks, I may have enjoyed 3 the most so far because it seemed like the stakes for Mike Lowry and Marcus Burnett are much higher in that movie and it has probably the scariest villains in the entire series for me in the assassins that are after everyone close to Mike and they vow to kill Mike last because they want him to suffer emotionally before they take him out. There’s just something about the villains in bad boys for life, that even though it’s been awhile since I’ve seen it however, I may go for a rewatch of it before I go see ride or die on Saturday with my mom and dad as well as my buddy from high school David, that we continue to be friends until this day, and I can’t wait.

THE PROWLER AND THE BURNING are great...DEEP RED...SO MANY. DRESSED TO KILL IS STELLAR. I think I pretty much agree with you in this film I wanted to like it more than I did I didn't hate it I didn't love it. It was just two minimal it's worth one watching the theater and that is all I will not plan on owning it or watching it again

I love BB! Was 15 when it came out. Mike I think peaked after TF in 2007, the Rock was probably his best, but not peak. Saw the last one in theaters and liked it, but this one didn't look that compelling to me. But will check it out when I can out of theater.

Great list .. Untouchables was a bad movie though. I never understood the love for that one. It's so campy and goofy.. but not in a good way.

Thanks for this ranking which also acts as a great refresher. #2 was the most open-mouthed shocking while #1 the most moving. Both were entirely satisfying. Looking forward to see what S2 has up its sleeve.

I was all up for a Bad Boys marathon. And then I watched the original again....

I'm from the school,that less is more. For me...the trailer was way too long. Brevity is the watchword...show me less and allow my twisted imagination to fill in the rest. I must admit that homework has been respected. The Alien opening blockage is like the original....the metal iris opening is very much a homage to the Dallas scenario...nice! This looks good...but I prefer the teaser. Hollywood is in fear mode...they have not learned to dole out just enough visuals to ignite speculation and interest. You have an insightful... genuine reaction...Kudos.

Last one was meh and forgettable. I'm on the fence with this one. Looks better than the last one, but trailers can trick you.

I enjoyed this one quite a bit... Agree... A return to 90s esq R rated action cop comedy.... Long overdue!

I think the movie will overperform because the older black crowd don’t do presale tickets and will walk up business will be huge.

Got to be honest it sounds a good film. I'm pleased Will has moved on and has still got a career. But for me, I can't get past the slap. Not so much the deed , the snivelling non apology. If your going to be a bad boy own it.

Reggies character arc has been complete after 21 years! Definitely the highlight of the film for me! My theater went nuts through the whole thing.

Outstanding list, James! The only difference I have in my top 10 would be swapping out The Old Dark House with The Black Cat. Loved the inclusion of Vampyr, which is such an underrated work of art.

Just wanted to say thanks for doing the review, I’ve watched mad max in a right puberty stage at 9 or 10 and been following the production of fury road every day since until it came out when I was 16 going on 17. Suffice to say it is THE ONLY movie where I’ve brought myself to watch it five time in theaters…the action and pure adrenaline always gets me every time like watching The Raid while Miller putting lots of modern action directors to shame! I am very sad to see Furiosa doing very poorly at the box office since I think it’s just as equally good while loving the fact it’s basically almost a retelling of the original Mad Max film. Today will be my forth time seeing it along being the last day to watch it on a premium Cinemark XD format. I took my father to see it and my friend to watch it so I’m spreading the gospel! I’m also proud to say I won an eBay bidding on a Furiosa poster signed by the entire cast and crew with a WB COA approval and a Cannes press badge for proof! I’m hoping it can make enough to warrant a sequel cause I don’t want to franchise turn into dust…Miller is such a genius director and the fact he’s 80 years old knowing how to make a narrative structure just shows how much of a passionate man he is. Here’s hoping for The Wasteland otherwise you deserve your retirement kind sir!

What would really be subversive is an Alien movie with no xenomorphs. Just space truckers towing raw materials from system to system. It'd be like John Cage's 4'33". You keep waiting for the scare - never happens. 😊

This will do well in theaters among viewers who haven't watched Alien movies. Looks beautiful.

the main problem with this version of "Alien" is: the cast is TOO YOUNG! they act and react accordingly ... you can make a teenage horror movie - like scream, final destination & co. - with young actors, but sending teenagers on a space trip to a mining planet?!? WHY? My impression after the trailers: Scream with an Alien instead of a mask! Is this supposed to be the future of the Alien franchise? No, thanks! ;-) PS: I am not an Alien "fan" - I saw them all, like them all (more or less), have them all on Blu Ray, but I am also one of those who likes Prometheus and Covenant ;-) Why? They are all .. mature!

First thing that threw me out was that is NOT the crew of a spacefaring vessel haha. It's like a freshman ball. Chuck a group of young people in a horror narrative and see which one survives kind of deal. Production LOOKS good though, it may not be just a group of paper thin characters running down corridors. I certainly hope so.

Not only is this my favorite comedy film, it’s in my top ten of all time. I was a senior in high school when this came out and I have probably seen it more than any movie in my life.

Dude, A LOT of New Yorkers had that hacking cough. It was gnarly. Took me nearly a month to get over it. The Gold Cloaks performing their own version of Search/Arrest warrant was awesome!

FFS... I thought this whole time that this was going to be a TV mini series had me thinking along the lines of Alien: Isolation.. Hmmm. I need to rethink how I feel abort this though at the end of the day Ill watch it in a theatre.

This does look good. But I think the entire cast shown is in their 20 s why not just make them all teenagers. I would have liked to see an Alien film that followed up after David got his new test subjects after the last film. It already looks like there is going to be a very young female taking on the protaganist role. Okay fine...but my lead role choice would be a talented ships cook who is late 50's and a little overweight as the new leader of the survivors to deal with the infestation. I do hope the film as is does well. I just watched the trailer again and now I would definitely see this in a theatre. The director did Don't Breathe which is a movie I liked and actually own on dvd.

Alien is probably my favourite franchise so I'm down for all of it fingers crossed for this one few parts in this trailer actually got me going I'm not gonna lie the set is very much Alien same walls same doors and shit the title sequence made me smile just might of hooked me if I wasn't so sceptical
