- A video on the Lineages from the tabletop roleplaying game, Promethean: the Created. The Prometheans are resurrected through a combination of alchemy and divine fire, Azoth. The resulting creature is returned to the world without a soul, and so goes seeking to gain what they lack and become mortal.

I tried to read the promethean book after a buddy sent it to me, and I was really interested in it. But good God was it confusing, I never did finish it but I really like the concept and they fit in well with all the rest
There’s a good reason why he upload this video by explain how and what of the lore..
Which I must admit that it’s heavily explain and easily for many people weather new players of the lore and olds.
Prometheus is one of those games that's cool to read, but not so great to play.
The problems from staying in one place and dealing with people is really harsh and when used without care not so much fun.
Another chapter in the Chronicles. There are at least two extinct lineages that showed up in Dark Eras. Amirani, which came before the Frankensteins, and the Faceless, a product of WWI. There are also Promethean refinements, and their antagonists.
Also the Hollow, which came from the Dust Bowl
I never knows such lore exists, an re-animated corpse to new body with twisted soul/memories..
But truly interesting! But now I get more good ideas of freaks or The Children of Osiris.. especially the lore that connected to the world of vampires/wraith the oblivion . I had to admit that world of darkness is pure masterpiece.

Great video as always! Not really sure how to feel about Promethean, though.
It deals with some interesting themes and thought-provoking ideas but, frankly, I don't think I could ever manage to convince a group to play this.
That's the neat thing about the game -- it's better in smaller groups, 1-2 players, maybe 3. It's all about otherness and finding humanity, a much more deep and low key affair compared to some like Vampire, Mage or Werewolf which are more bombastic by comparison.
Finally a video on my favorite CoD game! It's a blooming masterpiece and it's good hearing you cover it

Great video, love promethian for its mixing of weird science and the occult.
Been interested in Promethean since it first came out, but White Wolf Studios and the new World of Darkness diminished and faded away soon after.
Now that WotC is screwing up D&D after the past decade’s TTRPG renaissance, it may be time to finally look this up as I check out other systems.

I wasn't originally interested in Promethean aming the Chronicles line, but the theme of a vagabond Promethean drifting across the world (a la The Incredible Hulk tv show and Rambo: First Blood) dealing with local threats catalized by Disquiet and thankless communities, in seek of redemption and humanity - and with superpowered might and resilience, etc. ... great fuel for a solo game

What book is this from? Is this WoD world?
Great lore yet again. But what kind of roleplaying can you do with these guys. A scientist/mage makes you either by accudent, experiment or on purpose, but then what? Do you just wander around doing their tasks, being called a monster and hunted by mobs of people?
In the V1 books they presented a few ideas for long-running stories:
The simplest was the pursuit of true humanity (the dawn) through either living amongst humanity and trying to be human (dangerous due to disquiet and Pandorans)
The longest and arguably less dangerous way was to follow the path of those that went before them in their lineage, the pilgrims whose teachings are hidden in the unseen corners of the world by way of Athanors (deeper connection to human concepts like sacrifice, vengeance, unity, etc. in the form of credos and vows, super interesting stuff if you look it up!)
The other way was to create your own Promethean -- but this was extremely dangerous due to this being how Pandorans are usually made; failed attempts by Prometheans to capture the divine fire.
The final way was via the intervention of The Quasmalim, the angels of the divine fire (as opposed to The God Machine) who, in exchange for a great service MIGHT gift a Promethean with humanity. Key word there being MIGHT.
Again, the goal is humanity -- what does that mean to you? The long path of understanding, or by any means necessary? It's the ultimate "your mileage may vary" story question.
“but then what?” is a great question. Just trying to answer that is the basic question of the Promethean, of roleplaying one. In your specific example, do you content yourself with your creator’s purposes, if any? _Can_ you content yourself with that? Or will being a thinking, feeling creation who’s almost human- but unnaturally _not-_ want more? And if you leave them behind to pursue humanity or something else, how are you going to act if they attempt to reclaim you as their property?
The Disquiet takes time to affect the people and land around the Promethean (although inevitable), and unless you’re really monstrous in form, you’re likely to pass as human for awhile.
So imagine going around, adopting various identities that match your skills, strengths and powers, on your quest to be human. You could be a lot of different things. A scholar, an investigator, a construction worker, some guy applying for a law enforcement job in a small town, etc.
