  • Hello again! In this tutorial, I'll be going over how I animated this scene from a previous tutorial. We'll take a look at how I used Mograph Color Data, along with a few other tips and tricks with the camera movement and lighting.

i am incredibly grateful for this tutorial, learned so much! i'm new to c4d and this made it feel less scary and logical. also, the camera rig with the two nulls is invaluable. i've been struggling in c4d and after effects as well with camera movement and this is so simple and elegant and genius. thank you!

Great tutorial mate! Do you know if it's possible to use colour data in Octane the same way?

    Hey, really cool video!
Do you know how to get rid off fireflies that may appear in the final render?
    Thanks, really good content here!

      Thanks!
It may be because your render samples arent high enough. so you could try upping your overides to around 512/1024, and your unified sampling to a min of 8 and a max of 256.
Or, if you have the latest version 3. You could go into the render settings and turn automatic sampling on.

If that doesnt get rid of the fireflies, then you most likely have some geometry issues. Maybe some normals that are the wrong way round.

    Hey dude great tutorial!
Why didn't you use a null to animate the focus?
it could make things much easier if you need to change the animation. You could just drop the null in the center of your fracture and under make it child of any object in the fracture.

      Thanks mate!
Yeah, you're totally right. I could have done! But the reason I didn't.... If you're interested... was because I didn't want the camera to stay perfectly in focus all the time. I wanted it to act more like the real world. If you watch the original render, you see that the focus pulling is slightly delayed and not perfectly in sync. I just felt it added a bit more realism to camera animation.
But your way, will make the animation cleaner, possibly better!

@@TheRooksNest yes that definitly adds that bit of realism in the focus.
Do you work with voronoi fractures and other fx as well?
I would love to see some of those tutorials too.

Hey man! I actually recently built a new home machine with the hope of upgrading it slightly in the future. I decided to jump over to AMD and went with a x3950 Ryzen. And I'm happy I did! But I only have one GTX1080 in it at the moment, which for these tutorials is enough for now. If I need to render some heavier stuff, I use my work computer with two 1080Tis.

Yeah Sir, no one uses Redshift anymore. It was a failed product …It has way too many bugs 🐛
Please take the time to re-record all your tutorials on C4d to Arnold Render!
